  1. I do like canopy reflections. I think in multiplayer it is up to the server, then whether they choose to disable reflections or make it optional then that works for both of us. I have it on and you do not. If a multiplayer server forces it on then that surely works for us both as I am happy and you can be free to decide to stay or play... I think this works fine.
  2. I have never seen this. I only fly MT. Are you chasing the ball into a turn or is the ball far extreme right or far extreme left?
  3. Would that be a cheat in PVP when flying against others that fly with reflections? I guess in single player it is fine, in multiplayer it should be up to the server.
  4. Yes this will be a very special module when it arrives... it will be worth the wait!
  5. Long time 1 year, goes fast, but a long time.
  6. I would suggest not using any hover symbology on your IHADDS at take off as the hover mode and BoB up modes are super incredibly accurate but do not give the information that you need to overcome a dynamic roll over that you guys are experiencing at take off. The hover mode and BoB up modes are so accurate, that I find it very difficult to chase, capture and perfectly hold such precision instruments. I suggest using the "transition" IHADDS symbology as this gives you the dotted line that represents the absolute horizon on your IHADDS display as well as a crude drift measurement... again it is an extremely accurate display that shows your position (LOS or centre cross) and a perfect horizon line. Any lean whilst wheels down in the airframe is depicted. I would also suggest setting your LOS level to the horizon line (water line ?) as part of your start up sequence, Set it so that your LOS cross hair is sitting level with the horizon line with the chopper sitting idle on the ramp. This level line of LOS and horizon will help combat roll.... and as a bonus, this will also be about right for the airborne hover as this chopper hovers tail low. Before taking off trim very slightly left on the cyclic as standard (no wind). increase collective very slowly and balance the IHADDS centre LOS cross hair to perfectly align with the horizon line by using the pedals only. When you go wheels light concentrate on the LOS sight alignment to the horizon and look for any yaw rotation (nose rotating left or right) and compensate with the pedals.... off course the tail rotor sits high above the tail boom and will induce roll.... use the cyclic to oppose the roll. With every millimetre increment of collective, the pedals will need to be adjusted to compensate for collective torque. This pedal adjustment will induce airframe roll. Compensate for the Roll with the cyclic (think directional pressure on the cyclic to compensate). Every adjustment should be small. It may be worth considering an older, less realistic DCS chopper to learn the basics, the Huey or MI-8 perhaps.
  7. yep that is the one. I already read everyone else's problems with the weights. It is fine for me, I just need a well built counter balance system which this does offer. Me too. I think the KU will be the ultimate test whether it is possible to use it in VR. But without doubt, the solid and stiff actuation of button in the total control units is 3 dimensional positional awareness in its self. It drives me nuts finding measurements for the Apache pilot station and at a later date the CPG station.
  8. Yes no curves required on the collective. The collective is linear.... what the Auto stabs do with that linear input is more the question.... for me there is nothing that the Auto Stabs do that warrants any concern... unless I am totally fixated on the percentage number on my HMD display and I am chasing a number. Auto hover in the vertical dimension seems to be a little twitchy, which is dangerous for an attack chopper but ultimately nothing problematic for a pilot concentrating solely on hovering. The true trick with the Apache is to look through the HMD display and fly the machine. The HMD display are guides only (very good guides.. excellent guides infact) but you must fly the machine first then use the the HMD display to aid you to be better.
  9. Yeah I need to think about buying the online counter balance fix from America before the mad rush starts! The silence from Virpil creates far to much doubt about which way we should throw our hard earned cash!
  10. The Flight model improved with MT. I have not tried ST as a comparison but in MT it improved without doubt. It is a small improvement but without doubt she is more stable and cleaner to pull into a hover. She offers the pilot more ability to anticipate what she will naturally do next and this allows the pilot to ride the chaos to his/her advantage. It is possibly due to more modelling time in the CPU as Multithreading is used to off load some workload to other cores..... perhaps. I click trim by the way, I do not hold-adjust-release the trim..... without doubt the Apache has the best trim system of all DCS helicopters! ...... so forgiving .... so natural and liquid. It feels like it catches up with the pilot smoothly.... lovely!
  11. The Virpil Apache collective looks fantastic. The Apache collective looks incredibly long in real life so I am not so concerned about the bog standard base collective being used. But I would expect the full resolution of the magnectic sensor to be utilised within or close to the Apache's actual physical movement. My Wallet is prewarned and spooled for action.... a day one pre-order right here.... my first and hopefully not my last Virpil product. My dream has come true!... The KA-50 II will love this collective.
  12. FCR, radar targeting is the only thing that makes this airframe truly legend. As is, I can out perform this airframe with a French EC665.... believe me... it is a thing. The longbow will be in DCS! Comms: I start killing left of formation and you start killing right of formation still works well.
  13. In the vids you are looking off centre of the barrel of the 50 cal. Both gun and skull need to be aligned to virtual at calibration. I am starting to think a real bolted together pit is the only way to ensure true alignment in VR if true life objects need to be interacted with. But what you are doing is fabulous no matter what I say, It is heading toward "perfection".
  14. Yep it needs multicrew from day one. Hey hannibal, You need to calibrate your VR headset to virtual actual.... this should include your gun mounts. Believe me I am doing the same thing with the total controls Apache MPDs, In VR, I am 90% successful with each MPD keypress at the mo. That is Skull and eye tracking to real finger precision of at least 2 cm error at the minimum.... you guys ain't even looking in the same place of point fire! Do we need a point of calibration for VR, A calibration point, a source to look at quickly to align our skulls to the position we occupy in virtual? yes is the answer.
  15. No it is no bug. Laser burn out is a thang! It really is a Thing! You need to time your shots and take the 30 mins cool down when doing a reload at the farp. Every weapon has its Achilles' Heal and the mighty KA-50 has a large Achilles' Heal... a serious lag in technology.
  16. Are you guys going to do a Tedac controller? Apache MPD quality bitter! Nicht KA-50 Abris quality bitter!
  17. FCR is the only thing that makes this machine truly great. The ability to engage targets without unmasking is the Holy Grail itself. It is coming, even if it is in 2024.... it is coming! The AH-64D will beat the Gazelle!
  18. I have to admit, I have never seen this. When I need to dive for cover the collective drops first, the pedals and stick follow and their fluid positions are dictated by the direction of egress and airframe reaction to the collective drop. I always try to maintain enough collective to guarantee main blade manoeuvre authority. All 3 inputs are changing constantly whilst I move the machine to a far more advantageous defensive position. everything is wet and liquid. Every pedal input is heart thumping stuff as I drop deep into trees, roll speed and yaw are true fluidity to the machines position in safe space. There is nothing like fighting a weapon platform into a tight safe space and hovering, always wondering did I do enough.... it is a glorious achievement when the missile passes over you. The Apache so far, is the best for fighting a defensive position and then pushing a retaliatory firing solution. I love the wobble. I want so much more from George. I really want more from George! I guess this is 8 or 9 years of DCS choppers muscle memory... but mostly KA-50 dogfighting where it is all main blade authority and fantastic pedal Authoratar! Bone idle pedal authority is the plague of most fighter pukes in choppers..... it is also the plague of a lot of virtual chopper pilots. I will hate the day the the Apache is sterilised to "real" ..... I will hate it! It will be so bland and rigid, gone will be its liquidity, its exaggerated personality.
  19. Fantastic as usual! Thank you for your hard work.
  20. Incredible that ED have chosen the CH-47 to model as the next chopper in DCS. Truly incredible! Such a machine, that has limited appeal due to weapons load outs, but is a sexual Tyrannosaurus Rex in the logistics field. If this is a statement of intent of the future.... then I am all in! I am really looking forward to this Bluefor Giant.... master logistics of ground warfare. Us chopper boys never had it so good I reckon!.... fu&k!n A!
  21. Indeed, Once mastered, what seemed a massive workload becomes ordinary, boring and easy. Time, perseverance and a lot of blood and sweat is all that is needed to win this battle!
  22. I will look at the tail rotor pitch AeriaGloria, I will look at it the next time I spool up the devil Hind. I will also look at the oil cooler, but as I pay little attention to the minute details... I will probably offer little to this discussion. I love the detail people like you bring to my attention.
