What's the button for that? I guess if there is a button for that then there shouldn't be a problem but i'm guessing you're talking about modding your game files right. I just don't see the similarity. I probably won't be using this mod as i've have enough trouble keeping my wings and rudders on in the past as it is, but I know guys that will be grateful for this and I really don't see a problem with it.

To have full back stick and then press the w key is madness, doing it this way goes from 7g to broken wings instantly barring some crazy stick fiddle. Turning off the limiter lets you dial in the G as it would be done in rl without the added force needed to push past the limiter. Its the lesser of two poorly modeled methods.

The 'S key' is the Direct control mode this switches off your FCS which then allows Cobras, broken wings etc. Holimoli is asking how to permanently disable the G/AoA limiter (W key) without having to hold down 'W key', this is just a limiter and switching it off keeps the FCS on.

Some great action congrats to SF but I can't help thinking the bizarre format took away what could have been an even greater spectacle. Having a BVR, guns and heater rounds I expected to see some different fighter team tactics for each round but apart from the first round it was a race to gun the ground units. To have a fighter championship decided by who can destroy static units the quickest takes away that pvp aspect of tactical fighting and introduced more of a gamey race tactic. To shoot down all of the opposing fighters but end up the loser in a fighter championship seems strange especially considering the mission was won after the first merge, great job by SF but maybe naming it fighter championship is a bit misleading. Ultimately though another great event for all to enjoy, congrats to the hosts and admins, I hope to see more great events in the future.

If you use that idea then according to this paper R-73 and R-27ET/T shouldn't be getting spoofed by DCS flares either, certainly not as easy as they do. But I think it is pretty clear that FPA seekers are not immune to flares.

The word 'increased' for me means your theory is not absolute.

Part of the improvement program of the 9X was to reduce a deficiency in performance against aircraft employing countermeasures (flares). Increased flare rejection performance doesn't equate to immunity, not what i'd call a death ray with no counter like you seem to believe at least.

Don't need to bother with that just give recon/bomber to Mi8 and Huey then we can all be non team playing one man armies. :) Seriously though the M and Mistral need to be recon only while the L should be troop only. -

It's pretty simple have a separate recon Gazelle and troop transport Gazelle. Greg is already aware of the issue and is planning on sorting it out. -

I'm sure it would be totally different if it wasn't just a testing phase. If rounds only lasted to 75% then i'm sure they wouldn't last very long. -

Battle to the last stronghold is where the action is, people need to get out of that boohoo we've lost attitude and step up. You learn a lot more in hard fought defeat than you do from overwhelming victory. -
Flying fast modern jets has it all, I love ww2 aircraft, the barebones flying has a special place but after you've fast jetted for a while ww2 just feels so slow paced. Modern fighters require the full package, you've got to be tactically smart and cunning in BVR, missile defence and team co-ordination but you also better be brushed up on BFM because when the former is equally matched BFM is where you settle it.

Scored a HOJ kill in blueflag last night with R-27R, the bandit left his jammer on after burnthrough I locked and launched HOJ at 12km just to defend my position then immediately switched to another target. The missile flew by it self with no lock from my aircraft straight into the bandit, all I can imagine is that he carried on straight into it with no defensive attempt.

Keep in mind without the radar lock a HOJ SARH missile will fly pure pursuit and have an extremely poor chance of being a threat, very very low Pk.

I should imagine the corners DCS cuts a fully loaded and a clean Typhoon will both have the RCS of a DCS F-16 from all angles. We're still waiting for better missiles without thought of some DCS level ECM, countermeasure, RCS modelling, instead we get dots 30nm away and can't see jack in a merge, at least the grass looks nice. DCS level BVR simulation is probably another 10 years away. Hopefully i'm wrong but after flying the MiG-21 and Mirage all I see is them getting dragged under the FC BVR sim level umbrella. Unless ED pull something out of the bag with the Hornet I can't see it changing much.

The naysayers said no we don't like that exploit so ED put in the warm up dance. But now the AI do it all the time and you can't report them. :D

It will get real awkward when Typhoon comes out, a clean Typhoon coming head on at an F/A-18 probably won't get picked up on Hornet radar before 20nm he can sneak straight past his scan zone at 50,000ft and gun his six, in DCS at least. :prop:

It actually has flight model closer to an Su33, the parameters are there, the performance charts match up quite well, just some restrictive scripting behaviour at stalls and landing, plus if you land on grass you explode, if you land on the Kuz too fast and too much sink rate you don't get away with damaged gear you simply explode. To say it handles like GTA is nonsense.

HOJ shots work, some human players tend to leave their jammers on even after burn through. High flying bandits with 'jammers on' are great targets for HOJ, with SARH once burn through is achieved the missile will behave normally at the intercept, with ARH when the missile goes active it behaves normally, in both situations the jamming target won't get a launch warning until very late. I've turned plenty of jamming targets into balls of smoke using HOJ. The beauty of HOJ is that the missile self guides without your radar locking the target, i'll let you decide how to best utilise this.;)

Screenshot spamming can't say i've seen it, are you sure you're not just seeing server lag. There is no Ka50, Gazelle comparison, one can just attack ground units the other can carry troops, call in bombers and shoot down anything out of the sky, these are dedicated roles for Red and Blue respectively. No other platforms exist on either side to do the same job. A-10 vs Ka50 vs 25T, A-10 can clear a farp in one or two passes, Ka50 and 25T have to stay on station for several minutes. Blue need 25T to do SEAD quickly with limited risk, Red need A-10 to attack farps quickly, reducing TOS risk plus it allows more player balance. I'm sure restricting 25T on Red and A-10 on Blue would be troublesome for many Blue so why not have both aircraft on both sides.
