  1. The collective Looks superb Viper1970. Incredible shape and design.
  2. AH-6 would be good... any of them. I would like mine to be a good stiff whisky when it comes to the AH-1...... superb versatility. For Blue side larger utility choppers, a Merlin, Puma or NS-90 would be top of my list. Pave Low would go to the top of that list if it was on offer, great equipment and air to air capability..... I would be happy to use it as a basic utility chopper.
  3. It Does indeed look good.
  4. I tend to use the Thrustmaster Gui on my warthog. This can give 5 layers for every button on the warthog stick, throttle and MFDs. I/O and U/M/D. I/O will be the pilot/copilot selector for Hotas operation. U/M/D will be set appropriately to each Pilot/copilot needs. Thrustmaster will easily out Hotas the Apache Longbow.... the problem is remembering a complex Hotas system in an already complex VR cockpit. My Apache thrustmaster programme will grow as I slowly learn this Chopper....... very much looking forward to the challenge. Bring it on!
  5. The Pilot looks superb. I just love sitting in this air frames Pit, it just looks like a well worn marine that gets better and better with time. Razbam, Please please please allow the DCS main menu selection of “show pilot body in cockpit as default” to decide whether the pilot is shown as standard in cockpit. I feel this selection in the main menu is self explanatory and as an adult I knew what I was getting into when I clicked it. For the majority of users that hate the pilot body in cockpit then I would suggest not clicking the “show pilot body in cockpit as default” icon in the standard menus as it may offend them. Razbam…… you are the kings of pilot figures in pits, please act like it.
  6. I remember wags doing the Viggen pre-release.... I think.
  7. It is going to be weird sitting in the SIM pit of an Apache again.... especially in VR.... What a leap from where I started with Microsoft gunship! Sitting in a pit that will be thoroughly modelled and 3 dimensional, with its vast glazing. It will be amazing. I have to admit that I feel a little intimidated by the thought of such a massive technological leap in DCS choppers. It will require a total understanding of a very complex weapon..... I think we need the manual now.
  8. This machine will certainly cause me to rethink my virtual pit. I need to get my Thrustmaster MFDs upfront and solidly mounted to some sort of large~ish removable front panel that conveniently bolts to the desk??? Will capto gloves come to the rescue?
  9. I also think every thing has been pushed back for a big ED roll out to the core engine. or should I say I hope.
  10. Oh I do hope so. If Vulcan can manage a 10 fps increase I will be very happy.
  11. Yeah I would love a Merlin. I would need low settings for my SimShaker Jetseat as these choppers are super smooth and vibration free.
  12. For flying any DCS chopper module, I want the Apache collective 1st and the OH-58D collective 2nd...... all the other collectives I have seen on real helicopters just don't offer the versatility that they do. I want.
  13. I I found no profit here. I just leave the VR MSAA mask at 1 with DCS AA at x2 and find my gains else where.
  14. Waiting is what us Chopper guys do.
  15. Yeah but this is DCS VR..... lets enjoy the freedom.
  16. More powerful engines and lighter too. Transmission is the same mind.
  17. At the moment I find the standard G2 configuration very comfortable and will stick with it for now. My VR opticians lenses take up far to much room for me to even consider getting closer to improve FOV. I will not be going back to lens smear from my eye lashes like the G1. I love my nose gasket where it is.
  18. BS3 is important as it offers Redfor a far more capable machine whilst Bluefor gains the very capable Apache. It is about balance, and whilst the BS3 is not quite up to the Apaches capabilities it will offer a good stop gap until the next Russian advanced Heavy attack chopper. Us Chopper boys like some sort of equality in our sim. The Hind does not compute between these two technologically advanced weapons.
  19. Pave low please. Terrain following radar, air to air refuelling and just enough heavy lift capability. The Pave Low bad boy would tick all the boxes to make it desirable and distinctive in DCS.
  20. PD 1.0 is the only setting in VR. Syria is not for VR pilots right now..... but I have a feeling something is afoot with ED regarding the graphics engine in the next 2 months. Its a feeling I am getting in my waters.
  21. Gun tracking in VR is just natural, you turn your head, align the cross hair and pull the trigger, if compensation is required your head tracks in true 1:1 scale which makes it easy to walk the fire just a few meters.... very natural. In Track IR you have to mentally compute how the compensation curves (that allow you to look at your 6 whilst keeping your eyes on the monitor in front of you) relates to where your target is and then stiffen your neck to control head movement to the target that sits just on the point where the software curve increases view movement in relation to head movement........ offffff....... very complicated in comparison.
  22. DCS won't let us down. I hope the Pits not too clean and I wonder what the weird Pilot Night Vision System will be like with only one eye. I bet it will be weird in VR! Cockpit lights on for the left eye so all instruments can be perfectly focused on and read, right eye immersed in night vision coming from the PNVS some 2 meters in front of you..... spooky wierd. It had better look like super cooled heavy weight night vision optics!!!
  23. After release.... I do wonder if a WAH-64 would be possible..... at cost of course!
