  1. Makes sense, thanks a lot for your input, mate!
  2. So there are no third-party tools which allow such functionality, I wonder?
  3. Hi all, Is it possible to import edm files into 3ds max for modification or is it only possible to export them in the toolkit? Thanks,
  4. Fantastic, expected no less! Cheers!
  5. Hi everyone, I am currently re-setting up my controls for various aircraft and taking them for a spin, I've created empty "ramp starts" for every of them, But maybe some kind person could point me in the direction of a nice "busy airport" mission so they would be more lifelike? Like the A-10C training missions, but a little more "busy"? Thanks!
  6. I'd agree with most posts above... 1. A-10C: easier to fly, but more complicated avionics, more weapon diversity. You have to learn to drop various bombs and that takes time. Learning the CDU navigation in depth also takes time. 2. Ka-50: Much harder to fly effectively, takes more time to get used to it, has somewhat simpler and old avionics (although the ABRIS also has loads of functions not a lot of DCS pilots bother to learn). The weapons employment is somewhat easier, but cannon employment requires finesse and careful piloting, which takes somewhat more time than in the hog. Overall, YMMV I guess. Depends on your style of flying and approach. Reading the manual and having a good instructor speeds things up immensely. I'd say start with the A-10C and work from there. Once you learn the A-10C, the Ka-50 will be much easier for you, I guess.
  7. Congratulations and grand thanks to Pete "pman", Rock and the rest of the guys who made this possible! Definately a great effort and truly an asset to the community! As soon as I'm done building my new rig this will be the first server I join to have some DCS fun! Thanks guys! You know you're the best!
  8. Trying out the 1.2.7 Open Beta now and I can't activate the A-10C module although I've plenty of activations left and had the module for ages. It says something about hardware ID being incorrect and the integrity of the activation key being corrupted. And wouldn't let me activate. Can I somehow reset the activation?
  9. I'd also stay away from curvature settings if you use a TM Warthog, ever since I started flying with it after the Saitek X52Pro it was just "whoa, a whole new plane". It's about you, not about the stick. The TMWH is a decent stick, take your time and use the trimmer as suggested above. You'll get the hang of it. Good luck!
  10. The Starter position makes the engine starter motor work in Starter mode, it's main intended function. The standby generator mode allows the starter to be used as a backup generator in case of main gen failure.
  11. Go for plan C. I'm willing to pay extra just for that.
  12. They don't have toe brakes if that's what you mean, but other than that, they are perfectly usable in fixed-wing aircraft. The developer plans to make an upgrade kit to include the brakes if he can come up with a neat implementation. Anyways, those MFG pedals are sick!
  13. Sounds like a servo seeking noise. Surely normal in servomotors (esp. RC servos) but not sure if it should be present in MSFFB2.
  14. BRD Mi-8 pedals have the possibility to adjust width with a roller. http://avia-sim.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?t=716
  15. The pinky switch is supposed to be operated using the pinky finger. :) I believe it's Insert on the keyboard. :)
  16. I am SOLD! Gimme... Must have... NOW! I guess I will pay upwards to 750-800$ for a FFB stick.
  17. Not being very original here, but: Shut up and take my money :)))
  18. Try the 6.9.9.9 drivers, they seem much more stable for me. The latest 7.x drivers were a nightmare.
  19. Yeah, must have been something with my eyes
  20. Might be me, but the panels are placed in a wierd order. :)
  21. Weird panel order :)
  22. +3! Interested!
  23. This stick (Fat Cobra) is a big step-up from the regular Defender Cobra. It has completely reworked all-metal mechanics with ball-bearings and custom springs. It also has additional rotaries, switches and buttons, which are all high quality and nice resolution. (I believe it's 12 bit for the rotaries). It does have a rotary on the left of the stick which can be used as a rudimentary throttle. There is also a slimmed down version of this stick without the additional controls, it's significantly cheaper. Those sticks are custom-made and have a higher quality than the mass-produced ones. The prices are reasonable. Handmade construction. Limited quantity. I don't advertise the stick. But I hear it's good. There are two Russian guys who produce kick-ass hardware, they are VKB and BRD.
  24. The Oculus Rift only has 3DOF, which are Roll, Pitch and Yaw, the TrackIR is probably used for X/Y/Z movement, which are positional axis and another 3 degrees of freedom required for a full 6DOF cockpit, such as the ones in DCS.
  25. Been somewhat quiet here, any updates on the production? Any ETA?
