I would rather they delay and get it right. I Always worry about buying brand new cutting edge stuff and upon arrival it is full of bugs.

DCS Mi-8 is 7 years now, time for an update ?
Rogue Trooper replied to Hueyman's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
As chopper pilots this is our lot in life in DCS, just except it. However, If we said, for example, that we want the graphics overhauled and we are willing to pay but we also want the rescue winch on the MI-8 to come with it, then we are doing something different. If we actually want a graphical fella lowered from our winch above the left door, gloriously modelled within the graphic engine and it comes with our graphical makeover, then this becomes something very much worthwhile to both ED and us. Once the coding is done, this would affect all modules old and future... and we would be a happier bunch of rotor heads for it..... No? I am up for it. Lets pay for what we want with each module that has fallen behind..... but lets do it intelligently. Not expecting everything in one go..... Duh! I guess our only problem is that there are not too many modules to bargain with.... DOH! -
I can not wait to look down at my chest in VR and see that superb looking flight Garb.

As long as ED can fit in the popping Christmas lights, then I am doing OK.
-
EEEeeeeewwww, a Hind 2021 release date is so upsetting. What is a chopper pilot to do over Christmas?

Kiowa practice, use Huey or Balck Shark?
Rogue Trooper replied to gdotts's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
Give it a rest Alec. There is no medal for regurgitating old arguments and saying what has been already said. Your observations of the OH-58D videos are worthless unless you have actually manhandled the actual module and this you have not done. Relax, let us see where we go.and what we have on release, a fella can look real stupid without the patience to wait for what unfolds.. -
yep. I like it, just seems to work right for me. Once you Jet pukes get over it, I think it will sit alright with you too.... probably take a while mind.

what improvements and what rack? I gotsta know.

Agreed, When I first got my VR driver system, in pancake I ran 130 fps down las Vegas strip with my old I5 system settings (60 fps originally). Slipping over to VR with the same settings I got 60 fps. Eventually I settled with 45 fps (locked) as a good compromise. It is a very expensive gamble. But once VR is experienced firing on all cylinders with all your cash and soul thrown in...... there is no gamble it is just fabulous! The cockpit is great but the 15 feet tall trees are awesome to this chopper pilot!. :) Its all in Bud ....... cutting edge and all that sh*t. Been waiting 30 years for this one.

Has Deka decided yet? What's their next module?
Rogue Trooper replied to J-20's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
yes. The chinese wanted to produce a kamov attack chopper and Kamov being an intelligent company realised very quickly that the Chinese would simply take the first production run, reverse engineer it and manufacture it for them selves. So they only agreed to design a new chopper for them under contract. Only one of us is deluded.... I wonder which one? -
I am ok with it. But then again, I am a chopper pilot and we adapt to anything real fast. XX

The wireless thing sounds good for most of the population but I like my wired headset as it is. It is a bit more like a wired/tubed in pilot. Let us see what the G2 brings and what DecaGear need to equal and surpass.

I do not mind a 2021 release as long as the hind comes this year. Each and every chopper in DCS world is schooled total and proper by me. A little time in between releases is no bad thing
-
Quite quick and snappy actually. Would a post activity be better next to each module, like a current activity next to the historical post number.... That way you can watch the entire forum flow on one page and quickly dive in to attack once a change is seen?

There is NOTHING free in this world. If the mirror is seen on the monitor then work is being done, no matter how small, it is work best served on my VR Goggs!

Ok, My last post was very much Alcohol fuelled! And I was very nasty calling for heads to roll. Now that I have had time to recover from my initial shock and re-ingested a fresh amount of alcohol.... is it so bad? I will investigate tonight.

What the FuUK is occurring here! What BullSh!t website have I just spent 3 minutes trying to log into? Is this the Excel high end equation forum website from some bullsh!t university?????? I would actually like to see heads role for this.

Will the NS430 development on the C-101 include coms and pit steam gauge integration with the NS430?
-
I cannot find fault in Alec Delorians' argument here. It is as I find it, PD is just a nightmare for frame rates. Perhaps the technical reasons may be incorrect but the results are spot on and that is all we need. No need to muddy the waters on this topic as far as I am concerned. 1.0 PD is the max!

Are the Russians developing a clone of APKWS laser rockets?
Rogue Trooper replied to Rick50's topic in Military and Aviation
An Russian equivalent APKWS would be an massive upgrade to our Russian rotary air wing. If the hind can laze it then the MI-8 can kill it... they would be an awesome pair. -
Belsimtek won't forget, delayed perhaps, but ultimately Belsimtek know how to configure their choppers controllers.

Kiowa practice, use Huey or Balck Shark?
Rogue Trooper replied to gdotts's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
Is this argument still pumping on. This discussion is so yesterday. Move on and lets see how the dice fall shall we! Man alive! -
I have found my peace with 45 Hz fixed. VR fps can get worse but eventually it will get better. 3 dimensional life sized worlds for me from now on. VR is well past its starting point and will only get better, but you have to love the gains more than the loses.
