  1. I miss this server...
  2. Doesn't work in VR. You're going to have to put the effort in and turn around like you would in real life.

This doesn't solve the problem for people who don't necessarily want to interact with an LHA but still want to participate in servers where one is present.

While I will definitely buy the LHA, what does this mean for multiplayer servers? Sure, many will love to use it in MP and I'm sure there will be servers willing to run missions with it. But what about the players who just want to join to shoot down some harriers or sink an LHA? I can't invision them buying it just for that, yet we also need enemy players.
  5. You're that guy  Good luck getting an answer...
  6. Wow I'm loving these regular updates. Looks like your'e going to have a killer module on your hands. I think I'm almost looking forward this more than the F/A-18.
  7. Or just alt-enter and go full screen. Legend has it that it also helps with performance.

    Hellcat or Corsair?

Is a PTO map really abandoned completely or just going to be on hold for a very long time?
  9. If it really does work like that it would certainly be something I've been waiting for. In guess we'll have to wait and see :)
  10. I'd just like to say how much I appreciate this server. It's the very best server to fly the Mig-21, F-5 and the Viggen and I'm always dissappointed when it's not up. It's no fun flying a Mig against F-15s only to be downed by an AIM-120 just minutes after take-off. I look forward to all the bugs being ironed out and the server being reset automatically.
  11. Correct me if I'm wrong, but judging from the video these look pretty useless. I'm certainly not going to fly in DCS using just my hands. I'm sure we can all agree that a HOTAS is a much better and more realistic solution for that. What most of us will want VR gloves for is to interact with the cockpit switches and dials. These gloves don't seem to offer that however. The guy in the video is using the DCS VR mouse look feature and is merely activating the switches with a finger movement the glove. Good VR gloves for DCS would need to allow hand movement independent of head movement and HOTAS controls.
  12. This thread (and the poll) was started some time ago, but I posted here rather than to open a completely new thread. I agree that this should certainly not be something that cuts into the development of more fundamental features. As to the other replies... I am aware of the radio comms options out there. Even IF SRS works perfectly, it's still something you need to install separately. Since radios are an integral part of flying an aircraft a native solution makes absolute sense. The aircraft has radios, why shouldn't they work? Not everyone flies in squadrons with everyone running the same software. A native voice function would mean everyone playing online can talk to each other. Do you guys really think a public server with everyone running 3rd party software is a viable and practicable option?
  13. Is there a way to prevent my virtual head from poking through the canopy?
  14. Any chance we can get the server restarted for some Sunday evening action? :) It's the dead of night with no AWACS right now. Not much happening.
  15. Sorry to dig this up, but I think this is an important issue. Native voice comms is standard in many games and I don't see why DCS should be any different. Having the voice comms working on the correct frequencies would be extra awesome. I know there are third party apps that do this, but they take alot of setting up and are notoriously finicky. Plus everyone using the software needs to be on the same standard. This is only an option for established squadrons. Imagine how native voice comms would revolutionise online play. Complete strangers could start talking to each other and actually coordinate attacks and actually try and achieve the mission goals rather than going lone wolf as it is often the case now. This isn't just a nice to have, but an important step to achieving full realism.
  16. If you want a general Target profile that lets you assign most of the missing throttle functions as normal buttons, I have uploaded it below. It will also work for the flaps and boat switch among others. https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=158183&d=1488313130
  17. Good luck! I trust that the aircraft are in good hands, both on the Leatherneck and the Heatblur side :)
  18. Good luck guys! I hope that you can maintain this level of professionalism and that the best will come out of it for all involved.
  19. I totally agree that the assets deserve to be paid for, as they represent significant development efforts. They're not just scenery but also contain controllable vehicles for combined arms. Still, I find it a shame that these assets are separate from the map. My worry is, that this could lead to increasing incompatibility in multiplayer and more complexity in terms of prerequisites for campaigns etc.
  20. I've attached the target profile for the Warthog throttle with assignable 3-way switches. Works for flaps, boat switch, lights and auto-pilot mode. ENG OPER switches aren't assigned. Assignable Throttle Buttons.rar
  21. So what's the point of adjusting wingspan and range at all? I also find leading a turning target almost impossible as you need to let the target disappear below the nose to hit it.
  22. I've made a generic Target profile that activates ALMOST all of the 3 position switches on the Warthog throttle. I programmed the throttle only, in order to have as many DX buttons as possible available to map. The stick remains a separate device. There's not quite enough DX buttons for all of the throttle buttons, but I could cover most of them, including the boat switch. Long story short, you can then map the throttle buttons in game, including middle positions, as normal controller buttons. If you can wait, I'll upload it tonight.
  23. Your specs look fine. That's actually good rig, not that much less than mine.
  24. When I started this thread, this was my main consideration. Is there something new on the horizon? After doing a bit of research, it seems that in all likelihood we're not going to see a new Rift or Vive in 2017. I don't know... maybe we'll be surprised by another manufacturer? The main issue though is a matter of computer hardware. The current generation headsets are already very demanding. Even with a very good system you still have to turn down settings in DCS World in order to run VR smoothly. An 8k headset won't do us much good right now.
