My biggest hope is that DCS 2.0 makes planes easier to spot. Works fine when the HUD puts a box around the target but for WWII fighters, its too difficult to spot the enemy.
All this talk of WWII pacific theater made me reinstall Il-2 1946 and start a new USN career, damn you guys! :megalol:
But DCS Pacific Marines would be absolutely incredible. I would certainly loose all social life if it ever happened.
Pacific fighter was my favorite in IL-2 1946. I loved flying the F4F off a carrier and fight the Japanese over the ocean and the small islands. If it was recreated in DCS I would be in heaven :D
WWII Carrier planes
So with the (not so) recent news about carriers coming to DCS in the future, I guess we can also expect WWII carrier planes to appear not too long after and that?
The thought of flying an F4u towards a carrier for landing in a modern game makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :pilotfly:
Would you like to see WWII carrier-based warbirds in DCS? If so, which ones?
Happened to me just not playing the MiG Sweep mission in the F86.
I lookked back in the middle of the fight and noticed 4 MiGs on my tail. Thought that was strange...
Ohh and one more thing that would be nice: A next and previous button for the weapon selector. That way I could assign it to the scroll wheel on my X-55
I use the RSBN switch indicators to remember. It'll point to "navig" when nose wheel brake is off to "navigate" the taxiway and to "ldg" (landing) when nose wheel brake is on for take-off and landings.
Ok you ready for this?
But seriously: Keep your speed high, your AOA low and dont hesitate to use AB.
If you find yourself low on speed, do a turning dive.
Thats how it works best for me, your experience may differ.
