I wonder if it depends on your graphics settings? I see scuff marks on the glass in 2.5.
-
Hey Rip, I've seen this reported here on another thread: F-15 Damage Model - Now a flying tank

Can't join multiplayer 2.5 stuck in loading or lobby or black cockpit
sslechta replied to Jaakov's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
Well, it was just my recommendation. I'm not the complete expert here and I'm not with ED, and there are plenty of folks out there that may have better things to try. I just thought that some answer was better than no response...... Anyhow, if you are good with computers a reinstall is no big deal anyway. -

So that ping looks good too. We'll see if someone else has suggestions...... At this point you may need to completely wipe the program and reinstall. Save your keyboard/stick bindings/options.lua, etc from the saved games folder. -

When you see the multiplayer server list, do you know what ping time you are seeing before you join? There's usually a column listed for ping in the list. -
In the case of EVGA, just go to EVGA.com and price the card you want there. It will be cheaper than the retailers escalated prices.
-
Some of the card manufacturers will allow you to buy a single card at normal price. EVGA's NVIDIA cards are one I know that does that.

Module install pop ups when starting the game
sslechta replied to uscstaylor's topic in General Bugs
Click on the installed tab and make sure all your sliders are to the right showing they are activated. See the screenshot. If they are not like that, you need to activate them from the right side of the screen. -
Module install pop ups when starting the game

Have you actually gone in to Module Manager and checked the modules there? -
#4 sounds like the mission is not set for repairs at that airstrip. Check mission settings.

Just backup the whole Saved Games DCS folder. You also have an options lua for your monitor settings and your stick bindings in those folders too.
-
Yes, I believe I've seen posts that they want to fix that before full release.
-
In the first screenshot you can see on the Details tab you can right-click on the tab header like CPU, and then choose Select columns. On the second screenshot, I chose CPU time, handles, and threads. At that point you can sort by the processes that have the most threads.
-
Release version will install to a different folder but I believe it looks for needed files in your OB folder first so there's less files to download.
-
So with that video it looks like CPU utilization and frames go up from 1 to 2 processors but does not change when you add more. I wonder if any more info could be learned by adding the CPU Time, Threads, and Handles columns on the Task Manager Details tab?

Ok I Pulled The sidewinder trigger and Pre-Ordered Bring on DCS FA-18
sslechta replied to charlesnett's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Just pre-ordered as well.... I've been away for about 6 months and came back on the open beta 2.5 release..... Been sharpening my skills on my previous favorite, the F-15. -
RE: Page files..... I used to keep a fixed size as well so Windows wasn't constantly changing it. After I upgraded to 32 Gig RAM I set the page file to zero. When I'm running beta 2.5 my memory utilized is usually in the 12-14 Gig range during flight. I don't believe I've seen it go over 16 Gig at this point.
-
That may install separate like paid modules do. You may need to visit the Module Manager and see if there's an available download there.
-
Completely understood. I just enjoyed the education of those tools that you used since the default Task Manager view I use does not provide enough information.

Wader8, thanks for spending the time with Windows Performance Analyzer to explain how DCS runs on our systems. Very good info there!
-
If C: drive Program Files\Eagle Dynamics is empty, you'll need to find out where the install is then. You should be able to right-click on your DCS Shortcut, Shortcut, (pun intended) and get the folder location of the install. Then you would be able to get that log for Bignewy.

That host controls wired and wireless devices which could include your flight stick, keyboard, mouse, etc...... Spoolsv is the process connecting to your printers. By disabling the Device Association Framework Provider Host process you will sabotage most of your PC’s connections with external devices. Regardless of the performance problems you encounter, disabling DasHost.exe is not a feasible strategy because it severely cripples your system. Words to the wise before you start killing system processes.....

Yup, any Video Editor can add a sound track. If you're on a budget, Microsoft offers the free Movie Maker as a download if it's not already on your machine. Very basic editing but can import audio.
