reported earlier Al Dhafra air base ILS issues
Madone replied to breakneckPace's topic in Bugs and Problems
will this be adressed? :music_whistling: -
Awesome job, thanks A LOT!!

wow way overkill man, realistically it is good not to force the kit to over adjust the trajectory or the bomb will bleed energy and impact with a flat angle. +10k feet AGL should be good enough. To summarize for OP, make sure laser codes are the same, make sure the lasing A/C is not masking the laser spot by flying roughly the same heading, lase at least 8 seconds, then if you have good visual, delivery on WP grid or on visual is up to you.

oh yeah totally brainfarted there! Edited.

I don't see why you'd need a subscription when the cash flow comes from the new players buying modules, and the old player base buying more recent ones or what they don't have yet. Subscription is more about renting something, DCS is not Netflix, you'd expect to buy one module and have the choice to not have the others. Some people don't want 20 modules to fly.

This thread is useless, you don't bring anything other than your rant. Everybody knows beta has bugs, stable as well because some stuff takes more time to fix. DCS never stops growing and modules are a constant WIP, it's a compromise. The patch was released yesterday and you're already all over the forums, get some patience.

As QuiGon said, you need target correlation! For bomb on target, you'll acquire visually the target with a talk on, use FIDO method, From (known point), In direction of (NSEW), Distance (made up unit or meters if small) and Objective (self explanatory). Basic rule is go from bigger to smaller features, use colored things, use orientation and set some points (Alpha bravo..) if your final objective is far. If bomb on coordinates, you're screwed with the Mirage C, I've never done it and it's out of the question but if you have no choice and your drift isn't too crazy, you could type in the coordinates (DDD°MM.MM which is annoying for the guy passing the grids...) as a waypoint and then correlation will be the readback from your system. Once done, line up within 10 miles and pray that, first, time of fall is long enough under ceiling and second, that your AG designate was accurate enough... lol good luck I had F16's buddy lase for me before and it worked on and off, needs more testing.

As the pic demonstrates above, aircrafts loaded or not are very heavy and are only supported by 4 small/thin wheels with tires inflated so it can keep up with high speeds at T/O and landing, so if you happen to run into the sand or soft grass IRL you'll get stuck and can call safety to fix your s*** ^^ But the way physics work in the sim are off indeed and it's incredibly annoying to get stuck like in glue! Usually the cause for me as always been overspeeding during taxi so ... can't blame ED

Yes, "destroying" an MBT is wasteful or a lucky hit at most, killing the crew or damaging tracks/ turret is what you're looking for. Neutralize. I don't know much about Lybia but it sounds fair since paveway III is about three times more accurate!
-
And that's an issue! Btw I learned IRL that if you lay under a truck to hide from a bombing (which is what most ppl would do), chances are your organs are going to burst inside of you cause the chassis will increase the blast pressure when passing under! Anyway, I was just mentioning that MBT's are not so vulnerable to bombs, but anything lighter amored tho... would be nice to see proper PI radiuses but idk if ED wants to/can?

I have to disagree with this. First, ballistics are complicated to get right because there are many factors (ground, target armor, angles, shrapnels...) and also in that case you'd be surprised how well a tank can resist a 500lbs bomb falling within 10 meters, the crew not so much though! Keep in mind bombs are not a good pick against armored and moving targets, lasing can do the trick with slight movement but you'd prefer missiles or 30mm in most cases.

Weight of the A-10C before landing ...
Madone replied to CTBlankenship's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
it's easy to make yourself a chart using the mission editor or the doc -
Hello all, First of all I've been away from DCS 7 years and just came back on the Hog and the evolutions and pletora of modules is awesome! Some of you will say I'm nitpicking but it's irking when someone tells me he's gonna pass on UTM's and sends MGRS instead hehe Coordinates can be in MGRS format and that's fact, but some people will speak about UTM and indeed it says UTM in the manual and on the rotary. There's a discrepancy as a chapter in the manual clearly explain MGRS/UTM correctly. Why did ED choose to code "UTM" on the rotary, is it that way in the real bird? It would seem weird to me as in the military we like things to be accurate to avoid confusion, especially with grids... I never approched a real A10 cockpit yet but I did with the Rafale and it uses "MGRS" in the menus.

Strafe angle and riccochet in danger close tasking
Madone replied to Puma's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
This is partly true. Danger close means friendlies are in close proximity of the target. Close proximity is determined by the weapon and ammunition fired. It requires GC initials to be cleared. I would add that you can mitigate the damage to reduce or even remove a danger close (delay, covers..). As for the attack heading, the rule of thumb is to simply keep the gun target line from crossing the friendly position both during and after the attack run. The attack heading and egress is determined not only by friendlies but also by threats, arty and hazards! But as HanSolo said, it's safer to fly on a parallel bearing, because in combat, longs or shorts can still happen (mistake or misfire) and it really feels unsafe to have a plane dive right on and over you. I advise you also mitigate and think twice about the ordnance, even though the sim has standards for what destroys what. Collateral damage management is a 3 days long class lol -
Strafe angle and riccochet in danger close tasking
Madone replied to Puma's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
It's difficult to work around ricochet with just the dive angle, depends what your target is, hard/soft, flat/vertical, dispersion, you need to consider also that a non-permissive environment f.e will force you to fly low and appear on the target very late hence low angle. So it's best to figure an attack heading first then combine with your angle solution. Since were talking about DC, attack heading is JTAC's decision, angle depends from the pilot once the JTAC gave him deconfliction. @FlyingPhotog That's correct, rockets are the less accurate of them all. The DC radius on those things is often around 500m lol It's really tricky to use. -

Freetrack 2.2 and PS3 Eye Toy --- Access violation
Madone replied to Bexx0r's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi Bexx0r, I'm sad to hear you're still facing issues with FreeTrack 2.2, I haven't played the sim for months now so I don't know if it still works correctly. But I can tell you that you don't need to see the headtracker in the DCS options, all your tweaking has to be done through the freetrack software itself, not ingame. You also need to point out the dll, go to the game directory then DCS World\Scripts\Input and open the file Input.lua Line 30 to 31 you should have : -- path to headtracker plugin dll Input.setHeadTrackerDllPath('./bin/headtracker/headtracker.dll') I hope this helps. Regards. PS: I'll be away the next 3 days so don't expect me to answer quickly :/ -
C'est pour cela que je m'exprimais avec réserve, au temps pour moi si ça fonctionne! :)

Players should stop calling the ones that don't play/like their game "haters". I don't like GTA V, though I'm not gonna rumble through forums to insult devs and players. I also don't like the apology of violence... Druid and karambiatos have both a pretty good point. It might be a game, but I feel that these days, we can do a lot of things just because it's a game... It's not even the fact that it's a PEGI 18 game, for example, Dishonored is 18+, I play it and I love it, because I know that I have the choice to kill or not at least, I can decide to play under fair rules for myself. In GTA V, you are forced to torture. I used to play Vice city when I was 12 with a friend and well... it was fun to bring a tank in the street (everybody like to blow **** up!), but after 8 hours of gameplay, I found the game completely boring and pointless, I mean there was no goal but kill peoples for nothing. :( Still it's a cool looking game (from what I saw) for a console game! I'm not here to flame, I think the ED forumers are mature enough to play this game or not, that's just my 2 cents as well. I wouldn't buy it for my 10 yrs old kid if I had one that's for sure.

: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1762609&postcount=23 Cordialement :)

WTH happened to the load times?
Madone replied to ScottishMartialArts's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
+1, it's time to upgrade to atleast 8GB of RAM if you can, I already saw the game using 4.2GB by itself... -
About those wingtip vortices & engine smoke ...
Madone replied to Echo38's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Speaking about engine smoke... I saw a formation of 2 Mirage 2000's in a low level flight over my house this morning, then they turned East to climb up and I noticed that only one aircraft (the wingman) produced some engine smoke but for a short period of time (like 3 or 5 sec). I don't know how ED will code, that seems so random to me oO If they want it reallistic, that will surely be a pain in the a**... -
