After release.... I do wonder if a WAH-64 would be possible..... at cost of course!

She is going to be sweet! Going to take allot of schooling to get the best out of this Heavy weight attack chopper.

+1 Hueyman Nicely said and if it is on par with the MI-8 it will be worth every penny.. -
3090 and G2 Experiences and Settings
Rogue Trooper replied to speed-of-heat's topic in Virtual Reality
VR is the only thread I watch in DCS, windows or steam.... I watch it like a hawk. I think you now have a a 3090 Speed-of-heat, what frame improvement do you see? Also are you a jet guy, WWII guy or chopper guy? I think you are jet guy, What improvement would you say you see on the new aircraft carrier with deck hands? what do you see online? And how do you think that runs with the CPU blockage DCS offers. Would you say you see at least a 10 fps advantage before the CPU jams everything up? please do not quote free flight values, I can get to where I need to be with the 2080ti and G2 in free flight. I need to know if DCS can handle the 3090 upgrade and whether it is worth the cost, the G2 is visually an upgrade from my G1 and if I set the G2 to my G1 settings I am very happy with it online and in complex low level flight in amongst the buildings of dubai fighting ground forces. -
Is this girl going to carry stingers? I would say those would put this weapon well and truly into the DCS engine like a block of concrete...... after 2002 of course. She was certainly cleared to use such a weapon. Whether she actually flew in real life with stingers is worth nothing as an argument in Peer to Peer combat that DCS offers as standard. do I smell the fragile arses of air superiority?

Please remember that these machines long outlasted numerous pilots. The detail should look weathered and worn for the day us noobiles sit in this girls pit.

Copy that. A environment where I will use it in DCS would be fabulous.... but we will get there.

I think it depends on the headphones and amplification. As mentioned earlier I also used to select the "hear in helmet" option which gave a far more muted sound effect to the machine around you. I disabled this with the new G2 as I found the sound of the aircraft far too low but have since found a new sound to enjoy with these DCS modules. The in helmet sound is great but without it I am amazed how much detail goes into the sound of these machines and how different they sound in comparison to each other. The detail of sound in these simulated aircraft and how the electronic whining falls in and out of phase with the pulse and beat of the engine is just superb. But yes, less volume more detail.... you are right

gets confusing, 45 fps locked with reprojection on (still using the notepad). Any filtration or blurring of the wider image set firmly off. -

Of the top of my head, you mean re projection permanently locked at 45? Smoothing is different... I am probably on the wrong page here.... VR stuffs changes so fast. I should also note that I have a PC that has only DCS on it.... nothing else. DCS needs it then its loaded, DCS don't need it then it ain't loaded. so no Steam sub menus for me. -

Either 90 or 45 will give perfect fluid images. I think VR does not work well with anything outside its refresh rate or half its refresh rate or even a fixed custom rate (60). Anything outside these fixed points (45, 60, 90) is very noticeable. Why oh why they did not include some sort of advanced dynamic frame rate is just beyond me. -

No motion smoothing, for me it is plaster over the cracks. Better to get plenty of headroom above 45 fps. -

But I will try it again, since owning the G2 I have become a firm believer in deleting the FXO and metashader files. -

I tried it with my 2080ti but no... no good. I fly choppers and I turn fast below 10 metres altitude, A tight turn creates a slight stutter as a fast detailed terrain whips through your upward looking field of view .... The helicopter is perfectly controllable but it just pulls you out of the all engaging DCS VR world and back into the real.... the perfection is gone. Perfect 45 fps must be maintained for me.... no higher.... no less. VR is just soooo damned good. Never would I have imagined the true bliss of sitting in a 20 million dollar weapon...... Never! -

I find there is too much shimmer without MSAA. But I will try your settings for sure and without MSAA but for me.... switching off flat shadows gave me 2X MSAA. -

At the moment I am using the G2 with glasses so I am very much enjoying the space and comfort that this headset offers as standard. My VR opticians are inbound at some point in the new year and then I will re-evaluate. I am, also running 2 X Msaa with DCS Msaa window (?) set at 1. I am running at 60% steam SS with DCS PD at 1 (this will never change....probably). Fixed terrain shadows would have been nice with the g1 and I still dream about having them with the G2.... terrain shadows are far too expensive for me. I will next drop down to 54% steam SS as 60% just causes too many drops below 45 fps when I am online and or in complex missions. I am locked and loaded to 45 fps..... anything higher is just a fairy tale to me. -
Good luck with the rift C3PO, I think you will find a videa capture quite different to goggs on.

The baby Jesus built me to love this weapon. I think I will find my home with this girl..... it all sounds just about right to me. I think I have finally come home. I can configure the X,Y and Z scan planes of the radar? no not the depth....... silly me I am giddy, I can configure the height of the scan as well as the width?

Who will win the race between the Mi-24 and the OH-58?
Rogue Trooper replied to Razorback's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
Looking forward to sitting in the OH-58s pit. Not sure if it will have the fabulous visibility of the Gazelle, but looking forward to occupying that PIT in VR. To Polychops for the future: The Tiger please. The Tiger. Please lets get some European know how into this heavy weight equation.. -
