  1. Think about how a game looks when you turn anti-aliasing off. While it's paused the jagged edges are not terribly noticeable. But when the image starts moving around (e.g. while using Track-IR) the harsh edges start shimmering horribly. That's all that's happening with the shadows in DCS. Even on 'High' they are relatively low resolution and at certain angles they just look like saw-tooths. If you want to dabble with the shadow resolution check this thread.... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=218208
  2. It's because you're moving the plane. The shadows are not connected to your pedals. I promise. e: look
  3. The shadows become blocky/jagged at certain angles - that's just a DCS thing. But the reason they're 'shimmering' when you move your pedals is that you're turning slightly the nose of the aircraft.
  4. It's something else, I think. Resetting the trim (CTRL-T) now works flawlessly - there's not a hint of roll once you reset it (it's still a nightmare trying to do it manually, though). Engaging L-ALT-7 (transition to level flight) with a neutrally trimmed aircraft nevertheless results in oscillations. They start around 600kp/h and get worse as the speed increases. Disengaging L-ALT-7 leaves you at the mercy of the oscillations and your aileron trim is wherever the AP left it mid-oscillation - which then requires you reset the trim. I'm thinking the AP is hunting for a center that might not exist.

    Gauge lights

Works great, thanks Rudel & Hiro.
  6. This is happening with neutral aileron trim; it's not a new thing - https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=222109
  7. So....the LEF 'bounce' is gone, dead. The air-frame now shakes during high alpha/stall. The trim now resets correctly to center. The autopilot is still a bit mad.... And this... ....I don't know what this means.
  8. The really short wheelbase doesn't help
  9. Oh....he went there....
  10. I think crystal is spelled wrong - 'cristal' Unless that's the champagne button(!)
  11. I do love the way the 29 rears up during take-off.
  12. ? Just use the rudder control (flaps up for increased turn-rate).
  13. Happens with it on or off, but it's much more pronounced with the head-movement option enabled. Quick vid - (this is with the 'head movement' off)
  14. Yes, unfortunately it fails the multiplayer integrity check. Looks great, though. e: and murders your FPS.
  15. I plugged the 'ultra' numbers into the 'high' preset but couldn't see any difference.
  16. Strange one this - filed under the category 'once you see it you can't un-see it' As you pass through different strengths of G your pilot gets a 'kick in the backside'. When you hit 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G etc the pilot bounces in his seat. This is not plane-specific. Best to see it in action....In the video I gently enter a turn and gradually increase the G-load... And you'll also notice that as the G-load decreases the pilot bounces all the way back down again 5G, 4G, 3G...etc.
  17. I've mapped it on the space-bar. It's safely out of reach during normal flight but dead easy to hit when the bad people show up.
  18. Good info, thanks - it seems our 29 has a dicky damper.
  19. Happened to me a few times - what's happening is that while from your perspective you're performing a gentle turn/wing-over, from the engine's perspective you're entering a zero-G parabola - a bit like the vomit comet they use to train astronauts.
  20. I've tried with different SAR missiles but I'm not seeing the red launch indications.... I can lock & fire the missiles OK so I think I'm doing everything right.
  21. Good idea! :) I've divided the axis into nine zones but I could easily delete a further two (I don't think the GROM will even sit on pylons 3/4 so that can probably go). You're right it's a bit strange in practice, and my palm has a tendency to rest on the knob I'm using, but it works well - I'll see how it goes.
  22. From the video cro_mig_21 posted.... :)
  23. How 'limited' is the ground attack - just rockets & bombs?
  24. Ah, so they redesigned it....I was thinking they just welded the bottom half shut :)
  25. This sounds similar to the system in our Su-25A.
