Actually I think it happened yesterday while flying the Huey. In the middle of a flight, my radar altimeter just died. Maybe I just never noticed before...
Fixed wing aircraft dont have any centering springs on the rudder but they do recenter by themselves from the airflow around the control surfaces. The springs in our rudder pedals are there to simulate that airflow.
There is currently no way to remove this effect. Hopefully DCS 2.0 will get rid of that.
You can always cancel the zoom out by pressing the / or * key on the number pad.
I've flown with random system failure for a while and never experienced any failure... How often is it suppose to happen?
P.S. sorry for the thread hijacking.
I was under the impression that wind direction dictated the runway heading AI planes took off from but whatever wind direction i choose they always take off from the same runway direction. What am I missing?
Actually thats exactly what I asked. I know you cant turn off the mirror in the real plane but they dont have to deal with low framerate IRL ;)
I just wanted to know if it was possible to turn them on or off at will within a mission.
Is there any way to toggle the periscope rear view mirror on and off in the mig21?
Looking through the controls i havent seen anything that seem to do that and there appears to be no clickable hot spot on the canopy to do so.
I dont think its possible. The real -21 has the trim set to a up/down hat switch on the stick and it works fine that way.
The plane does need to be retrimmed often as speed changes, nothing you can do other then retrim frequently.
Hopefully the manual should enlighten us on the manner. For now, all I know is that you flip the switch, when the lights turns on, you can drop the tanks.
Dont get me wrong, i alsolutely love flying these birds but i personally think that for the price, there should be more contant. Thats just my opinion, you dont have to agree with it.
You only get 5 instant missions. At least the Sabre had some single missions. Either way none of them have enough content for the price they ask for, i think.
Something strange happened while i was descending from 9000m. All of a sudden, the speed and mach indicator went to 0 for about a minutes then came back to life. Pitot heat was on. What could have caused this?
Can anyone tell me what the isolating valve switchdoes in the mig-15? Ive searched all available english documentation about the mig but couldnt find my answer.
