  1. Right now both versions are identical and share the same multiplayer instance. So you can join either one and you'll be in the same place. Once open beta updates, they will be out of sync again.
  2. From what I've played with the closer you fly to other objects when flying live, the more chances you will see your aircraft crash on the track replay.
  3. Done! http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Main_Page
  4. Tracks have been bugged for years. It's not on ED's list of priorities to fix.
  5. See my signature..... Intel Platinum, look them up on Intel's site. Not consumer level processors. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/processors/xeon/scalable/platinum-processors.html Mine is the 8153, two of them..... I've seen up to 28 cores on these processors in the list there.
  6. Similar for me.... I turn off MSAA and Vsync off in DCS and turn on FXAA and Vsync in Nvidia CP.
  7. ^^This..... I have a big hog of a machine for video rendering. It uses 64 cores with hyperthreading enabled. When I launch DCS, the main game puts one core to 100% and the sound uses about 50% on another core. The other 62 cores sit at idle.
  8. That's part of the old reputation system that is no longer running. Not sure if the forum admins will be turning it back on.
  9. See the thumbnail. I did reply to you back in February. I was and am just the messenger. I didn't write the high requirements, ED did. I'm just trying to provide info that can assist users in getting around the issues. A higher amount of RAM is a way to get around it until ED gets a hold of the situation.
  10. By default DCS shows on the screen you designate in Windows as your main display. If you uncheck "Full Screen View" in settings, you should be able to move it to the other screen. The other option would be to make the screen you want DCS on the main display in Windows.
  11. Looks like you just meet memory requirements for Low graphics settings on heavy missions. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/stable/
  12. Yes, they usually dedicate a person just to spectate to do the recording.
  13. Another thing you can try russhin is to turn Vertical Sync ON in the NVIDIA Control panel. The combination of that and what you already turned off in DCS, V-Sync-OFF, helped me. I also turned on Antialiasing - FXAA on in Control panel.
  14. Same here.... I'm definitely pro-no pagefile. The main reason for me is all of my current and previous machines have been stocked with plenty of main RAM for the time. Going back to the OP, Mr_sukebe, on his issues, a compromise I haven't seen much so far is to set a fixed size. If you are concerned that DCS is taking too big a chunk, just figure out a size you want to use and choose "Custom size". See the thumbnail. Set the initial and maximum to the same number and that will always be what your reserved virtual memory is. This is the method I used before I disabled it altogether.
  15. I think everyone sees that on their own profile. No issue.
  16. A) Yes. It doesn't matter which one you join as it will hit the same instance until open beta updates again. B) Yes. Open Beta could go through more than one update before it's updated on the release side.
  17. For me its multiplayer large group formations on free flight servers. Nothing like flying with a dozen other folks in a tight group across the caucus map.
  18. Thanks QuiGon! I forgot about the command prompt method you referenced. That is a quicker and more efficient method than what I listed in my last post.
  19. That's because you were not listening/comprehending. There's not a direct way to update open beta to full release. When you hit "update" on open beta it will say it's up to date. You either "update" 1.5.8 release version and it copies the open beta files or (If you do not have any prior release version installed) you download and run the release version file at which point it will also copy the files from your open beta install. It's really not rocket science. Directly from one of the moderators: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3445591&postcount=4 Also a screenshot from my machine that shows both versions are now identical. See the thumbnail. If those directories on the thumbnail do not match where yours is installed then you either changed the default location on your installs or have STEAM.
  20. You should be golden then. Good luck and have fun!
  21. Good idea, that whole Config folder in Saved Games. During the install I recall it did tell me it was copying files from the open beta.
  22. Agree with Axelerator, when you run the install, the package will put DCS in the correct folder by default. P.S. - It should install to DCS World and your previous open beta should be in a folder called C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta. If that's the case, the installer will find your old files and copy them.
  23. To do so, open your 1.5.8 release version and it should prompt you to update to 2.5 release version. When it installs it should copy most of the files from your open beta install to save on file downloads.
