  1. Interesting hardware. The sim itself looks pretty poor graphically, even for a military sim. I wonder how many displays output it, or what resolution it is. Do you think the software has to be purpose written for that hardware, or could they use something like VBS 1?
  2. Nice Rain in Rise Of Flight Rise of flight has the best Rain effect I have seen in a flight sim. When they implemented it there was no change in FPS at all. It has some very cool effects where the rain drops roll the correct way depending on "what way up" you are. E.g. I cashed my plane and was upside down and the rain drops where flowing the correct way, "Up" my goggles. heh heh. They also streak more depending on speed and wind. Id love if they could "borrow" the effect from RoF.
  3. I turn off the "Clutch" ability and use that button for TrackIR recenter, it's not used in jacks profile (or he uses it for external voice comms)...iirc
  4. I enjoyed BS but A10 more so, I also find it far easier.
  5. Yeah saw that RPG video on Apache Clips. I have never seen anything like that before. Stunning footage. I can't even begin to comprehend the fear involved in such an attack.
  6. It should just contain assignments for the Ministick axis, as you say. And also the Throttle Slider for Speedbrake. The rest of the controls are assigned within the sim. These are contained in the other file that comes with the .ZIP. (.lua) Load this into your controls page in DCS A10. Sorry if I haven't understood what you where asking.
  7. Yeah, I think every one has wanted that for a long time too.
  8. I'd really like to be able to change options (specifically graphical options) while we are in flight via the ESC menu like in other games. I think this would make getting our graphics to the perfect balance much easier. It would also help me and probably others understand the performance impact of all the various options much better. E.g. what I can afford to crank up and what might be causing more fps drop than I expect. The fact that the launcher and program are separate makes me believe the chances for this change are remote for now. But it might interesting to see who else would like this change. Is there a particular technical reason as to why these settings are inaccessible from in game? Even things like changing sound volumes and control mappings are quite a pain at the moment (if you start a mission and realise you need to change something), especially with the (understandably) long load times.
  9. Actually, I have had this problem before but just never though to mention it. I have seen it for as long as the Betas IIRC. When you zoom in really close with the WHOT or BHOT (dunno about CCD) the textures on vehicles start flashing (Z Fighting I think its called). If you zoom out a little bit it stops. It could definitely be a HDR thing. It's similar to the flashing/disappearing of shadows you some time see on ground level.
  10. I use Use TGP all the time too. I maybe imagining it, but I feel that spotting targets on the MAV sensor is way harder than it was with Lock On
  11. Nice set of pics (On ApacheClips) showing damaged coalition aircraft from 1991 Gulf War. http://www.apacheclips.com/media/31787/Damageddestroyed_Coalition_aircrafts_in_Gulf_War/ I'd love to see a documentary detailing each incident. Edit, just noticed below is a nice description of each event.
  12. F16 combat pilot on the C64. I hadn't a breeze what the heck I was doing, but it was fun to randomly press buttons and see what might happen. :joystick:
  13. so will the next patch fix it so we don't have to edit the files to fix this blurry texture problem? And what if you don't want to run High scenes? (Im having enough perf probs as it is with this patch). Do those user discovered tweaks work for medium visibility settings, will it return the clarity to 1.06 levels?
  14. same problems for me since the last patch
  15. Absolutely Sweet!
  16. GTX295 does go up to 11 Heh heh, great movie. I too have the same card. Recently, for the first time with DCSA10, I disabled SLI for my DCSA10 nvidia profile (to see if it would help a current prob I am having) and Wow, SLI does make a big difference to DCSA10. One odd thing I notice about Matt's setup is he must have SLI disabled as he is running 256 for "Cockpit display Res". And if SLI was enabled he would be getting a lot of flicker on the MFCD with this setting. Just an observation. I sure would love to know his thoughts on the whole SLI DCS thing and if there are any plans regarding it. It's so rare to find a developer that is using a SLI system.
  17. I'm not technical, but I think its a voltage problem or something related to the power running through the device. For example; when you press the clutch button and the LEDs flash, it really causes this jumpy slider axis to worsen by quite a bit. You could try turning off all LEDs to see if that helps. I personally gave up trying to use the slider for zoom. You could also set the slider up in a 3 "band" configuration (using the profile software rather than assigning it as an axis in game); where first section is Zoom out, Centred is no command and the last section is Zoom in. Pretty pathetic of Saitek to not have fixed this problem with the Pro release.
  18. Nice, what graphical effects do you use? Do you have Bloom and High Contrast switched off?
  19. Nvidia User here. I have seen this bug one time since 1107.
  20. I have it switched on and use TiR, but I have no clue what it does. I never notice my head move, other than when I move it with the Tir.
  21. I too have been getting more stutter, especially when other units fire weapons. I will get the new Full installed and try that. Thanks for the patch though
  22. Now he tell us ! :megalol: One simple thing that would make it a bit stronger would be if they added that little bit of rubber you get on head phones wires/jacks, to keep it strongest where it flexes most. hard to explain it. We could do with that where the wire exits the trackClip. I think that's what caused mine to break. The wire was able to move about too much from me turning my head left and right where it enters the TCP so it broke inside.
  23. I'm on my second TCP. The wire connection came loose on the last one. I know it's supposed to be light weight but you cant help but feel it could be a little sturdier. What I really want to see them make is a Wireless TrackClipPro. This should surely be possible with a little rechargeable battery like the Nvidia 3D vision glasses use. I might try to make one when this current TCP breaks.
  24. Nice pic and collection, thanks! Great to see the Birds of Prey box again, loved that.
  25. Agreed. +1 for future improvements to the TGP FLIR. Welcome to the forum sorcer3r :sorcerer:
