I have found my peace with 45 Hz fixed. VR fps can get worse but eventually it will get better. 3 dimensional life sized worlds for me from now on. VR is well past its starting point and will only get better, but you have to love the gains more than the loses.

The actual torque readout on the dash is separate from our gaming collective position. What is the torque reading? Flying the real life R22 was interesting for me. There was a massive throw on its cyclic and collective I never used it. At not one point did my hand leave its resting point on my leg for cyclic control..... not once. 80 knots or zero knots that cyclic stayed within the movements of my fingers alone, perhaps a slight rotation of movement around the base of my palm on its resting point on my leg.... I concentrated on finger tip control from the get go and I maintained it too. I hated the look of the R22 cyclic but it is instantaneously adjustable for height and very responsive... great design. The collective is slightly stiff but smooth to change, It resists your change but is smooth and somewhat easy. If you power up the collective fast, it really resists that fast change.... it is harder work but can be done. it changes resistance by the speed in which you change collective and it does this by simply limiting the flow of liquid through a certain sized hole. If you look at all other choppers in DCS they all have a resistance to change programmed into the collective, whip up your gaming collective instantaneously and watch the in game collective stick slowly increase.... lagging well behind your friction free gaming input. I hope we will have this in the OH-58D. Looking forward to he OH-58D!

As a virtual chopper pilot, I would have no opposition to your request. The harder our job the better.

buy the reverb G2, it takes care of its own power supply... as it should be.

Has Deka decided yet? What's their next module?
Rogue Trooper replied to J-20's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
A chopper would sit right with me. The Kamov designed CAIC Z-10 t or WZ-10 would put these fellas on the map. -
yeah, I think it should work out about right. I do love the separate power supply mind... I like it alot! I think it is a statement of intent.

Anyone planning on getting the 3090 for VR?
Rogue Trooper replied to kevman's topic in Virtual Reality
I agree. waiting is the best option for me. I have a feeling that the new 30XX cards may have something to offer me with my incoming G2. I think there may be something special here as time passes. -
We should always be aware of hype around VR devices. The power required to drive 2 high resolution monitors is hard work and unless you have the hardware to push such information at average frame rates then you should be cautious. But... Damn I am looking forward to this headset!

looking forward to blinding light in these bad boys... or should I say hoping.

Kiowa practice, use Huey or Balck Shark?
Rogue Trooper replied to gdotts's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
Check the instruments on the dash guys. what is your read out there? Are you concerned about the throw of your gaming throttle or the actual in game power/torque readings? does your gaming stick at 40% movement equate to what your gauges tell you? In real life is there more movement in the cyclic and collective than you will actual use in normal flight? -
Door removal is must. Why would you want to remove the Mast Mounted Sight?

Since the G1, I have been gagging to go back to my Asus Essence amplifier and Sennheiser momentum headphones. I very much doubt that these new headphones will be better. Upon delivery I will enjoy the upgrade that the G2 offers but power, detail, leading edge cut and depth will call me back to Asus Essence amplifier and Sennheiser momentum in the near future.

I like the new power plug requirement.

Like an alignment of the planets. Something is around the corner and it is a US driven thing, something that is in small comments from big players. I have a funny feeling in my waters. Probably will make no difference in DCS though.

The Apache basically has the AK-47 of the 30mm Kannons. It will do very nicely..... the others will just do it better. But those yanks know ballistics, its in their blood, how that Kannon behaves as an off axis defensive weapon maybe really cool. A DCS Apache AH-64A will learn us that.

With only 4 choppers in DCS.... it is easy to remember.

DCS Mi-8 is 7 years now, time for an update ?
Rogue Trooper replied to Hueyman's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
cosmetic is all that is required with this girl, multicrew also perhaps. It was done top notch in the beginning and upgraded over years to where this superb module stands now. I never find anything to moan about with this module... Belsimtek at their very best. -
Open back doors configuration?
Rogue Trooper replied to pepin1234's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
It would be cool if they did disembark quicker. It would be even cooler if Spec ops vacated the machine instantaneously upon landing. -
Easily going to be a Christmas release... easily.

Kiowa practice, use Huey or Balck Shark?
Rogue Trooper replied to gdotts's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
Yes they are very different. The earlier OH-58s that use the same teetering rotor as the huey is more like a road vehicle that has soft suspension. There is more lag in the controller input due to the inertia in the airframe swinging below the rotors. no hydraulics will remove this. The 4 rotors of the OH-58D offers better bite and control of not only the air but also better control of the air frame below it. Apart from civilian airframes where the dual blade teetering rotor is cheap and preferable, you will never see this design again in professional/military choppers.... unless WW III occurs -
Yeah I think this is the way to go for now. I am pretty sure the G2 will run exactly like the G1 when it comes to FPS, so I have no problems with this. I would need to see at least a 5 - 8 fps gain in DCS with the 30XX cards before I start to get restless. 10 fps gain would get my attention pretty quick mind.... A 10 fps gain would be superb with my current graphics settings and system settings. It would give me shadows on Caucuses, The Straights of, and Nevada. the other maps will be a gain in performance with no visual gain.

Same here regarding the delivery Email. Has anyone in the UK or globally, been offered the 3 year warranty package guaranteeing the sending out of a new headset before you send your old headset back (broken or just not right)? If you did receive such an email.... did you decide to take the additional cover? I hate these extended warranty things but this is the first time I have bought something without reading "proper" user reviews first. I am somewhat tempted for the first time in my life, without doubt the G2 will be upgraded well before 3 years is up! Should I just rely on good old European consumer rights?

Right Rudder Pedal Authority
Rogue Trooper replied to Rabies's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
perfectly explained. Personally, I prefer only the pitch AP on my MI-8. I only activate the others if I gain altitude and fly long range. It should be noted that the yaw AP physically holds the pedals in its current state until a trim reset is activated. Activating the pedals by physically moving them does not reset this AP idea of centre which bears no resemblance to hardware pedal centre. -
G2 inbound, rolling in from the east... 5 by 5. ETA....errrrrrr.... ZZZTTT!

Just a funny feeling in my waters is all I can add.
