    simulation accuracy

Unfortunately that is simply not true for DCS where core changes to the AI, lighting, weather, etc. can break missions and campaigns long after a module is "finished" and the campaign "maker" has moved on to other projects. While the Mirage still had issues (FM tuning, etc.) 6 months after release - it's training and campaign missions probably never worked better with DCS, M-2000C and it's missions built and tested on a common version of DCS. I have to disagree but I guess your comment shows Razbam can never please "all of the people". Even before the latest Mirage updates, changes and new bugs in DCS were breaking mission triggers, etc. in missions/campaigns i.e. changes in airport parking sizes changed the location of large (C130) aircraft and blocked taxiways. The author(s) of these missions have a different skill set and mission edits require extensive testing and perhaps voice acting. As you might expect, after +5 years, circumstances change and it's not always possible for the author(s) to update missions as promptly as they would like (see A-10C Piercing Fury). IMHO it's great to see long standing issues such as HUD ILS logic, INS updates/errors, in depth radar simulation, etc. coming to the Mirage and while I would like the training missions to be updated in step with changes, understand why this is not always possible. Speculation I suspect Razbam have learned from maintaining the Mirage/AV-8B and the F-15E's training missions will be created in house.
  2. DMT TV is working fine for me - DMT LST/TV modes are toggled using Sensor Select Aft (short) in the Normal Sensor Select Mode. Perhaps this will help Tested DCS Open Beta 2.7.17.29493
  3. It should pan as normal using the mouse. Check that • Options>Controls>SA342>Axis Commands> Camera Horizontal View --> MOUSE X, etc. ... still have their default mouse assignments. Tested DCS Open Beta 2.7.17.29493
  4. I know people get bored waiting for the Kiowa but why make things up when the answer is in the Kiowa FAQ from 3 years ago ?
  5. This is from the Aerges DCS Mirage F1 Manual This diagram shows Aerges reasoning for their fuel capacities
  6. I don't see the behaviour you describe 1. Select FUZE 2. Set Fusing Type i.e. INST 3. Deselect FUSE to return to previous menu 4. Select TGTS 5. Select TGT Points cycling the TGTS option as req'ed 6. Cycle the TGTS option to the last ODU page 7. Select EXIT to return to previous menu Tested DCS Open Beta 2.7.17.29493
  7. Testing in single player, the fuel quantity was working correctly. Cold Start - ground power and battery ON, ground crew: rearm & refuel Initial loadout: Full Internal and center line tank (1200 L) --> 5371 litre • Full Internal --> 4248 litre • 50% Internal --> 2131 litre • Full Internal and 2x Wing tanks (1200 L) --> 6490 litre Comment Perhaps the mission you are testing in was created with ["F1AutoCounterSet"] = false For info. this is the Mirage-F1 section from my mission's .miz "options" file ["Mirage-F1"] = { ["F1SimplifiedGearLever"] = true, ["F1NewABDetentPos"] = 85, ["F1SimplifiedFiringSafety"] = true, ["F1ModifiedABDetentPos"] = false, ["F1AutoCounterSet"] = true, }, -- end of ["Mirage-F1"] Tested DCS Open Beta 2.7.17.39492
  8. You'll need to move the 3 position Throttle CNM (Cannon, Neutral, Magic) selector to Neutral (PCA) Options>Controls>M-2000C>HOTAS • CNM AA Gun = "C" • CNM MAGIC = "M" • CNM neutral (PCA SELECT) = "N" If still having an issue please post a short track or video and I'll try to see what you've missed.
  9. What is the mission's date and nationality of your Gazelle ? You may need to use "Options>Gameplay --> Unrestricted SATNAV = " if flying as a non-NATO country. Testing 27th March 1994 gave "NO GPS POSITION" as expected for DCS (i.e. prior to 28th March 1994) Testing 29th March 1994 using a French Gazelle SA-342L at Bassel Al-Assad, everything was as expected. Tested using DCS 2.7.17.29140
  10. The only list I'm aware of is this Goggle Earth .kml which lists RL bases and air strikes - ... you'd still need to compare and contrast RL with DCS but it's a good starting point.
  11. You should find the Tarawa under "Ships > USA > All --> LHA-1 Tarawa"
  12. Yes, the data page's text "turns red" when the INS mode switch is moved from "align" to NAV or IFA. AFAIK this is intended, the normal colour of the "data page text is red". IDRC being able to change the colour of the data page text from red, AFAIK this is intended.
  13. TPOD operation is usually pretty solid, were you in Normal sensor mode or TPOD HOTAS mode ? Without a screen shot, video or track - it's hard to tell if it was a procedure error on your part or a DCS bug. INS designation, etc. is being reworked as there are a number of know issues.
  14. IIRC the colour change is to let you know you are in an editing mode. There is also an option to change\cycle the EHSD's text colour.
  15. Not sure what you are asking for but if it's for the removal of Razbam's free KC-130, KC-135MPRS and LHA Tarawa assets (that are freely available to all DCS players), so they can be sold as paid DLC ? I hope it never happens. I honestly feel assets like these should be part of the base game and available to all (not locked behind a paywall). IIRC Razbam have said they might add a paid LHD but without a realistic AWLS or battle group ARG/MEU assets, to me it feels like "nickel and diming" and just another way to split the player/server base.
  16. 2:07 5000lb bingo warning, Loch Ness, 450 GS @ 500ft AGL 5:20 3000lb bingo warning, end, 5 g max, reduce speed to 420 GS 5:40 Bombing Range, WYPT 5 The clip is from the end of "Harrier: The Vertical Reality (Documentary 1996)" RAF Wittering (Peterborough) to Scotland. Assuming the external shots (49:27) are of the same flight, it looks like they were carrying 2x wing tanks (and perhaps 2x AIM-9 on the outrigger pylons ?) with simulated weapons/drops.
  17. I think this is to be expected as you are flying/landing much heavier (5.8 fuel remaining) than the uprated MLW Section 27, pages 661-662 of the current DCS Mirage manual v2.2.0. This is a real life "overhead break" procedure - as you can see even at the correct landing weight, it's flown much faster (i.e. 200 KIAS downwind leg) than "on-speed AoA"
  18. Do you mean the FLIR "hot spot" detector ? DCS Harrier [Grim Reapers]
  19. IIRC there are a number of servers that force "easy coms" on players - it's not a major issue for modules that support "easy coms" as it often just requires an additional button/key binding. But for EA\WIP modules that don't support "easy coms" i.e. Yak-52; it can restrict a modules inclusion in a server's slots. IMHO as "easy coms" is supported by 95% of modules, is an FC3 default and helps newbies get flying without needing to learn their radios - backwards compatibility should be a high priority to any dev and added shortly after EA release.
  20. I've no inside knowledge - so this is pure speculation. The original DCS Mirage 2000C was developed with limited resources and SME input - as a result features/info from the 2000D, 2000N, etc. were included, some times in error, some times to fill in for missing/restricted 2000C data. Working with the AdA has given Razbam the addition time, resources and SME feedback to rework the cockpit and avionics to better represent a "real" Mirage 2000C. IMHO this can only be a good thing. By way of compensation, our DCS version still carries several speculative systems that it perhaps wouldn't IRL i.e. TAF, Eclair-M, DDM, IIRC 530D left AdA service in 2012, etc.
  21. There are 5 airports on the South Atlantic map that have runways equipped with ILS • Mount Pleasant RWY 28 (280°M / 284°T), ILS 111.90 MHz • Rio Gallegos RWY 25 (246°M / 256°T), ILS 110.30 MHz (Loc Good / GS High then Low (not proportional ?)) • Rio Grande RWY 26 (249°M / 259°T), ILS 109.50 MHz • Punta Arenas RWY 25 (246°M / 258°T), ILS 109.90 MHz (not shown on F10 map "Airport Info" as that lists RWY 30/12) • Ushuaia RWY 25 (245°M / 257°T), ILS 111.30 MHz Testing using the F-16C and zero wind, all 5 ILS's were transmitting with only the Rio Gallegos's RWY 25 "Glide Slope" seeming to have issues ? Re: TACAN beacons 3x Airports lack TACAN beacons • Rio Gallegos • Punta Arenas • Ushuaia ... but the Portable TACAN Beacon (found in the ME under "Fortification>Beacon TACAN Portable TTS 3030") can be added as desired (Channels 10X, 20X and 30X were tested) DCS Open Beta 2.7.16.28157
  22. OP was landing on RWY 05 - as you say, it doesn't have ILS, hence the VOR/DME chart. Not sure why the OP set the ILS course to 102°M, perhaps I'm missing something ?
  23. Reverse (1950 Revolutions Per Minute) is used to clear the gun of ammunition. I see nowhere in Tactical Manual Volume 2 a fire rate of 1950 "Rounds Per Minute"
  24. AFAIK the manual is being rewritten and sections 1-15 are simply the "finished" part of a larger WIP manual. IDK about soon, but am expecting additional sections covering weapons, etc. to be added plus a few section 1-15 minor corrections/revisions.
  25. There have been a number of trials and proof of concept tests integrating the Harrier into fixed wing carrier operations • AV-8A: 1976 - 1977 14x AV-8A (VMA-231), USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CV-42), Mediterranean Cruise • AV-8B: 1988 -1991 Limited testing/use AV-8B, USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67), Integration tests and Desert Storm So for a "semi-realistic/historic" DCS scenario with Harriers operating off a "Super Carrier", you'll want to set it in an older (ODS) time frame, with older weapons (IRMavs, Sidearms, No TPOD, etc) and working alongside older aircraft i.e. F-14, A-7, A-10A, etc. https://jalopnik.com/the-time-when-av-8-harriers-deployed-aboard-a-fixed-win-1692022146 As you've noted, AFAIK modern Harrier operations use amphibious carriers but I'm sure the USMC would operated off a fixed wing carrier if there were good reasons to do so i.e. logistics, etc.
