  1. I had a friend who was into aviation and had MS Flight Simulator, that was like 15 years ago, he made me try, then I waited until 2011 to have my own PC and discovered Lock-On, later I got the A10C, immediately hooked.
  2. +1 I never understood why the sea was looking odd when flying low, now I know!
  3. @Mabuggiyes that's what I'm looking for, when managing the unit on F10 map, maybe I just didn't click the right unit or something, I will check again because I don't think it's broken.
  4. So after playing around with artillery for SEAD, I think it could be improved, first I don't get why the coordinates system is Lat Long in the targeting window while it should be MGRS (switching format with Alt+Y didn't change that). The Max Ordinate has no unit, I think it's meters and the firing solution I guess is dip shooting because 1000m is very low for 155mm. It just lacks indications, proper MTO should include GTL/ Max ord(AGL or MSL)/Time of fall The lack of method of control is a big problem for SEAD, ASAP/TOT/TTT would be a plus. And I used to see a timer to know where they were in the laying process but I can't seem to see it anymore. Add different type of rounds like illumination and smoke. And on an other topic, we need full motion video for JTAC's...
  5. Hope everything goes well in testing then hehe imo the best map in DCS so far
  6. Don't motherboards all have surge protection nowadays?
  7. Hi you'll need to send us more infos to figure out your issue. Can you send a dxdiag and your dcs.log? Also do you have any overclock? Mods installed? If you can't reach the main menu then something might not load. Try a DCS update and cleanup following these instructions : https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/repair/
  8. You're so fast man! Awesome work thank you!!
  9. It was already reported a while ago and the issue is with ED engine so nothing RAZBAM can do. [CORE DCS ISSUE] Cockpit lighting - Resolved Bugs - ED Forums (eagle.ru)
  10. No GPS guided bombs should be released at 1000ft AGL, it will not arm itself, no gps signal (INS calc take even longer), will flatten impact angle and you will most likely be within the frag pattern at impact, basically it's not within the enveloppe. GPS/INS or even hybrid bombs need minimum 5000ft AGL (for laser) but if you want 90° it will usually be above 18000ft-ish! Take that with a grain of salt as it's a rule of thumb for 500 pounders. But gives you the general idea. I tested yesterday, the altitude/velocity/distance ratio seems off, it landed consistently short at 18000ft but almost overshot when releasing at 12000ft, with the A10C.
  11. @Frederf You got me wrong, I never said I need take off trim, I said I need to reset the trim while flying. I trim the A/C to land but when I wave off after my touch ang go I want to reset the trim because adding power will raise the nose and second because I want to practice the next landing with a neutral A/C.
  12. I saw it this summer displayed by the new pilot, awesome demo as always! good filming!
  13. Hey, this some very old docs! 1998/1995! The only one you should bother with in your list is the joint pub from 2014(which was already posted on the forum), but even then things change fast in CAS TTP's. I'm always looking for pilots to do CAS with, I do have some missions!
  14. Hmm not sure which unit are we talking about? You can definitely give orders without having to hop in the vehicle. Use the menu on the lower left to give formation and path/target order, though sometimes you have to double check because CA can be reluctant . I personally do that a lot with the artillery, give them targets and watch the splashes. Answered your question?
  15. Since HQ is frequency hopping, it has to be time synchronized and I guess MICKEY is what you call to give the TOD, but don't get me wrong, I have never used it. And for "go active", well you use that when you want HQ mode for your comms eh? EDIT : @Notso beat me to it!
  16. I'm not sure why you would want to do that as the bombs have a chance of colliding on the flight path and considering the target size, you would reduce your chance to hit something, you need minimum separation/interval to ensure that you "bracket" your target. And add to that, 4xmk82 don't equal 1xmk84
  17. What you said, using the AP overridden to "quick trim" as long as you're not reaching the operational limits, I do that to set up in wheel orbits. But if you trim without AP engaged then the AP will not override the trim setting right? I only trim with AP off for landing and AAR.
  18. @Boosterdog you made a very good point on Nevada and PG and I second this, I didn't play much of Normandy or Channel. Syria is my now favorite map but indeed the draw distance sucks and my dated computer (still running an i5/gtx970 lol) has trouble keeping up over cities like Beirut. To me, PG is the best compromise right now. Caucasus is odd, I guess the trees kill my system.
  19. Well I thought the AP stby double tap would reset trim, I thought I read that somewhere but an update probably changed that since it now works only with wheels on the ground, it's an annoyance to do touch and go and having to reset the trim with the Rearm CDVE which doesn't have a key assigned? What jojo said is indeed what I use, I turn AP on, double tap stby AP then AP off but if it's like that IRL it's a weird design
  20. Mickey is for the Time Of the Day for Have Quick, havequick is a radio mode. Go active is the brevity for initiating HQ.
  21. These mods (smoke and terrain noise) have such low visibility, should be included by default! Come on ED!
  22. Looks the same to me, however I use a mod that seems to fix the tiling
  23. Those are for IR/laser designation procedure, since you asked : Pulse = illuminate a position w/ a flashing IR pointer (used to deconflict several pointers on the battlefield) Snake = oscillate IR pointer in a figure 8 shape about a target, used to distinguish friendly from target Rope = circle IR pointer in the given direction (cardinal or straight up) to allow acquisition of friendly position Spot = laser designation acquisition Terminate = not used anymore, "cease" is used instead i.e "cease laser/sparkle" Shift beam = doesn't exist Shift = shift laser/IR/whatever to the given direction There are many more brevities for IR or laser procedures, you should learn them, it's easy. SPARKLE/STEADY/DEADEYE/NEGATIVE LASER/CONTACT SPARKLE/10 SECONDS to name a few.
  24. Weird issue, I always noticed this and I was able to reproduce this as well with scroll wheel, however this is not linked to the QFE setting, try to rotate the knob further back and forth and you'll see a "glitch point" developing along the course. Doesn't matter which way you go btw.
  25. Late answer but first I'll correct myself I meant speed of fall not impact speed, my point is that the shrapnels need good inertia added to the bomb explosion to be directed toward the target area, so IMHO having a slow falling bomb would widely spread the shrapnels.
