The mailman just rang and handed me a nice, heavy package. ;) Gotta say that manual is really sweet, couldn´t be happier. Very good value for the money. Thanks for making this possible, Chaotikchiken! P.S. The only weird thing is - according to the invoice the manual was printed in France, and it took almost three weeks to get here. Printing itself was very quick, just two days after the order, but the delivery... I understand that this is out of Lulu´s control, but I really wonder what went wrong when a simple package takes three weeks from France to here. Especially since we have come to be used to overnight deliveries anywhere within mainland Europe. Oh well, it did get here eventually and now I´m a happy camper! :)

OK, Just for the record, learning to fly...

You should have tried to eject! :D -
I believe you shouldn´t watch so much tv.

Would have been my first guess as well. Switching it off does give me that jitter you are talking about, when switching it on everything is smooth as buttter. I run the 306.97 drivers straight from NVIDIA, TrackIR runs with 5.13 and ProClip. The rest of my system can be found here.

Huh? :suspect: What about the other two days of the week? Valuable coding time! Next you´re telling us they work just nine hours a day instead of at least 20 (sleep is overrated anyways)? What a bunch of lazy slackers! I am appalled at their work ethics. Appalled, I´m tellin´ ya! :D

BTW, is there a changelog or something? Couldn´t find what was changed with 5.2

You can be the best typer (typist? whatever the word is...) in the world, whatever you write into the TS chat won´t be read by me. My TS runs minimized in the sys tray when I fly, and I sure as hell ain´t gonna use it any other way.
-
Can you elaborate on that? I´m running the same combo without any problems, so maybe we can compare notes or something.

No, first of all you should get a mic. Seriously, come on, they are a couple of bucks only. If you can afford a DCS title, you can afford a mic.

Great sim. Those runway denial missions were awesome. I remember even being impressed by the looks of the menu, it sure was HD for the time. ;) Spent many fun hours with that sim, wish there was a remake. Truely unique aircraft.

How-to: Create net settings that fit YOUR connection!
Cookie replied to Megagoth1702's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
You know guys, this discussion about definitions and speeds is nice and fine, but it doesn´t change the fact that the suggested action in the OP does diddly-squat when it comes to connection stability and warping. -
Yeah, I know, I worded it badly. I guess I should say "no matter where I went, I was spiked by some fighter instantly". Actually the last kill by the SU-25 I don´t mind at all, that guy (Jabo2009 ) really deserved his kill. Awesome work sneaking up on me like that! Between missile warning and impact there was maybe a second, before that I didn´t even know he was around.

AAR Phase 3

That´s because we were confused about what exactly our target was. The briefing said we were to destoy an enemy HQ, but upon ingressing we didn´t see anything that looked like an HQ. There were a bunch of supermarkets around that looked a little "off", as if they were placed there by hand, so we thought that might be our target and dropped some bombs on them. Since that didn´t seem to do anything, we decided to go for the FARP that was right next to it, thinking it might be the HQ. Since we dropped our "real" bombs on the supermarkets already (and since two out of us three needed to emergency jettison their weapons) we had to try it with CBUs. -
The server itself worked fine for me, but I had a couple of the infamous "DCS has stopped working" reports, and at one time my game completely froze. After that my TrackIR just flat out refused to work, and once that was fixed I wasn´t able to fire up DCS anymore at all. Tried a few times and then gave up, feeling frustrated. Couldn´t really do much last night since no matter where I went, there were enemy fighters all over the place shooting me down instantly. Oh well, better luck next week I hope.

 I feel stupid now. :D

I´ll bring a guest along, his callsign is "Viper". He will join the group here as well, but for now I´ve sent him all relevant material so he is up to date. He will fly either the KA-50 or the SU-25. More details later on teamspeak.

Are you sure about that? In real HUD tapes there appears a little square in the upper left corner whenever the gun is being fired, and I don´t see it in this video.

Use point for everything that moves and area for everything that doesn´t. Simple as that. The laser does not know what kind of loadout you carry, and therefore always assumes it is the biggest and bulkiest loadout possible. That leads to situations like you describe: You have line of sight to the target, but the laser thinks it is blocked by some ordnance. Also there is some safety margin wrapped around the fuselage itself so you don´t fire the laser into your own aircraft.

Stop passwording every DCSW server

There are also innocent mistakes though. Last night I flew an attack on an airfield and targetted a fueltruck with a GBU-38. At the very moment the bomb left the pylon, another player spawned right next to that very truck. Well, whatcha gonna do? Once the GBU-38 is in the air, it´s in the air. It´s not like a LGB, where you can just move the laser away. So sure enough, the bomb killed both the truck and him. I apologized and told him what happened, and he took it like a pro. -
Wow!! What an awesome Sim... with the right HOTAS!!
Cookie replied to MatzWarhog's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Cool idea, never thought of it! Yeah, it´s a Cougar MFD. I like them a lot, they make life in the A-10 much easier. Together with the Warthog HOTAS and TrackIR it enables me to fly and fight without touching the keyboard even once. Just like the HOTAS it comes preconfigured, so you just plug it in and are good to go. Very nice, and reasonably priced as well. It´s a Plantronics DSP 500 USB. Not sure it´s still available though, this one is around 8 years old. VERY happy with Plantronics, I buy all my headsets from them (I have three more besides this one, different models though) and never had to replace one because it stopped working or because of some other issues. And let me tell you, I abuse my headsets like you wouldn´t believe. The one in the pics actually survived a fall from 15 meters (around 50 ft) and just kept on trucking as if nothing happened! Couldn´t believe it! They also fit very nicely (well, my head anyway, obviously YMMV) and are dirt cheap for what they offer. Naw, don´t worry, it had nothing to do with you at all. -
Gotta love the comment over at YouTube. Was gonna write something, but then I woke up and saw the light. Arguing on YT... umm, no.
