  1. Thanks guys! That's interesting, secret skunkworks Mustang improvements? Very happy to hear there is something underway.
  2. our beloved Pony-will it get even better? Sounds good, Sith. Just curious. Is there currently a thread dedicated to P-51D bugs/issues to keep a running list? I imagine it would be very handy and helpful in the long run. EDIT: I know there is a whole section for this but is there a one-stop list of items. Like a wishlist of improvements?
  3. It was fun flying with you, Yob. For now I'd like to keep two distinct skins for red & blue that everyone has installed. Adjusting skins on the server can be tricky because with only one airframe it can create much confusion. Once we get a second fighter I will begin using more skins.
  4. Thanks. The custom frame has been ordered. I will be able to show off the final product in a couple weeks.
  5. Was there ever an official response to the OP on this topic? I've been curious as well. I know Santa's workshop is very busy right now :) but it would be nice to hear that some of the small "improvements" for the Mustang will be addressed down the road. As minor as it may seem, some things like exhaust stack smoke, damage model refinement and windscreen oil leak effects would greatly add to the immersion.
  6. some misinformation going on at simhq Those flight hours are invaluable. I can remember the days of being afraid to go 61" on takeoff. Now I'm looking around at the scenery and drinking my coffee departing full throttle out of lovely Gudauta.
  7. Good read. Thanks for posting it!
  8. Guys, let me know if you have some ideas on when we should try and schedule dogfight events. Is the weekend better for most? If we were to do anything during the week it would most likely have to be Wednesday for me or Friday. For those it would only be able to attend after around 4 or 5pm. (which is 9 or 10pm GMT) Tell me hear your thoughts so we can get everyone flying!
  9. Yob, The TS server info is included in the mission brief when you connect up. I will send a PM with the info as well.
  10. Right, I do have in place an "event" every Sat at 3pm EST (-5GMT) but that does not seem to an ideal time for everyone. I will continue this discussion on my server bulletin thread....
  11. When is the best time for you guys to fly? It makes it a little more difficult that I'm -5 GMT but I can try to set up a weekly event.
  12. Haha! Good times. I may be the first P-51 combat pilot actually lol'ing during a dogfight. You are one funny guy. :)
  13. Lule! I did not know they had wireless internet in the lifeboats. Aren't you still paddling back to base? PTB?
  14. Oh! it WAS me. Sorry! I will let you take a few free shots next time. :D You are definitely welcome on the server.
  15. Fred, What is your player name when you fly online? I did have one incident today where after switching sides a few times I did mistakenly latch onto a teammate.. until I realized the German a/c waiting on my 6. If that was you I'm sorry, mate. I had been playing for at least 4 hours and had switched sides to even odds about 3 or 4 times. Are you able to type in-game? That can go a long way as well as Teamspeak to "wake" someone up. If you stayed around for any length of time you noticed we shot down plenty of enemy aircraft :D
  16. Ok great! Thank you. It seems like by around June 15th there were a good number of allied airfields around the Normandy beachhead.
  17. Kirill, Is there a specific date in mind for the Normandy map? I am curious because it would determine what airfields would be in place at the time. I'm do not remember if this has been stated previously.
  18. Did you use fast forward while watching? It's a known issue that a track may become "corrupted" if you speed up or slow down the playback. Hopefully we will get a more refined replay solution down the road.
  19. I had the same issue, ENO. Scenes setting was the culprit. I have my server running low scenes and when I edited a mission in the ME it changed the options file and thus removed the trees. Now I have a standard server options file that I just add to each mission .miz after the fact to keep everything right.
  20. I really wonder how the real Mustang compass and gyro performed. I have yet to read any pilot accounts of it's behavior. The manual is very specific but that does not guarantee that it describes the actual implementation. It would be great to find out.
  21. Yes, it's a folder in Tracks called Multiplayer.
  22. 4/B Nice work. Here is the continuation of my plan. I created Google Earth overlays for the allied Normandy airfields I can find. It's pretty amazing how close they match up with existing roads and such. I even measured the runway lengths and they match up pretty well.
  23. Thank you and it looks like you have a good project underway as well! Maybe we can collaborate... I have been plotting the Allied ALGs in Google maps with help from that abandoned airfields website. It's actually "fun" to find the exact spot were the airfields used to be in '44.
  24. No problem. I am working on a good framing option at the moment. I purchased the thin sheet of steel from Home Depot and my plan was to use a spray adhesive or something like that to attach the steel and map to a wood backing piece. I will let you know how that turns out.
  25. Here's another while trying out our high-risk camera man technique.
