in real life bubble gum was used as a seal when an aircraft or fighter was ready to take off and there was a fuel leak on a fuel tank... I know I was in TAC the USAF. If we didn't do quick fixes we could never win wars. So enough with smart a** answers. Are these issues really shop stoppers in real life?

why does the f-18 not allow one to use weapons if the wheel door is broken? Imagine what it would be like if the weapons did not work on the A-10 if a panel was broken.

I really put this for all aircraft that fight A-A against planes with Jammer such as SU-33. When I Lock them, I get Jammed and lose the lock. I fight to get the lock back. I did a search in these forums and online, and did not get back any results that helped me. There maybe some videos on Youtube, but thought i would just come out and ask. What am I doing wrong, or how to aquire and keep the lock no matter what. Probably change from radar to IR? But then I lose the longer distance I am trying to use.

should have been left to pilots discretion, as it was probably so that HOJ could not be used against the Viper. When they decided against it, the pilots must have had a good reason why they didn't go with built in ECM.

Mig-17 is a very large plane.. more of an Interceptor..

you might have to unplug more than one usb device, leave the mouse, keyboard plugged in and run dcs. if al is well then plug back in joystick, and whatever else. A patch a while back game me issues and well.

at this point using a guessing model would be better... IMHO

I have Win11. I would say stay with Win10. Win11 has more work to be done, and I don't think it is proven it is any faster. Plus, it won't work in most older computers, at least without a hack. Win11 website and forums keeps up to date info.

Update, I think I fixed it. I had to uncheck match hotas settings with in cockpit settings, or whatever it says. I tried finding that issue and the fix, and I could not find that in the MFD. I think this is the same issue I am trying to find out what is broken. I used to have it set in my left throttle in my warthog, and left the lever down. Now I find it almost impossible to set my engine controls.

I did air start and APU ACC light is on F-18. What is going on? thanx. btw, I did a search and forum search is not so easy in DCS. Too wide of a net cast

I use a USB Xbox controller with the Apache, and it works fine. But, one issue is not loading automatically. I have to load it by doing a re-scan after I am in DCS. The column is not there in controls until I do a rescan for devices. I thought it was loading with windows, but now I just don't it until I add it after starting DCS, and adding it back into contollers. I don't have to alter the controls though, they are already set and saved. All my other controls come up when DCS is started. Thanx. update, I only forgot to load the Xbox app, I had changed it do it didn't start with windows. I should have remembered I made a post and didn't correct it until now.

I serviced an F-100 many years ago, can't see it in this photo but it did have a Swiss tail.

I did get my VR Zoom settings over to a USB XBox controller. It freed up a couple buttons on my HOTAS for each aircraft. it took a while to do all the modules.

the later models had some of the electronic warfare instruments we usually want in our fighters. They were just mostly analog instruments up until the 1970's. Strike Fighters had the F-4 Phantom in it. you can check out flying it, but that sim is pretty old now. IN real life it had about an hour and a half of fuel. Unless you went full AB. I spent three years with the 86th TAC and the F-4 Phantom. We had aircraft from F-4's with tail numbers from 1964 to 1970's but they were replacing them by 1981. Many variations. At one airbase we had the F-4 Wild Weasels. They took about 7 minutes to launch from a cold start (cold start only meant the aircraft was prepped (with full live AA and A-G weapons) at all times, just not with the engines running), using starter cartridges.

I did everything, uninstalling and re-installing was the only option after the fiasco. I had to use the UI Layer to put the VR Zoom controls back. No idea why the DCS module was the victim of the whole fiasco. All my VR zooms were suing different keys so I could not use the same keys and buttons for each module. I guess it is working now, but took a few days to figure all this out. Huge PIA! Thanx for the help though.

unfortunately the UI layer is not practical for me, because I have to many modules that have already utilized al of the keys and buttons. I would have to change all of the profiles, which of course is my problem. Too many modules to change for my VR zoom.

small note. I can't do the UI layer with the keys and bindings I prefer, because I have too many modules that have all of the other keys, buttons, and switches used. I had one of the hats or rockers working as the zoom before this fiasco.

Apparently those with Win11 - Windows Hardware GPU Advanced Scheduling has been included recently, So, it has to be shut off to work in games and sims. It caused me to not to be able to fly in DCS until I turned it off. Then, Another issue came up and I got the message that my Black Shark Module was no authorized. To me it looks like DCS thinks I got new hardware, and for some reason it singled out BS module and made it so I was unable to fly. I removed it. Was my only choice. I reinstalled the BS Module, and now I cannot fix the controls to where they were before the fiasco, and I have figure out how to fix those. I suppose I have to wait until there are a few more victims of this nightmare to pop up before DCS will find a way to remedy this issue. I am not sure which forum this belongs in. But maybe it will help someone else for now.

I had message, Black Shark no authorization, removed re-installed, now problems. My controls all porked. I cannot add back in my VR Zoom, for VR. How to fix controls? Thanx. anyone know how to fix my VR Zoom in BS? not will not accept that binding. It was working great for many years, then Win11 GPU scheduling caused DCS to crash, then I got a BS not authorized which caused DCS to not run, then I removed BS, and reinstalled it, and then DCS would run, then the binding got Borked. The cells in the control binding are closed, unable to open them for VR Spyglass zoom, which worked perfect until the FIASCO. Too many hours of trying to fix. I know about the joystick LUA files, but still cannot fix this problem. My VR and my Thrustmaster stick and MFG pedals all work fine in all of the other modules. Thanx

I totally removed Black Shark 2, which I have owned forever... and I think it works now... I am going to shut up for now I am really pissed.. thank you guys for help... I know it no ones fault so far...
