  1. Thanks YoYo but, about the tips in the post you reported, "Alt+Tab" is not a solution, especially since I don't play DCS in window. My hardware is up to date and the problem remains. Let's hope that ED realizes how much worse this problem (which was already present) has become and finds a solution.

  4. Hello everyone! With the new Cold War Germany terrain there is a need for East German Mig-29s. The liveries I found are not suitable for the new version of the game (they make the Mig-29 appear covered in green checks). It would be nice if suitable liveries were available. Thanks in advance.
  5. Congratulations to CH for the collaboration with ED. The integration of some (for now) of its models in DCS raises some questions for me. In particular the following: a) what will those who have already installed the mod packages containing the same units that ED has decided to integrate in DCS have to do? Will they have to uninstall the individual integrated models with no small problems? b) I think I read that ballistic missiles will also be integrated, would this mean that ED will finally allow truly "ballistic" trajectories?
  6. I'll start by saying that I think the F-4 simulation is a masterpiece and not even the F-14 was made with the maniacal care lavished on the Phantom (which deserves such a commitment!). The effort to simulate the radar's functioning as much as possible is appreciable, however, the playability suffers greatly! It's frustrating not even being able to track an enemy fighter approaching at 10 nm (let alone not being able to lock onto one at 5nm). It's frustrating especially because the F-4 is the only aircraft with this "feature". The Mig-21 has a radar that basically only works for targets at 10 nm, but at least it tracks and locks onto them within this distance. The Mirage F1 has a radar that is superior to the F-4 because it can track and lock onto enemy fighters approaching within 15-20 nm. Even the F-5 has an AA radar that works better than the F-4's! Evidently, the radars of these planes (approximately contemporary with the F-4) have been simulated less realistically, but at least they are fun! Surely, like the F-14, the F-4 would also need a human WSO. So, the single player will have to take into account that he is severely limited and he will have to follow techniques that rely as little as possible on radar (which was also likely in the 70s).
  7. Hi all. The mod works for me. I followed these steps: - I updated DCS World Openbeta (03-26-2025); - I deleted the mod from the game; - I downloaded the latest version of CWS; - I applied CWS to the mod 2.7.98b (copy the CWS directory into the mod directory); - I copied the mod+CWS result directory into saved games\DCS openbeta\mods\aicraft. The mods I have active are: Su-30, A-4, Su-25SM3, Mig-25P, Su-7, UH-60. In the "tech" directory I have the CurrentHill mods.

  10. I've been using this mod for a while now and it's really well made. The only flaws are: the rear view mirrors that are better to disable by folding them since the view is ugly and useless and the liveries that are only four (in addition to the standard one) and the mod is incompatible with the liveries of the Su-25A and the Su-25T. Also, it would be useful to be able to vary the contrast of the front TV screen since sometimes it is too bright and difficult to read. A nice addition could be the umpk glide bombs and the TV-guided ones. It would be really great if you could have a targeting pod.

  12. Hi, I also thought it was a virus, but it is not. To download you must temporarily disable your antivirus, set your browser protection to the minimum level and disable windows defender. Once you have downloaded CWS, re-enable everything.
  13. Hello everyone! Isn't it time to update the P-51 pilot figure? Especially considering how satisfying the P-47 pilot looks. There really is a gulf between the two!!!! I hope that if ED gets around to the P-51 in the future, he can update the pilot figure as well.

  15. Actually, a hot fix has been released. For now, it seems to have solved the problem. It can be found on the page of this forum dedicated to the Su-30 mod. I tried it and so far everything is ok.
  16. Ok. For the benefit of those who have the same problem, I found out the problem is solved by removing the Su-30 mod. It's a shame because the mod is one of the best out there.

If I create a mission with the mission editor in which the Su-33 is embarked and I pilot it to take off from the aircraft carrier, when I run the mission, nothing appears on the map and the mission is as if non-existent.   19. I don't understand why they prevent the realism of the ballistic trajectories of long-range missiles. It doesn't take anything away from the simulation, on the contrary it adds! If the missiles are the fruit of the ingenuity of third parties, it should be a credit to the simulator that brings together lively minds.

  21. Hello everyone. Just a simple question: how many Vikhrs missiles are needed to shoot down a CH-47? Because I fired 10 Vikhrs at a CH-47, all hits, and yet it still flew, maneuvered and the only effect was a little smoke. Not only that, but even shooting all the HE and AP rounds at it, the CH-47 still flew and maneuvered (even at speed!!!). I think the development team must have done some testing in this direction. If this is the desired effect... it seems ridiculous to me.
  22. Hello everyone. I'm sorry but no matter how many times I tried, using the advice I got (maybe I use it wrong), there was NEVER EVER a way to get Jester to track the Mig at less than 10 nm and it rarely managed to lock on. The very few times that the lock on happened, it happened at less than 5 nm (Sparrow useless as well as the Sidewinder, which is rear aspect). The only thing I understood is that in the frontal engagement with the Phantom it is better to ... turn around and run away. If I enter the cockpit of the Mig, the tracking distance is the same as the Phantom, but at about 10 nm I (and without Jester the joker) I can lock on at 100% "and ... kill the Phantom"!!! By the way, I noticed that when I'm in the Mig, the enemy Jester is much more reactive than when I'm in the Phantom. Maybe he is simulated to be more intelligent when paired with an AI than a human. I imagine that in the game it's like this because in reality the Migs did not encounter head on the Phantoms and surely with other engagement geometries the Mig (often unaware of the presence of the Phantoms) was an easier target to lock-on (then maybe it was the Sparrows that were not reliable). I will try to use the Phantom in AA missions again but ... I do not deny that it is slightly frustrating. It is useless to attach the mission track, I understood that the problem is me.
  23. Hello MEBF109, I take advantage of your courtesy for a little help. I did a clean install of only the Codename Flanker mod (without CWS 1.8) and deleted the Su-30SM "input" directory in the "Config" directory in Saved games\DCSOpenBeta. I started the game and set the roll, pitch, rudder commands with the joystick and thrust with the throttle. I then tried a simple mission with the Su-30SM but, while the thrust responds perfectly, the roll, pitch and rudder commands are blocked. How to solve? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately I am not an expert in programming and I would need some simple explanation on how to use the fix since I do not seem to have read it in the readme. For example, I would like to use the Su-30SM "Codename Flanker" mod again, what should I do with the fix? Also, does the fix break the integrity check?   25. Hello everyone, First of all, congratulations to Cubanace for the fantastic Su-57. I have been using this mod since it was made available and it was always fun. Now it is good that the mod can also be used with the latest version of DCS (not very friendly with mods). I tried this release of the Su-57 and I report that the "D" button does not work to change the weapon stations. The "modes" do not work either. It also seems to me that using the joystick and the throttle, the plane is difficult to control, even without activating the TV with "F". By the way, I do not think that there is anything in the instrumentation that allows you to understand if the TV is active or not, or whether it is possible to activate and deactivate it.
