  1. Simply sublime in a jet fighter. Spring engaged, drop the damping factor by 5 or 6 clicks and it is just a lovely experience, 45 degs turn and pushing the rudder to drop the nose onto the target.
  2. As a chopper I love pilot figures, you are always looking over and down over your virtual body during flight. It is something that constantly happens whether looking through the choppers chin blister or head tracking a ground target as it passes below you to the right. For me this is the jet aircraft that places the pilot body in a very reclined position with his knees high... the pilots body and legs are always in view. it must be a very interesting view in VR sitting in the 16's pit, knees high and body slumped back (g-force reclined). Is there a pilot body coming?
  3. Try the Harrier and see how you transition between jets and helicopters....... It is a mental mind F&$% trying to bring the harrier into a hover landing.
  4. It is. I had to take my holidays before my installations began, so unfortunately, no Apache for me during my time off! I am putting my time into the Harrier and comms for choppers.
  5. I would enjoy the F-16 with mavericks on the wing tips AlphaOneSix, why will you not let me enjoy the F-16? I own the F-16 but i just cannot play it because there are no mavericks on the wing tips!!!!! drives me nuts! I do not like it! It will create complaints on each eye view that will drain bug fixing for the Apache! No you must have mistaken pancake.... there I know they can do whatever they like...... which is fine for me!
  6. I fundamentally cannot relate to this comment AlphaOneSix, it is like taking a fundamental optic sight of the Apache and gaming it. I like my F-16 to carry mavericks on the wingtips, I believe it offers better accessibility to the gaming market! as an AH-64 fan.... I just cannot get that..... a bit like real life.... it ain't available. Starting to get worried here, I am sure you are referencing pancake players. .
  7. Dreadful! This is horrific news to me.
  8. I am starting to read about settings in the forum, is 0.75 a setting in vrperfkit?
  9. Indeed. Getting used to it is all that is needed in VR. Can you imagine if a "choice" was offered and the amount of work ED would have to put into fixing the blurry ness of a stereo scopic centred vision monocle in VR.... Especially when ED should actually be fine tuning the correct right eye monocle of our DCS VR Apache AH-64D..... a monocle that has been worn since the AH-64A in the 1980s! Sometimes I struggle to understand where the world is right now!
  10. As raptor said..... In VR there is no way the Apache will be diluted to fit the masses. You either have the right stuff or you do not..... fly pancake if you need the monocle centred.
  11. It is very nice to have all the maps as flyable. Of course I am currently flying Steam SS @ 50% and 2 x Msaa..... but it is very nice to have head room above 45fps to play with. I expect as the steam SS increases towards 100% I can say goodbye to a few maps.... which is fine, as long as I can hold onto Syria and all lower maps..... I would like to hold onto Beirut running at a smooth 45fps though. But that is for the future, for now I am ready for Apache delivery.... everything else is rescinded.
  12. I bought it from chillblast, UK. They originally built my gaming PC and I asked if I could get it as an upgrade path. price was acceptable compared to what I was seeing on the internet as a private purchase. The only down side was that I had to accept whatever they had in stock at the time.... which is fine for me and the price I had to pay!
  13. Yeah I get that, we are very lucky to have the pilot body option in the menus. I love the pilot body. In the Gazelle you can really get into tight spots and looking down and right towards troops on the ground below you, it is just incredible to see your shoulder there as well.... for choppers especially.... it is superb to see your body at work whilst looking through all the open doors or chin blisters. but I understand what you are saying.
  14. I honestly seem to have no problem leaning over my virtual limbs to see the buttons and actuate them. However, through familiarity, I know what needs me to perform a quick toggle of the body off in order to reach those impossible buttons.... adjust... and then toggle body on. As Westr above mentioned, the pilot body just finishes the product. Also I love looking down and not seeing a gut sticking out, it has been a few years since I have enjoyed seeing that!
  15. Can I manually take control of the, what is it called... stabilizer.... the flexible tail wing. Can I manually control its position? Basically can I override it's automated position and what controls do I need to do that? I think this may have been discussed before.... or was that the UH-60 mod?
  16. Are there any measurements how these MFDS sit in relationship to the pilot in the X,Y and Z axis? As well as physical separation between each MFD. (for both the co pilot but more importantly the pilot)?
  17. Thank you eaglecash867. I was very hesitant to pull the trigger on the 64 gig Ram and 3090 upgrade. It is a vast sum of money to invest in my only game and it was a very difficult decision to make. After your input, I squeezed the trigger and the hammer dropped onto the firing pin. With my original 2080ti graphical DCS settings, it is quite unbelievable what the 3090 gives. Damascus and Lebanon full fluid fast manoeuvrability in the Hind.... no stutter in a low hard left yaw hover over Umayyin square. Solid 45 fps yaw turning over the presidential palace as the "city total" horizontally slid by.... smoothly and cleanly... never dropping below 45.... impressive indeed! The channel map in the Hind.... Oh my! Before this, the channel map was a dream in the HUEY! My original reason for buying the 3090 was to get the HP G2 up to full rez (SS 100%), but I am not so sure that is a priority now.
  18. for sure the sim is not quite like real life, but it is a start. I think some sort of mod should be used to clear the glass, but without doubt an integrity check in multiplayer is an essential way of kicking those mods out in order to level the playing field to DCS default.
  19. I have the pilot body toggle button assigned to a button next to the mirrors toggle. I rarely toggle the pilot body off.
  20. There is always reflection on glass within any cockpit, it is the law of physics and how light travels and bounces around and reflects off other surfaces. I think its one of those totally superb, no compromise designs in the DCS engine!
  21. I agree, In an Attack chopper (low and fast) it is not just getting to the destination or attack point, but the journey getting there that always lasts in my memory. Its all fantastic!
  22. This is such a good upgrade! The moment I saw this upgrade I knew this was possibly everything I wanted from a pedal.... but I waited..... why..... WHY? IT IS SUCH AN AWESOME UPGRADE FOR CHOPPER PILOTS! Remove the spring and say good bye to the centre detent. Crank up the dampers resistance and say hello to Oily liquid movement from your pedals..... Trim hold is the default bonus! Retraining your legs to work without a self centering spring takes a bit of work... it is a little bit closer to the real thing. If you own V1 or V2 MFGs be careful of retightening the bearing, plastic grip nuts make it very difficult to feel how you are overtightening the bearing. Slowly tighten until there is no more vertical free play in the bearing assembly (it will not move up or down). if you overtighten, I am sure it will be stiction hell! It is probably only a fantastic upgrade for jets too mind (with spring and centre detent..... obvie).
  23. Precision guided missiles would be a good start, working the airframe to achieve a simple goal of destroying armour, AAA or missile ground defence systems is a good and specific reason for the airframes existence..... everything else is candy (or the cherry on top as us British would say). The Hot Missile is all we need for now. Lets get the bird airworthy first.
  24. Wags, you dare devil! Stop playing your achievements down!
  25. I bought a 3090 and 64 gig of Ram for my system, as well as a dust clean and general service. Generally, that is how I estimate the visual hit for the Apache in VR. I have already experienced it with the clouds upgrade in VR I have already experienced it with the graphics upgrade in VR I have already experienced it with the high end and awesomely modelled Hind in VR. Indeed a very expensive upgrade to keep my VR mouth above the flooding water. In Pancake it may be fine. The multi core Engine and Vulcan must come soon!..... The Weapon must fly smoothly, beautifully and with true intent of purpose.
