    A-10 knobs

Step would be best. That way I can mate them with the switch shafts that I have. Thank you. It will be cool having a knob selection we can all use. I’m working on a china hat now. Still going through the Fusion360 tutorial and building at the same time. This may take a while :megalol: EDIT: WOW, this is great. Gonna print one in the morning just because, THANKS!

    A-10 knobs

Anyone have any luck converting these?
  3. I second the CPU being your issue. I’m pretty much locked at 45 FPS with my rig with higher settings.

I'm in the process of learning Fusion 360. It's similar to Autodesk Inventor that I used briefly back in the 90's(?). There's a learning curve but they have excellent tutorials. It seems that conversion is done in the cloud and I have not been able to get that to work. There is a popup stating that I will receive an email when the conversion is complete but I have yet to receive that email. I've tried several times with different files. If one of you could convert all of them to STL files or something else (DXF, DWG, etc.) then I can change shaft configurations and make push on caps for toggles and such. EDIT: My mistake, I've been using Grabcad for my conversion attempts not Fusion360. It's getting a little confusing at this point... Fusion360 will convert models I've drawn; but it is done in the cloud as well and takes a long time to convert. 5. Very nice. I just got a SnapMaker and was going to make this one. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3759480 Yours has a much sleeker look to it. Will it be on Thingiverse?
  6. Is there a repository of STL or fusion360 knob files anywhere for the A-10c? I want to print out a few for a mini panel that I can use in VR. I found a whole catalog of knobs in Solidworks, but I don't have Solidworks. Primarily the radios, laser codes, and some other things that I use on the fly. Thanks.
  7. I remember reading that when it came out. It has 4 screens. 2 high res center screens with lower res side screens on the outside of the center ones. I would be happy with the same or slightly higher FOV at a higher DPI. Better distance spotting and clearer text.
  8. The O+ is much better. It had been a while since I used the O but man what a step up from the O the O+ is. After 5 minutes with the O I had to unplug it and plug back in the O+.
  9. Not much to go on it seems. No resolution or FOV specs. I did notice that there doesn’t seem to be an IPD adjustment wheel in the pics. That would suck for us big headed folk.
  10. Saw a couple of mentions here and there just a few minutes ago. Gonna go see if I can find some more info. Post here if you have any news. Thanks.
  11. I have both. The O is a narrower fit. My hat size is 7-3/8. I made a larger face pad to better fit my head and move the lenses closer to my face allowing a larger FOV. There are face pads you can buy but I can’t comment on their comfort or practicality. The O+ is a wider fit but I found the headband was on the tight side. It also had a hard ridge that dig into my skull. The face pad also had a hard plastic piece in it that dug into my brow ridge. Both were unbearably painful to the point I was going to return it after trying it a couple of days. I opted to mod the headset a little bit. Fixed both concerns and can wear the headset for hours at a time without even getting red marks on my face. I have read that there are aftermarket face pads for the O+ as well. The screens are equally bright with vibrant colors and black blacks. I’ve tried LCD screens but OLED to LCD is like VR to pancake. The O has some screen door where the O+ has no screen door but is “softer” in appearance. Kind of like in old movies when they would use gauze over the lens to make the female lead look softer and prettier. Spotting in both is about the same. I think I remember the O+ being better though. I’ll check tomorrow when I’m at my rig. Hope this helps. John
  12. Hi Dave. Is the Pimax your first VR? if not, how does it compare to other offerings you may be familiar with? I’m wanting to upgrade my SO+ for a higher res OLED, wondering if the new PIMAX might be it. Thanks. John
  13. Some years ago I purchased a DLP projector for gaming and entertainment. The first time I had friends over to watch a movie; one of them saw nothing but multicolored “rainbows” as he described it. It seems that everyone sees in different “frequencies”. Those of us that see at a lower frequency don’t have issues with lower refresh rates. Whereas those that see at a higher frequency do. You see stuttering where I see silky smooth gameplay. There is nothing you can do about it until the refresh rate of the game raises to at least your visual frequency. Hate it for ya man ‘cause VR rocks.
  14. I never understood this. What is WMR hassle? I plugged mine in and haven’t given it much thought in ever 2 years. There have been a couple of driver update issues that got sorted fairly quickly but other than that, nothing.
  15. I use a 1080ti with an Odyssey+ @1.4 SS and 2xAA with no issues maintaining 45 FPS with pretty high settings. The O+ has a higher resolution than the Rift S so I would think a used 1080ti could hold you over till the 3000 series drops.
  16. None of had any build experience in the beginning. Many of us bought an office computer only to find that it was woefully inadequate for gaming and not upgrade friendly. The first questions are "What are your expectations of your machine?" and "what's your price range?" Then you should watch a couple of beginner build videos to see just how easy it is to do. Then comes the fun part of picking out the components. There are hundreds of thousands of people out there willing to lend you a helping hand.
  17. I agree that a 55” (or bigger) 4K TV is the way to go if you can’t do VR.
  18. I removed the center detent and re-greased the whole thing with the blue marine grease. I also made a lighter return spring from a spring I got from Ace Hardware. It centers well but has less tension when off center. Works well with helicopters and the A-10c.
  19. I had a 55” FHD that I replaced with a 50” UHD. Less FOV, greater resolution. Kind of a wash. Then I swapped out for 3 40” FHD screens. Tried them in both horizontal and vertical orientation. Settled on horizontal for the HFOV which was great with headtracking. When the Samsung Odyssey cam out I got that. 2 weeks later I sold all my screens and disassembled my pit. You just have to pick what is most important to you. For me the immersion increase with a greater FOV is more important than resolution. I’m have an Odyssey+ now and am just waiting for Samsung’s next offering.
  20. Did anyone else notice that he didn't deny working for Xtal?
  21. I was hoping there would be a new Samsung offering again this year. They wouldn’t even have to increase the FOV, just pop new higher res OLED’s in the existing model. Clearer would be better than bigger IMO.
  22. I thought I had one on my phone but I don't. I'll post a couple when I get home.
