The twist-capable models are planned for 2018.

Are "Extended commands" working? I am having trouble issuing "Open the canopy", "Request Refueling" and others in an AV-8B. Canopy doesn't work at all and refueling starts the fuel flow sound but doesn't actually refuel the aircraft. Are those WIP? And are those just 3rd party scripts or were they integrated in DCS in the first place?

They look just like the regular laser-cut cams of BRD. BRD cams are very precisely and smoothly cutted and never required any polishing or sanding.

AS56000 12 bits magnetic contactless sensor
The LT replied to Sokol1_br's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Looks interesting. Thanks as always, Sokol! You're the man! -
The Hawk is... well... unacceptable. The Gazelle... flight modeling is... below average. The MiG-21, while good looking, has quite a few issues which probably won't get fixed. So, yeah. A slew of modules which need work.

[MERGED] DirectX 11/12, OpenGL, VulkanAPI Discussion
The LT replied to Cskelly's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I pray to God that the performance boost would be along the lines of finally scaling up with multiple GPUs. -
Good call. In fact, if someone would make a mod that would automatically jot down the 9-line in the kneeboard, that would be awesome. :)

Bought! :) Great Christmas surprise for all of us, Hollywood! Woot!!!!! Dank je wel! EDIT: Made a small JTAC Type-2 (Laser Spot) work video with the new Vaicom and AV-8B. Easy as pie!

I think we should pay for the new CAUCASUS????
The LT replied to Psicodreamics's topic in DCS: Caucasus
Psicodreamics, if you have money you'd like to throw at ED, then just do yourself a favour and make a second account, buying all the maps and modules for it. We, regular customers, expect the Caucasus map free of charge, as it is the default operations theater in an otherwise free environment. Remember, DCS World as a "shell" is supposed to be free. It's the modules that generate revenue. Don't forget the Hormuz theater. It will be a paid one and people would definately want it. Caucasus is a good showcase of what to expect from the paid maps. And by the way. NTTR is great. And has a few fun campaigns already. It's the AI that somewhat spoils the fun though. -
Hello, Will the campaigns be compatible with DCS 2.5 once it comes out? I have almost all MFM campaigns bought but reluctant to play them in 1.5. Should we expect them to be mostly bug free?

And no one even asked the guy if he had an A-10C... All this "THIS IS THE BEST MODULE IN DCS" is cringeworthy, to say the least. It will be among the best modules in DCS when the devs get all the systems in place. So far, it's quite raw and not yet ready for the casual flyer, only for the "I have all the modules and I am bored to death" DCS fans. Because I fail to see how this module is superior to the aforementioned A-10C or even the much more polished Mirage. While this module shows good promise, one should bear in mind that it has quite a few annoying issues, which will though, probably be resolved in very near future. But as it stands now, if one is to get it, he should be ready for some quirks. But out of all honesty, calling this module "the best" is taking it a bit too far. So far, the best ground attack module in DCS is the A-10C and it will probably stay that way until the Hornet comes out and gets polished OR the Harrier gets out of early access and becomes feature-complete. That said, flying the thing is fun and if you don't particularly care for weapons employment - get it. I would say the flight model is mostly finished on it and feels quite decent, especially when compared to the other modules. I would definately love a bump in the roll rate though. All things considered - this is the best effort by a 3rd party at modeling a DCS-level aircraft. So kudos to RAZBAM staff and Zeus in particular for setting the benchmark that high. Verdict? 7 out of 10. Would probably raise it after it gets out of EA.
-
The only thing this biplane will push is the ability of the flight model programmer to make something even vaguely resembling an aerobatic flight. Whether something good will come out of it remains to be seen. Frankly, after a slew of below-average modules released by the 3rd parties which are well below the "DCS" level of fidelity set by ED, I remain sceptical.

Virtual flight instructor / flight data monitoring
The LT replied to HWasp's topic in Magnitude 3 LLC
Not to derail the thread but what could be more convenient than Tacview? It's just so easy to use. Even has the highlight/marker hotkey. On topic though, it could be great so that Tacview could be used in realtime, but I guess that would hit some ED engine limitations. Or maybe not. -
Anyone got the CMBT thrust button mapping oneliner? Is it even modeled in yet?
-
Why is that you wouldn't get a Viggen for anti ship? It even has an anti-ship missile specifically for the task.
-
Hey everyone, Is it possible for the Harrier to rearm at FARPs or in the field? I tried setting a friendly FARP in the ME but I can't rearm there. What gives? :) Thanks for any input
-
Do you use the Gametrix jetseat? Is it connected via audio or USB? The OP probably means USB mode.

Virpil Mongoose or VKB MCG Pro?
The LT replied to Slick Fork's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
VPC has Roman Baur from BRD fame as chief designer and he has been designing and building controls for a long time. Also, other key people in VPC such as Solway are well-known among virtual pilots as great engineers and DIYers. So, VPC is very much an "established player". VPC also closely listens to customer base input. I would put my trust in VPC. Also, their sticks are warthog-compatible and should any 3rd party sticks come out, you won't need an adapter. -
Thanks for pointing in the right direction! And I thought those iCommands were gone for good :)
-
Now this thread makes you wonder...
-
Pretty much this. Time is limited. Resources are limited. We better vote with our dollar so that the devs prioritize accordingly.
-
Dear Leatherneck or Magnitude 3 or whatever you should be addressed as, While building hype is fun and dandy, please don't forget to work on modules like the MiG-21Bis, there are plenty of issues to be fixed and worked on before venturing forth. Thank you,
-
First, both of you guys are great and I want to let you know I respect you both. That said, I was planning to use the Cougar with a kreml F3 controller which is RAMS-compatible, as Sokol already mentioned. As the gimbals seem compatible, it's great! I'll guess I'll just order then. :) EDIT: Just measured the sensor mounting hole width, it's 34.4m so it is compatible with the RAMS sensors.
