Every little bit helps. It's about how fast you can utilize the channel so other people and packets can use the RF. So eliminate the "compatibility"mode and only use the latest supported by your phones/PCs. At this point, almost all devices should support N at the least. But don't enable b since no one should be using it. Unless you have a kid who wants to use the 10 year old Nintendo DS :D Try to pick a quite time (late night, early morning) and do some speed tests with various settings. It's never perfect because there is the "Internet" but you can certainly try uploading and downloading files locally using a modern browser. Also, get something like Wifi Analzyer on Android or other myriad of free wifi scanners on your PC/Mac. Look for the least utilized channel and go with that. Or better yet, if you can, only use the 5GHz channel. Assuming distance is not an issue. Finally, the speeds associated with the 802.11 standards are the theoretical maximum. So you never hit 10Mbps with 802.11b for example. It's like those handheld radios you can buy. Rated for 40 Miles. And in reality, you're lucky if you get 1/4 of a mile! LOL

Wags confirmed it's not in. But I'm sure there are other general improvements.

No but it doesn't paint you in a great light either. Do you have ANY idea how much effort goes into build engines like Jenkins/Bamboo or home grown systems? Hell it takes a *team* of people to create auto regression testing even with auto builds. To say that ED should change the internal system *JUST* to accommodate a patch from one 3rd party or another is insane. Think it through. What happens next? A patch every day because Dora has a patch it wants to push? And Heatblur the next? And Gazelle the next? There is the ENGINE of DCS, and others feed into it. So the system has to be able to cope with it. My god, you people act and sound like the most spoiled brats on earth. It's just a delay in a GAME. No one is going to die, no one is going to suffer because a new feature is delayed. I want my VR patches too, but I'm a grown up so I can deal with bumps in the road. Be like a grown up for godsakes. It's a good thing I don't work for ED because I would have yanked all your licenses and refunded you. With an email that reads, "You want Hornet? Come Back! ONE YEAR" PS: I have to believe some folks in ED were tempted to do the above.....LOL

No, it's not bad at all, Wifi that is. But if you're (not you Bitmaster, just people in general) one of those who obsess about ping times to the server, wifi will add latency. And you are at the mercy of your neighbors who decide to use the wide/40MHz channel setting and stomping on other SSIDs. It matters because it's a shared medium and how fast you get on and off the channel is really important. And also because the same people will have left the default (802.11b/g/n) mode further slowing it down for everyone. Like this guys!!! :D

Beer. We would offer up beer. Or Macallan. I'm sure they don't have Macallan. Who would say no to a good bottle of Macallan.

There's very little you can do that will matter. No one who uses DCS for even remotely competitive games should use wifi. Which you aren't. And once you're over the BW threshold, latency will become the bottleneck. Again, assuming your serialization delay has been addressed with faster connections. So it's awesome that you're building your own, and it can be as easy as linux with ipchains or full blown like yours. But it won't make a material difference because of latency. Again, it's a function of what ISP service you've subscribed to. Of course I'm assuming you weren't starting with 6 year old home router. And it certainly looks better than anything on the market, that's for sure!

Yeah, I agree. Even if you're going to keep the current rig for a while, go get some SSDs. There is *ZERO* reason now to hang on to HDD. And you can take it with you when you upgrade.

I used the clips for ID badges. I clip the, well, the clip on my shoulder and the cable hangs off of it. It wasn't just for comfort, it was a strain relief for the cable to the HMD.

Or because of the issues with the 2.5.5 branch, they changed the release notes. And the optimization made it in after the rebuild.

What was that line from Mars Attack (great movie, LOL) When asked "why would such an advanced people attack us?" And the person replied "How bad do you feel when you step on some ants?" Gulp. LOL

Not sure where there would be a difference between training and campaign mission landings. Other than weight difference. Also, you can speed up the time in DCS. I just don't recall what key that is off the top of my head. Maybe that'll help?

Yeah, Sold out on HP's website. But shopblt.com has incoming stock (200+) that you can pre-order. My stock is part of the June 12th delivery, so I should have mine on the 13th/14th. Yeah, I ponied up for the overnight delivery because I don't want have it slip on ground delivery and can't play with it until the weekend of June 22nd. PS: It is the Pro version. The ones that shopblt are selling.

I cannot wait for the shipping notice from ShopBLT! I too am in the June 12th shipping crowd (I own you @naruto!)

I would agree that P5K+ requires more tinkering to get it running than Rift. It's a KS project and it's still not 100% fully baked. I compare it to when DK2 was problematic at times. But I gave away my CV1 because I couldn't handle the smaller FoV. So for me, it made a huge impact.

Yeah, at some point, ED made it so that if you download the modules, it maps things automatically to the TM WH. I imagine it's true for other popular HOTAs. I didn't test the MFDs yet, but when it first came out, the OSB and physical buttons didn't line up. For example Cougar OSB16 --> Hornet PB1, Cougar OSB17 --> Hornet PB2, etc... So if the bug is still there, be aware.

My Reverb hasn't shipped so I'm good. For all we know, some Bamboo/Jenkins job failed. Won't be the first time it delayed a release. And as someone posted earlier....it is just a game. It's not like we're talking about an SAP upgrade! :)
-
I *highly* doubt that will be the case.

My guess would have been that your new PC has BIOS set to boot UEFI. And the Old PC had the BIOS set to MBR. But glad you got your data out.

You can create a batch file that launches raygun then DCS. Or you can just have raygun start as part of the startup.
-
LOL. It's fine. Other have asked via email too. We'll just have to see what's next, won't we!? :)
-
Click on start, then just type the word. There will not be a place to type it. Just type it. Or do the WINDOWS-key and R (windows key, then R key) option.
-
Well, the Pro version (not sure about the consumer) already sold out and said it was going to ship next week. Other vendors like Shopblt also list June 10th - 20th as the shipping date.

Really? I found the message a bit confusing. Let me sum up and correct me if you think I got the OP's message wrong: I bought early access with no promised finish line and now I'm complaining because *my* timeline expectation was about year and ED hasn't finished it according to my table stakes requirement and timeline. But I love DCS and understand how complicated it can be. What I will *NEVER* understand are the constant "release it even if it's not ready, I just want to enjoy it" rants followed by "why won't you finish it, I'll never buy another early access' Pick one or the other. They are mutually exclusive choices. You CANNOT buy into early access and complain about things not being finished. If the Hornet goes GA, and there are features you want that's not there, DON'T buy it. Isn't it that simple? I honestly do not know how ED/DCS staff keep it together.

Click on START. Type the word "control" but w/o the quotes. and you should see Control Panel App. single click on it Single Click on System and Security Scroll down and single click on Administrative Tools Then *double* click on Computer Management Click on Device Management *under* Storage *OR* If the above isn't working. Hit the WINDOWS key and R. When you see the RUN dialog (OPEN), type in diskmgmt.msc and hit enter. That will be the same as doing the steps above. And you can paste the picture so we can see it. I have some theories, but would like to see the output of the above.

Tell it not to format it. Not sure why Win10 is asking you to reformat it. Can you take a screenshot or give us the exact error message? Make sure you have Win10/SSD as the boot device device.
