  1. Please, post complete settings of your NVIDIA control panel.
  2. It is sensitive to hard maneuvering. Some attitude indicators can only tolerate a specific range of bank angles. If the aircraft rolls too steeply, while performing aerobatics, the attitude indicator can "tumble" and become temporarily unusable. For this reason, some attitude indicators are fitted with a "cage" or "zero-ing" switch to reset it. In WWII this sensitivity to maneuvering tended to induce mistakes of some novice pilots: they tried to use ADI for orientation after they have entered cloud in the heat of dogfight and of course ADI showed nonsense.
  3. Windows Server 2003 x64 SP2
  4. In fact, I have talked about S-8. Currently we can use 2 types of S-8 rockets: KOM (shaped charge + fragmentation) and CM (signal smoke). I think S-8 with HE warhead (mentioned as S-8M in link, Namenlos Ein has provided) should make much more damage (with increased radius) to infantry and less to armored stuff than S-8KOM. Well, as it is said in that link, if everything is ok, new rocket types will be provided with patch.
  5. They look to be more AP than HE. Kinda useless weight, as 30mm HE shells has greater effect, at least it seems so.
  6. Try the orange icon instead of blue one to launch a game.:smilewink: Don't forget to look at options screen.
  7. Notice that cannon fires immediately, and only rockets/missiles lag. This delay is realistic feature.
  8. Yes, it will. That method with Shkval can be called auto track. It is accurate, but time consuming method. Imagine you are escorting some transport helicopters and suddenly unfriendly infantry pops up in unexpected place. Well, you will loose a lot of time by picking those soldiers with Shkval. That's where comes sight mode. It works this way: you maneuver so that impact point cue is on the target and press AUTO LOCK, range gets measured and impact point cue adjusted - very quick method. For more information look in English manual 7-27.
  9. No. You need to use laser range finder to measure range for unguided weapons. If you fail to do so, wrong impact point will be calculated (rockets will hit not where target cue in HUD is showing). Error increases as range increases, so at long range it is wise to measure range before firing (especially when there is a lot of time to do that). As I said, you can do that in 2 ways: using Shkval with autotrack, or with sight mode (it is quicker way when time is short and threat is close). From 200-300m I can hit without using laser range finder, because error is too small to make a difference. It is doesn't mean you should fire from that range, just sometimes such situation arises. It is quicker to kill unprotected convoy making funnel around it when making passes.
  10. Don't forget to use laser range finder. Without range information targeting cue is very inaccurate. You should lock the target with Shkval and align both circles before firing; or you should switch to sight mode (from autotrack) and measure range to target manually before firing. In sight mode you have to put targeting cue over target and press AUTO LOCK button to get the range. Without range measurement you will get statisfactory result only when firing from distance of 200-300m and alike.
  11. Because you can always create your own server on localhost ant play multiplayer campaign alone.
  12. Don't forget to turn anti-dust system on before taking off from unprepared locations.
  13. He means Falcon 4.0: Allied Force by Lead Pursuit. It is old Falcon 4.0 modified to run on modern systems.
  14. When you have assigned axis to some in game control, look at the bottom where a lot of buttons (like "Asign") are. Press the one which means something like "Edit axis" or "Setup axis". It will open a window with curve, deadzone and etc.
  15. In fact ED has responded. Not by email, but by posting in this thread. Look under posters avatars and you will see who is affiliated with ED. It is tradition that support is given via forum and not by email. It is good way because 1)Community can add their help; 2)Community can directly talk to developers; 3)Resolution to single user problem can be viewed and used by other users. You may ask why number of post from ED is so small. Well, why should they ask the same questions which are already given by community members? It just might look like there is no support, but in fact support is offered.
  16. You seem to like the idea "customer is always right" and try to put pressure with "I gave up" and "I want my money back". Somehow I think it won't make good results. Most people, which are trying to help you, are not working for ED, they are just community members and are offering help because of ... (I don't know really why, maybe because of kindness). If you have problem, we will try to resolve it, but you will need to cooperate. Be kind and you will be rewarded. You have stated that you are not good with computers. Well, this fact is important and makes helping you more difficult. Root directory in Windows is the top most directory of disk (i.e. "C:\", "D:\" and etc.); To get the path of file (the directory where it resides) press right mouse button on file and choose properties. The path will be shown after label "Location".
  17. Probably you should have to make your turn with pressed trim button and release it only when you are perfectly aligned with your new course. If you make your turn without trim button pressed, you will have to fight autopilot. The amount required to negate corrections of autopilot will contribute to over trim. To summarize: you should make corrections only when trim button is held pressed; making corrections and only then pressing trim gives problems. P.S.: of course you can make a turn without trim pressed, just after that make any final corrections while trim is held pressed.
  18. Depth perception is overrated thing. It works good while playing basketball or driving car, however its usefulness decreases as range increases. In case when other aircraft is far away, not the eyes, but your brains are determining the range based on observed size of object (when true size is known). True measurement by eyes begins when they are focused to something closer than infinity. In game the problem is not that you see only the dot, but that dot does not grow nicely: dot, dot, still dot, object. It means that there is problem determining the range if object flies into you or runs from you when it is at range between Max_object_range and Max_dot_range. We need to wait for future hardware. :)
  19. Filter to "Axis" (in RED) not to "Collective" or anything else.
  20. Why this information was not included in manual? If it was, maybe this thread would not exist at all or at least the problem in it would be formulated in different manner; and ED would not had to review those long tracks. :smilewink:
  21. I think in real Ka-50 you always have full input in the controls (trim button pressed or not). Trim only changes the position to which controls return after pressure is removed. It is pretty straightforward. Trim works differently in DCS. As there are no pedals with FFB support, there is no way to get real life behaviour. Instead of moving positions to which pedals should stick without pressure, neutral position of axis is moved. This approach has side effect which are very noticeable in situations when controls are trimmed at extreme (like in your described situation). Let's make distinction between real axis of real pedals and axis of virtual pedals. Let's assume that both axis are in range of [-10;10]. Without trim both axis have the same neutral position which is at 0. If you move controller to position -5 (half left) then in game pedals are moved to the same -5 - everything is good. Now let's try to use trim. Move controller to position -5, press trim. release trim and neutralize controller. After that controller is in position 0, but in game pedals is at position -5 - so far so good - intended behavior. Now the problem. We have in game pedals at half left position and controller at neutral. Let's try to move in game pedals to true neutral: we move controller half right and in game pedals moves to position 0. What we get? We get ability to move in game axis to the full right in range [0;10], but real controller is already at half right and only can be moved by another half, which will translate to in game position of only 5. So by using trim, we are chopping positions off from other side of axis. How much we chop, depends on how much deflected the control is when we trim. I hope it helps to explain the behaviour you have observed.
  22. You can make seasonal skins. Desert skin can be good for autumn. :smilewink:
  23. Inside DCS. You need to select "Axis" (colored red) from drop down list to see axis assignments, then select a function to which you want to assign an axis; press a button which is named something like "Assign" and choose needed axis of stick in shown window. In the same window you will find that box "Slider". I can't name labels and buttons more specifically, because I have Russian version.
  24. Currently, AI flights can't refuel and rearm. If you wan't to force them to landing because of Bingo fuel state, try to set low speed or make a loop.
  25. Tracks works in "delta" way. Only the very first coordinates are saved and after that only the changes are recorded. In other words, you are watching not a record, but resimulation.
