here we go again, error messages when running updates ,, see attached snapshot.. cannot delete some files during updates. What is going on?

I am not a pilot, but serviced plenty of British Harriers inthe USAF around 1980... they never took on water, and had plenty of power for landing taking off and hovering... of course this was a long time ago, plus they were the Brit version. I cannot sya for sure but I believe they were practicing for the Falklands. My point is, I can go on and on about aircraft I both flew in and serviced and have spoken in length to pilots about capabilities and there is alot of evidence that some of the modelling in some of the aircraft is not the same as in real life. Not much one can do ecpent either buy it or don't I know/knew real pilots, combat pilots who flew aircraft from Korea on, I ppkoke topolits who wer eitneh real Flying Tigers too.. and often thes epiltos would tell about what theyse aircraft flew like, and some of the pilots would try to chat with modelers about the aircraft and features and the modelers were often open to information but still would disgregard the information and features that chose to not fix. Back in the circle of don't like don't buy it. I get po'd and annnoyed when things are wrong too, but at the end of the day we get what we get. I have asmall list of things I consider to be not correct but just don't list the stuff.. as I am just oo worn out and cannot handle along drawn out battle over things needed changed of fixed. I wil never ever be able to learn how to fly al that i have, at least be very good at each aircraft, and am stil having agood time. I don't code, Ileanred the hardware in engineering a long time ago with computers, but didn't learn to write the software. So I cannot dictate to the software writers. So, thank you for those that make all of this possible.

I had the same thing after todays 2nd update that follows the wed update for Open Beta. it gave errors saying it could not delete some files,, and was a real PIA. after a bnch of tried and trying to run the updates 10x more and tried repairs,, it finally fixed the issues the updater has... it does not properly dlete files in updates... I don't have mods, it just gets messed up with the stock OpenBeta updates. I knew others have to be experiencing these issues. I usually use the SkateZilla utility.... but this time I had to try it without that affter it had issues 10x. I guess it is fixed now, but I wil not know until I fly and try different servers and missions. Some of the files it complained about not being able to delete were files for aircraft I don't own. C-101, and the J-11 (I think it was the Chinese fighter...) It said it could not delete those files... after today supplement update for Open Beta. I bet there are many who fought their way through but didn't take the time out to report the issues.

dude, not saying you cn't master that many planes, but I know some very good pilots and people whocould not master many, as it is just too much, sure you can get good with a few, but master? Like the rest of us we look forward to adding our favorites, but at some point some will collect dust... of course the Apache is the big one so many people await...

the centerline gun pod would have taken the 650 gallon tank away and had the gun inside, the much needed fuel would have made the sortie a very short and slow one... we had them when I wa sinthe USAF.

When I get in an aircraft and bring up the NS430 unit, with LShift+LAlt+B, DCS freezes and I have to alt tab delete to desktop and restart DCS. As long as I don't use those keys all is well. I have the NS430 stand alone, plus the NS430 modules for the Mi-8, and other aircraft that has the deidcated verion of the NS430 jsut for those particular aircraft. I don't think there is comprimise or double use of those keys as the control panel almost always lets you know if that key command sequence has alread been assigned elsewhere. I think it is working properly otherwise, as I have not had a chance to re-test it in all the aircraft until now. Thanx.

is there an offical or semi-offical Japanese plane to use with a Pacific Map? I would prefer not to use any mods, unless of course the system and servers I play on don't complain... Thanx

I quit using a local ms account several years ago, or more,, as often the computer would get confused about more than one account..

dcs.log-20210701-104631.zip update. I deleted fxo and metashaders folders. it maybe fixed. It is fixed.... deleting those folders fixed it. I cannot beleive after al those years, I thought that was a thing of the past deleting those... apparently we stil have to use that fix once in a while... ============= I have to try to chang a few things back, things I changed while workingf ona fix, but maybe working correctly now, so far worked for a minute. Have not tried longer. ============ no issues until last patch, wed , yeaterday. No mods. No OC. Just get the Freeze and save logs file when I get to the fly screen. spent 4 hours last night trying so many things, renaming files, making sure everything is good. I fly in vr, but tried outside of vr, same issue. usually fly 10 hours as a week. Now cannot fly at all. Looking to see what the others are doing to fix this. Thanx for the help.

add me to this nightmare... it worked fine until the patch I spent like 4 hours workng on this last night,, I can't fly at all before it crashes... frozen with save the dxdiag file and logs.... I haven't looked at al the threads yet,, but there have to be a zillion of us that cannot fly after the patch... I have been flying in VR for several months... but apparently it doesn't care if you are 2d, 3d, or vr, stil crashes... I already ran repair like 20x. I renamed files to save them and let it rebuild them. I have the latest drivers. I even re-installed the laatest Nvidia graphics yesterday to make sure. I can run my other program and sims no issues. I say something inthe patch messed up something. Guess I am off to go reading the ther threads to see what is going on with the patch we just had in OB.

I cannot find any JU-88 threads in these forms, and before I post about it,, is there a dedicated thread for this wwii aircaft, and made by who? I made a wwii Normandy map, and all is working pretty nice. But, the JU-88 has some issues I cannot figure out. I have two groups of AI JU-88 taking off from an airfield, and two JU-88 are in one AI group, and the other group has four JU-88 AI taking off. They all have the SC 500 bombs, external. The fuel set to 40% on each aircraft. I believe the one plane that has an issue on take-off is the first one in the group with four JU-88. The first JU-88 continues going through trees, like they are invisible, and I think is actually a few feet off the ground. And it does not get bothered at al by the invisible trees. But then, finally after hundreds of feet, it hits an object (could be a tree I don't know) and gets partially destroyed. And just sits there with no wings. Allof the other aircraft in all groups have no problems proceed through the whole mission and come home. I cannot find a reason for this one JU-88 to have this take off problem. None of the other aircraft affect each other on takeoff, they each takeoff with lots of space between them in sible file, really nicely done. But this one aircraft never get fully inthe air before it crashes onthe ground. They al have the same everything. I have ran this mission maybe 10x. Any ideas? Thanx.

it eventually worked, but I ran repair and update 3x more,,, and it sorted...

more...now it's this message.. have not had a problem with dcs since I started flying dcs and using norton in 2000

yes hovering,,I can hover up a few hundred feel but not like how i hover in other helos at a few feet. It should make no difference the hover height, but down low it is much harder, less room to tweak it during the hover setup. Trim is abrupt and jumps violently when trimmer is applied. I know it is Beta. So maybe there are changes coming, who knows.... I have curves in for handling set at 11 in pitch and roll. Some people don't use curves others do.

oh yeah,, forgot that they treat each aircraft seperately, instead of the straight DCS version.

when you open DCS, on the top of the DCS screen there is a Box on the top left, open it and check off the aircraft you own and it download and install them.

actually, the rotor slap of a Blackhawk helo is probably the best example of very loud slap that covers great distances.

I have big problems to with the sams, and the radar not working properly any longer, I thought it was me, then I checked the forums and other people have problems too. 1 step forward 5 steps back....

I have several different ssd units in a couple computers. One of my ssd is from SP, Silicon Power, and it died, still under 3 year warranty. I have gone to Hynix and Samsung. Tired of the cheap ssd units, they just do not last. To anyone that starts buying and installing SSD, go with the best you can get, as when they quit working, the trouble isn't worth trying to save money. I looked online to see if other people have issues with some of the ssd brands, and they al seem to point out that the cheap ones are breaking in a short amount of time. I had two brands fail. Pioneer (they fixed their problem, but only after a lot of people got burned. My SP brand have not gotten back to me with an RMA. While the companies that sell SSD units often sell software (or give it with the purchase to clone other drives), it maybe worth investing in some more software that does drive work, cloning, partitioning, etc. but it is not cheap, and they have sales, but sometimes, you have to choose a yearly license update, or a lifetime update (but these often only install in one computer and cannot be moved to another computer. They have us by the hairs.

wow, just wow,, I have a lot of friends who went to vr flying, and if I do, I want a record to look up to remind me to stay away from this nightmare connected to Facebook... looks like I will never combine FB with video... now if I forget, this will remind me to not get screwed. Staying away from politics... but,,, watch what you support. I am sorry for those that got the royal screw, to me sounds like some very bad companies selling vr's.

Ok, so I have one set of speaker sin my 46" tv, using hdmi, and use that for Teamspeak, and I have a 5.1 speaker set I use for the simulator sounds. Two different sound setups, so I have independent control of sounds, between the chatter with TeamSpeak, and the other for the aircraft and bombs. I thought about getting a sound bar, Bluetooth, sound controls with more modern sound equipment. I do not want my house pulsing, or my eyes bleeding, I just want controls and decent sounds, I am older and don't want crazy sounds. I don't want headsets, headphones, etc, I can't take the noise in my old worn out ears. Any Suggestions? I do like surround sounds, etc. btw, the room is like 14' x14' wood floors no carpet.
