In my opinion the FM has been made too difficult to master for an average simulation user (like me). I land well with all the simulated models (even with the Mig-21!) Because I faithfully follow the indicated landing procedures. But for two days I'm trying to make a landing with the "new" Mig-29 (following the instructions on the flight manual of the real Mig-29 !!!) and the result is that on dozens of attempts only a couple have gone well. Engine power management is a nightmare and it is already a problem to reduce speed. Then the plane bounces unrealistic even in level flight up to the touchdown. Moreover, despite the parachute and the brakes, at 250/300 km / h the plane stops right at the end of the runway. And be careful not to touch the rudder on the run ... the plane crashes catastrophically (there is no command for the NWS!). Below is a graph of the Mig-29 landing procedure (the real one). I just tried a landing with the Open Beta (latest version) and everything is ok !!! Instead, on the "stable" version, does not work !!! Bah!?!?!

Hello everyone! Before take-off flaps and airbrakes work perfectly. I follow the landing procedure indicated on page 41 of Chuck's guide, at point 4, I try to extend flaps and airbrakes as indicated and ... surprise !! They DO NOT WORK !!! The flight parameters are those indicated in point 4 of the procedure. I have performed the maneuver five times and the problem remains. For me it's a bug!

Really strange. I easily landed with all the simulated aircraft (including the so "feared" Mig-21), I landed on the aircraft carrier with SU-33 and F-18, yet they are five days I'm trying to land on large airports such as highways with a MIG -29 and I managed (badly) to land three times on dozens of disasters. Flying the the MIG-29 is more difficult than flying the MIG-21?!?!?!
-
I completely agree. I opened a thread in FC3 - MIG29 page of this forum about the difficulties of the FM with respect to the simulation. Who was kind enough to answer me, wrote that I would need more practice. Surely I can train a lot and MAYBE I get the desired results, but why I have to adapt to FM so unnatural?! At any speed and at any AOA, at landing the plane bounces catastrophically!! The management of the throttle is "science fiction": at 80% the plane continues to accelerate !!! So many people claim everything is ok. I think they see a miracle every time they land without destroying the plane.

Hello everyone! I believe the new Mig-29 flight model is absolutely unsuitable for the simulation. Obviously, I have never piloted a Mig-29, but I think the simulated airplane is impossible to manage, during take-off, flight and landing. The take-off is very difficult: the run-up reaches over 300 km/h and there is always the risk of touching the track with the engines when you pull the stick back! The engine in flight is very difficult to manage: when it is at 80% of the power the plane continues to accelerate! It seems that the super-cruise was invented by the Russians with the Mig-29 not by the Americans with the F-22! Landing is a nightmare: assuming that you can reduce the speed of the plane (at least at 350-400 km/h). However, you can touch the track at any speed between 300 and 400 km/h, at an angle between 2 and 7 degrees, and the plane will always bounce off the track in a catastrophic way (total destruction)!!! I beg the developers to review something to make the Mig-29 FM enjoyable as that of the Su-27 (which still has a perfect FM and I hope it will not be changed for the worse). Thanks for the attention.

** DCS: F-14 Development Update - September!! **
flavnet replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Wonderful! The wait is killing me! -
Hello everyone! While waiting for an ATFLIR for the USNAVY Hornets, it would be fantastic to adapt the A-10C LITENING to the Marines Hornets. I hope the development team will give us a little thought.

DCS F-14 Update: JESTER AI Behind the Scenes Recording & Multicrew
flavnet replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Ok, it's official: Heatblur you have become my heroes!!! -
Chuck, You are my myth!!!! Thank you a lot of times!!!!

Hello everyone. In the mission editor I try to select Switzerland as blue (with red is the same) to fly with a Swiss F-18, but it seems that it is not possible. It's a known limitation or it's just my problem. Thanks for your kind attention.

AIM-7 Performance
flavnet replied to HawkDCS's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
This is strange! I tried the sparrow (AIM-7M) with the F-15C for three consecutive missions (very simple scenario: head on vs single high level Mig-29 without missiles): three successes (the Mig was hit at distances between 10- 20 nm and only in one case I had to use two sparrow). I try the sparrow with the F18 for the same three missions with the same opponent and ... disaster!! The missiles, exhausted the thrust of the engine, veer left or right without logic! P.S. I have always been forced to destroy the Mig with a sidewinder. Also according to me there is something wrong with the simulation of the sparrow used by the F-18. -
Many many many and many congrats!!!! Beautiful module. Keep it going!!!!

Hello everyone! Allow me to open a thread to say congratulations to the development team of the Persian Gulf scenario. Cities are evocative and the effects are truly realistic, especially those related to light and volumetries. Good job!! Now, it would be optimal if we could also update the type of aircraft in the air forces present in the scenario. Saudi Arabia: F-15C and F-15E; Iran: F-14 and F-4; UAE: Mirage 2000. You could also add some livery to the F-16s of Turkey or Jordan. A big thanks and ... keep it up!!!!

Quite right!!! Thank you!

Hi!! My version of DCS is 2.5.0.15365.345. The J-11A is no longer flyable. But why???
-
Hello everyone! Also for me the same problem of "vortices". I hope in a next fix!
-
Well done and good work !! I'm appreciating your J-11A and I hope for a J-11B with glass cockpit and the latest PLA missiles!

Problem solved!! No more green dot in the centre of the Hud!!! Many thanks to the developers!!!
-
The problem is not solved running the repair program. Instead, if I disable the "deferred shading" option, the green dot disappears from the HUD. So, since the DCS World graphics with the "deferred shading" option enabled is really nice (and my PC has a satisfactory FPS with it enabled), I do not see why I have to scale it down by turning off the option. As far as I'm concerned this is a video bug of DCS World 2.5 and I continue to hope that the development team will solve it soon. Thanks all people for the answers.

Since I updated to 2.5, on all FC3 aircrafts appears a boring green dot right in the middle of HUD. I hope you will kindly solve the problem. Many Thanks!

Hello everyone. So, I'm quite sure the Tpod in the Caucasus map (the latest update) is full of bugs. First, there is no need to change the laser code. Any laser code is fine because it is the one shot by the Tpod and not by ground troops. And this is always true, both for the Nevada map and for the Caucasus. I've perform (or at least I tried) different missions (created with the Caucasus map editor) to hit a stationary target (a command center) with a GBU. I followed the list of actions that I reported in the previous post (which are those in a nice tutorial on youtube: ). First of all, the reference octagon does not appear when the Tpod is on, but a small square appears! (should it have the same functions as the octagon?) However, the vertical release line does not appear (when it should appear) and, at least in a couple of missions, a long line of numbers (constantly changing) appeared both in the middle of the HUD and on the right MPCD of the Tpod .... glitch glitch glithc :) :). I tried to release the bomb but it always fell like a dumb bomb. I've also tried to fix the DCS World program (repair), but nothing has changed: same errors and same bugs & glithces. I thought things worked better on the Nevada map, but it is not the case as I explained in the previous post. I hope that a solution will come soon because it is my opinion that an AV8B NA without Tpod is half effective.
-
Hello to all those who read me! I'm trying to understand how the AV8B NA TPOD works. The theater that I use is Nevada because I can not make the TPOD work in the Caucasus (the correct symbology does not appear on the HUD). So now I list the operations that I carry out and I will be grateful if you show me what is wrong or what is missing. I perform the laser check code before take-off. On the left MPCD, I select the storage menu and select the GBU. I carry out the Weapons system check: Mode: Auto, Fuz: TIN, Qty: 1, Mult: 1, NORM knob In flight, directed towards the target, I activate the Tpod: 1) on the right MPCD, I select the Tpod Menu, select Stby and then TDC; 2) the octagon of the Tpod camera and the vertical release line appear on the HUD; 3) I use the TDC keys (the first one to use is TDC AFT to bring the octagon down); 4) on the right MPCD (page of the Tpod), I select PT; 5) I use the TDC keys and the ZM + and ZM- keys to capture the target; 6) I change from TRNL to LSR; 7) I change from Safe to Armed; 8 ) when I am at a right distance (about 6 nm), I select Fire and the flashing L appears on the screen of the Tpod; 9) meanwhile, the release time counter also appeared on the HUD; 10) I hold down the release button and when the thick horizontal line of the fall trajectory appears, the bomb is released. Well. All right? NOOOO!!!!! Yet something does not work because the GBU falls like a dumb bomb (and destroys a lot of sand but not the target). WHYYYYYYYYY??????? Please help me and ... many thanks in advance!!!
