  1. Not really, I happen to remember that some time ago it was said that recording while compressing could creating some stuttering in game, since I had a couple of unusual instances where the game did just that, and I saw that Tacview was recording as zip, I wondered if that could be the reason behind the stuttering. It's even possible I recall incorrectly what was written. Thank you for your answer, BuzyBee, and since we're talking about compression: can old tracks be compressed via the program? If yes, how? Thank you in advance for your time!
  2. Wonderful! I see there's a Ranger, too, in the User files section of the website: now we only need an Independence.... Any volunteer?
  3. In my Tacview, I keep seeing dead (grey) unit icons, when they die... there must be an option you can change for that.
  4. Hi there! I'm sure I missed something along the way, but... I just installed 1.8.7, coming from 1.8.5, now all of my tracks are compressed by default. Have the option to disable compression been removed? I can't find it anymore in the Tacview option tab under DCS -> Options -> Special.
  5. I flew the Huey yesterday night, using rockets and miniguns, the AI didn't get stuck, IIRC, when I switched back from rockets to minigun. If anything, the SOB on the left seat is too aggressive when you set its behaviour to "free fire", when I selected rockets to fire myself, he switched back to miniguns on its own!
  6. Using differential braking is tricky, especially in the tight spaces of a carrier: if you press the brake and the wheel steers too much in any direction (say, more than 20 degrees), the wheel will tend to stay in this position. You'll need power and space to "force" it in the other direction, usually not by a single prolonged pressure of the brake in the direction you want to go, but by repeatedly pumping the brake while applying power; the amount of power and timing and force of the pumping action is something for which you'll have to get a feel by trials and errors, but in a little while, you should be able to handle it in any condition. As a general rule, never apply too much and prolonged pressure on the brake when you want to turn, always do that by repeatedly and lightly pressing the pedal: tip-tip-tip-tap!
  7. Since the bet about the Italian Air Force anniversary didn't pay out, we need a new hypotesis about which to obsess, however short lived it may be! So, today it's newsletter day, which means possible announcements day! Tomorrow will be 40 years since the Argentinians took the Falkland/Malvinas and both the South Atlantic terrain and the MB-339 are linked to that war: will their release be announced today?
  8. We're sharing that dream! I'd really love to have the AMX ACOL of the Italian Air Force!
  9. I'm back online, too!
  10. Tell me about it, it's the whole day I'm waiting to come home and play and now...
  11. Hey guys, I can't login into the game, I keep getting this error message: The web site is not available at the moment. Offline mode requires a saved password and a successful login to operate. Everything seems to be fine with my connection (I'm writing from the same PC I use to play) and Skatezilla's GUI shows a good connection to the Internet and DCS update servers.... Any idea what's going on? Is there a problem on ED end?
  12. Tell me about it! The Huey is the only whisk I have! The Vietnam War fever I'm experiencing since the F-4 announcement and the A-4E-C version 2 had me dust the old chopper... I guess I'll have to put it in the hangar again for a little while more.
  13. No fix for this in the changelog...
  14. Check the multiplayer option when you start the session (should be under "advanced" or something similar), IIRC, the host server options override any mission specific ones. In any case, guys, could I suggest that you post your questions in this thread, Liberation's official one? [ALL MODULES][SP/CO-OP] Liberation Dynamic Campaign
  15. You're welcome! Just check everything I told you, "my Morse is so rusty, I could be sending you dimensions on Playmate of the Month"!
  16. Hey Daz! Installing Liberation it's pretty easy, it comes in a zip archive, you just have to unzip it and, at the first run, the program will ask you to give it the path for your DCS folders. It does change some files (actually, I believe only one in the Script folder), but this doesn't trigger the integrity check and you can go online without troubles. You can find more info and help in the specific liberation thread, here: and on the Liberation Github page and wiki, here: https://github.com/dcs-liberation/dcs_liberation/wiki Uninstalling is as easy as deleting the main Liberation folder, the Liberation saves folder in your \Saved Games\DCS folder and restore the modified file in the DCS Script folder, in the main installation of the game.
  17. Hey guys, one question: does changing the fuzing on Snakeye bombs change the way they're delivered? I mean free fall (like regular MK 80s) if I set it to "nose/tail" and high drag if I set it to "tail"?
  18. It's the anniversary of the foundation of the Italian Air Force: 99 years tomorrow.
  19. Whatever is the truth, I believe will have an update tomorrow (if not an official release announcement), given the significance of the date. In any case, it'd be nice to have an update, even to plan the next purchases.
  20. A video on the G-91 that's being restored to flying condition to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Aeronautica Militare https://www.facebook.com/warbirddigest/videos/fiat-g-91-engine-test/711159576566976/
  21. You're welcome, sorry it can't be of much help...
