  1. Wow just discovered this mod, just wanted to say thank you and keep up the amazing work!!! This makes me want to play over Caucasus again!
  2. Exactly what I did but I run out of gbu's and always get at least 2 remaining AAA's so the mission doesn't want to end as it's the GC intent... I agree with you on the wingman, he's a burden most of the time and problem is there are JTAC's on the ground but they pass me only 2 sets of grids and you can't use them for further targets. This mission is kind of getting on my nerves as pre planned grids for the bunkers are not the AAA's grids which are next to it, getting under the clouds isn't what you'd want to do IRL, the terrain around the target area makes up for a late tally. Bad mission design regarding the JTAC IMO.
  3. @Ziptieyes it's exactly this one, I died 3 times trying to go on an ETD with guns lmao
  4. You should have searched for it, it has already been reported and clarified, it's a false alert due to an encrypted audio file. Attempting update to 2.5.6.59398 and errors due to Virus? - Installation Problems - ED Forums (eagle.ru)
  5. Not happening for now, last time I heard about it Decoy told about ED fixing ground radar first. AdA wanting it for summer 2020 was unrealistic tbh. I don't see this module happening soon maybe in a few years.
  6. Is there any way to get the wingman to strike targets from above the overcast? In this mission you have air defenses threats to neutralize while staying above clouds but the wingman is "unable" even though I broadcast my SPI. When I got him under the clouds he got shot down by AAA obviously as the cloud ceiling was very low. If anyone has successfully employed the wingman on this one please share! Thanks
  7. Those warheads would sure sting on a direct hit... damn!
  8. I share your opinion, there's a lot of hype going on around the AH64 because it's a new gen helo but there's a whole bunch of basic tactics that are very different than what we are used to in jets, not sure some guys realize how slow and low this thing flies... as you said higher up, during NOE the pilot is 100% on trajectory and CPG is 100% trying to keep up with the mission which does get dense if you add threats. So more thing to monitor and setup is not always the best. Lock On After Launch for Hellfire though, that would be awesome!! Lot of knowledge in this thread btw!
  9. Thanks good video! Many F16 pilots should watch this hehe that would save a lot of pixels grass on the servers!
  10. Thanks for your input man, keep it up I just started learning the F16!
  11. Yeah you'll have to deal with the shipping time there I believe, if you're still within the warranty, there's a chance it stays cheap and fast, but if you're out of warranty like me it's gonna cost some money and they don't consider you as a priority from what I understand, but an AMERICAN friend with a TRPP rudder got a replacement lightning fast under warranty...
  12. No slew upgrade for me YET! And they require you to send it without "accessories", I'm not sure the upgrade counts, I wouldn't take the risk tho!
  13. @EbphotoI understand you're not in optimal conditions to play, a bigger screen would obviously help a lot in your case! Btw sidenote : It's important to build a good situational awareness during the planning AND flying, you should be able to navigate without waypoints, using the navigation system will only be easier once you have the basics down, that's using a compass, the map and a time watch, look for terrain features to set up wheel orbits and reference points, it will develop your sense of observation, a lot of pilots in DCS even advanced ones lack this skill, example: you ask them the orientation of a building and it takes them 2 minutes to figure it out because they don't have cardinal references on the ground. To get back on your question, @Ziptie scratched the surface on his first point, you need to look for hotspots, in a lot of missions, the enemies are in ambush setups, around bridges, main intersections, treelines... looking for a team sized infantry in a wooden area will clearly put you at a disadvantage as you probably already know! During day, for vehicles you want to scan roads with your own eyes, don't wander and stick to 25m each side, give yourself a limit to not cross (Forward Line of Own Troops f.e), fly around 10000ft AGL, it should give you pretty good view with the zoom, once you see something suspect that's when you want to use the TGP, if it's nothing then back to your eyes. That allows you to avoid screen fascination or soda straw view. During night, it's more about how you feel comfortable, I like to use the NVG's to work the same way I'd do in day, but if not I use the thermal imagery. Obviously this works when you know where/what to look at, if you have no idea, then it's good to stay high (SAM threats) and use thermal imagery in general areas and zoom in on the hotspots.
  14. I answered you on the slew upgrade topic, since here is the proper place I'll go in details. I had the same issue as you, amongst other problems from buying a cheap second hand warthog, Thrustmaster was slow to answer my first mails but now my throttle is sent to the RMA and they told me the turnaround is about 5-7 days, mind it's currently the Xmas holidays so I expect some late return from them especially if they have to deal with the Christmas aftersales (racing wheels, gamepads...). I live in France and the cost to repair was 90€ + 25€ shipping fee, funny since it cost me 14€ to send it to them.... Some retarded fact now, I live literally 30 mins away from the Thrustmaster repair center and they didn't want me to drop it there... this company is irking me.
  15. Hey, I had the same problem, those virtual buttons are supposed to be ON when the throttle axis are at minimum value. I actually sent my throttle for repair as the hall sensors on mine started acting weird and one eventually completely died. I did the calibration like you did too, didn't fix it, Thrustmaster said they'd change the sensors and set it up as factory new (obviously). I'll get back to you when I get my throttle back.
  16. It freaked me out first time I hit a bulb with my speaker volume near max lmao
  17. @fudabidu I'm fairly comfortable with my keybinds on the A/C's I fly and it's somewhat similar to what you did. The point here isn't about creating fast waypoints but about planning the whole flight with a strict time schedule and RP/CP/IP and whatnot, for me that means about 20+ waypoints depending on the mission, now that's a real pain to enter while in the cockpit when you're supposed to startup and fly right away.
  18. IIRC this nose cap is for aerodynamics/penetration right? Would be nice to have more choice on fuzings in general IMO!
  19. Nice looking cockpit for sure!
  20. On an MP mission, I was on the ground and noticed a red glow of the F18. The map was NTTR at night, there was a bright moon. The pilot told me he was all lights off and indeed he was, when you press F2 and zoom out you can see the red light around halfway, looks like it comes from the front of the A/C. And btw it's still a glowing orb with lights on... It's less noticeable on the screenshot, sorry I didn't have time to make a video out of it, I don't own the module.
  21. Well I guess it's due to the facts the Mirage has a lot more lights sources over the consoles compared to the A10 for example so it makes for a very bright lighting from the beginning. Now I don't think you're supposed to fly with the white panel light in pitch black conditions as in the pics above. I usually just turn on the console flood at minimum and it's enough to use NVG. From my experience IRL for night ops we never want to have lights in the field of the NVG's and even more so when you get your eyes used to the dark, you learn to remember the position of switches on your gear/vehicle and I guess it's kind of the same for aircrews (sim limitation there). So in the end it's a lot of back and forth with nvg on/off and you want to keep the lights to a minimum. So usable IMO, but I still hope we get a fix though.
  22. So far weapon effect is broken especially when you think about effect radiuses, I don't know if ED just doesn't have the data or if they don't want to do it bc that's not where the money is. There are so many variables to body wounds but right now, AI behavior when getting shot at is ridiculous (moving 20m away and staying there for 2nd round). On the amount of bullets for a kill, it's not only the amount but also the power, that's why protected targets have an importance. Other than that, @Fri13 is pretty much on point on how it should be and I don't think it's too complicated, you don't need ballistics as good as in a FPS, the effect on target is what makes it interesting. I understand ED has trouble with their AI logic so that might take some time! The issue I see with this would be conflicting states with multiple engagements.
  23. thanks that was a good read, I like the fact you emphasize that you have to adapt the tactics to a given situation, oobviously it doesn't work if you repeat a pattern for anything and everything.
  24. +1 this is a pain currently and for most aircrafts
