  1. Probably because of UAC. Turn it off or run setup with administrator rights or install not to "Program Files" directory.
  2. There is such thing as autopilot oscillations, when autopilot over controls and makes need for more correction and then over controls once again and so on. Maybe Ka-50 is smart enough and turns AP off when these oscillations are detected?
  3. I think "watch" is bad word as it is suitable more for describing looking at something regularly or protractedly. Probably "Check EKRAN" is good candidate, because "Look at EKRAN" is too long.
  4. Are you referring to GRID mode? "Сетка" - grid, "Сотка" - 100.
  5. I still think it is ministick. :smilewink: Restart your pc, click throttle icon next to clock and choose Control Panel; is ministick's "+" centered? There is one problem with above test. With older Saitek SST my mouse cursor begins to drift right after SST icon appears, but with latest (beta) that begins only when game is started, so with the latest version you probably should: restart the pc, open that X52 control panel, launch the game and alt+tab out of it to look at already opened control panel to see if ministick is centered. That broken ministick behaviour appeared for me after 1.5 years of light use. It begins to work correctly if I move it a few times, but it is not comfortable to do that after every startup. I have solved it by adjusting deadzones of ministick so that it does not generate any mouse movement even when it is errorously shifted after startup.
  6. Probably the problem is X52 ministick which with all drivers installed defaults to mouse control. Try moving ministick to see if it effects creeping mouse cursor.
  7. I find it strange that TA symbol does not appear on destroyed vehicles. Are destroyed vehicles supposed to have better camouflage and to blend into background more easily? :glare:
  8. Is AP channels ON? If yes, then you should see the difference.Try to bank it. Without FD, you will have to hold cyclic deflected to have banking angle of not zero (if it was trimmed to angle of 0), with FD you will have to neutralize cyclic after certain banking angle is reached.
  9. With radar or without it, Ka-50 will be very good candidate to be blown to that 10000 metal pieces if it is engaged by fighter.
  10. Radar is not needed for IR missile launch. Basically, IR seeker could be slaved to HMS. You look at target, get a tone and launch the thing. Although A2A missiles look like nice option, but the fact is that they take pylons, which can be used also for A2G munitions. Trading useful A2G stuff for optional A2A one isn't very good idea for attack helicopter.
  11. Most false positives and slowdowns come from heuristic analysis, which tries to detect unknown possible virus. The funny thing that it often identifies legit programs as malware and still lets true malware to slip through. I tend to turn heuristics off, as its provided additional security isn't worth for me the resources it eats.
  12. Vikhr is pretty effective as missile, just its aiming and locking process isn't.
  13. It seems that IR stuff is not very effective against helicopters (at least in this simulation). No one else noticed this? :)
  14. Give him MD5 checksums, so he could test integrity of downloaded files at home.
  15. I think the difference between 1 and 2 (angle vs rate) is the point of Ka-50 AP stabilization. Notice this is not the same as with rudder and heading hold. If you have heading hold on and move rudder, AP will try to compensate and you will have to apply even more rudder to overwhelm AP; after you neutralize the rudder, AP will try to apply opposite rudder and return the aircraft to previous heading which it is trying to hold. Doing that (changing heading without designating new heading to AP) is fighting with AP. This is also true if you try to change heading only with cyclic. It may seem that requirement to hold cyclic deflected to keep banking angle is like fighting against AP as it returns to 0 bank when cyclic is neutralized. Especially it may seem so if you are used to aircrafts whose don't do so. For most pilots the most common reaction to cyclic (or stick) inputs to sides is change to rate of roll (the more you deflect, the faster the aircraft rolls), however Ka-50 stabilization works differently: the more you deflect, the bigger angle of bank (not the rate) you get. Lets compare. We turn the FD on. We move cyclic to side by 15 degrees. Aircraft begins to roll slowly. We neutralize the stick when angle of bank reaches 20. We have aircraft flying with angle of bank 20. Now, we bring aircraft to angle of bank 0 to repeat the test. This time we deflect the cyclic by 30 degrees (twice the amount than before). Aircraft begins to roll again, but much quicker than before. We neutralize the stick when angle of bank reaches 20. So, with different deflection we get the same angle of bank (if we neutralize the stick when it is reached), however the difference in cyclic deflection makes the difference in time which was required to get the same result (angle of bank). In other words cyclic deflection to side is related to rate in which angle of bank changes. Now, we turn the FD off. We move cyclic to side by 15 degrees. Aircraft begins to roll and stops rolling when angle of bank reaches (for simplicity sake lets say) 15 degrees. We neutralize the cyclic and aircraft returns to 0 angle of bank. Now we deflect the cyclic by 30 degrees. Aircraft rolls and stops at angle of 30 degrees. We deflect the cyclic by 20 degrees and aircraft stops rolling at 20 degrees and so on. In other words angle of cyclic deflection to sides is related to angle of bank and not to rate at which angle of bank changes. It is not fighting with AP you encounter, but almost different control method when FD is off. AP isn't reversing your inputs to fight you, it just transforms your input to something else to what you are not used to.
  16. Open that mission in mission editor and check weather settings, look for turbulence. Is it 0? If not, try to make it 0 and fly to that valley for a test.
  17. The thing with banking comparison is difficult, because of the difference how banking is done with AP on and AP off. In fact, I don't see how to make valid comparison. Lets assume that our input is deflection angle of cyclic (to left or right), then we get these outputs: AP channels on, FD off: angle of bank; AP channels on, FD on: rate at which banking angle changes; I maybe simplified too much, but that is how these things look to me. Because of different output type, the amount and duration of input to achieve and hold the same banking angle is different of course. Regarding rudder, it seems the same (with AP or without AP) for me when Heading/Course hold is in the middle position.
  18. Do you have other games? Maybe something with SecuROM? Mostly SecuROM can be blaimed for slow optical drive. If you have one of such games, make research on SecuROM too, that thing isn't nice.

  20. How this AP fight against pilot shows itself? I notice some kind of "rebel" only when AP heading hold is on, but this is normal as it is supposed to hold the heading. Can you describe the fighting by describing input and output in away like: if I apply deflection, the AP does this...?
  21. What I have observed is that commander and wingman mode is almost the same. The only difference is that you have bold mark in other pilots ABRIS when you are in commander mode. Any ID can be in Commander mode. Even all 4. However, there is no point for doing that.
  22. Su-25 should be able to carry CAБ-100.

  24. No, I think there is a problem in English manual. Page 2-66 of English manual: However, it is stated that "KOM" is mode for (of) leader on the page 2-59 of Russian manual: Additionally, page 7-6 of English manual says: Also, the one who has set that knob to "KOM" is displayed with very fat mark on ABRIS of other flight members. It makes sense, because commander has to be easily distinguished from other flight members. I am flying the multiplayer from the beginning of Russian DVD release by assuming that KOM is mode for Commander and can assure that in this mode I can receive/send target information from/to pilots whose have set ВЕДОМ (WINGMAN) as their mode.
  25. Most people do the same, that is why this thread is 22 pages long already. The same questions are asked, the same answers and arguments are given; such threads are proof that time flows in circle - everything in the future will be the same as in the past and there will be no end for this. :smilewink:
