I was about to add the Bf109 to my collection, but it's not on sale any more, certainly didn't last for the three days advertised.

So, does the message on the News page refer to release 2 of 1.2.7 beta?
-
DCS 1.2.7 Released according to http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/ Says it's released, but I'm not getting any auto update, and the download page still says 1.2.6. Guess I'll have to wait and see if it's out later today!

Over the years, I've spent thousands on new PC's, joysticks, rudders and TrackIR's all with playing ED products as the driving motivation. Paying $50 for a module that gives so much return in terms of hours of study and gameplay is almost insignificant. I fully support ED and they are masters of our niche genre, they set the standard and I have no problems with paying what they deem is worthy of reward for all their hard work and continued support to our community. I just wish I could devote more of my time to fully appreciate what they give us. I will continue to purchase all their modules, knowing it will lead to greater releases. I've been a huge fan since the days of Flanker, I've invested thousands of hours of study, and had countless "wow" moments as a reward. Maybe people should ask themselves what they would be doing if we didn't have ED almost giving away these high quality products that give hours of entertainment and a sense of achievement that very few other products come anywhere near reproducing.

FC3 DCS has stopped responding in win 7 after mission end
andyfoot replied to emenance's topic in Game Crash
I've had it crash a couple of times with F15 instant action mission as well. -
I'm having similar issues, gentle touch down in F15 and Landing Gear collapsing on me.

Got my updater working after numerous failed attempts, one with the hash mismatch, the others with server cannot handle my request, please try later. I just kept on trying and finally it seems to be working, albeit slow.

Lost keyboard/joystick settings... Made HTML :-(...
andyfoot replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Just happened to me as well, really annoying as had just re-installed and spent hours re-programming all my different aircraft (have A10C, K50, P51, FC3) so not at all impressed. -
You can also Alt-Tab out and back into the game, then you should have your mouse working again with the options available and not greyed out. It's an issue related to the Disable Aero option.

Cropped manuals for eReaders & Tablets available here.

Thank you, much appreciated. -
Disabling the Aero Option (un-ticked) has got my mouse working correctly again.
-
Disable Aero option may be the cause of this. Other posts are pointing in this direction, try un-ticking this option

Been having the same mouse problems, thought it was just me as no one else had reported it. Thanks for the solution, will try it today.

As the title says, I've missed R-Alt J (jump into selected aircraft cockpit) and was hoping it would come back one day. The times I've nearly finished a mission, got my a**e handed to me by some SAM/AAA and had a perfectly good Wingman go to waste by either getting himself shot up or just not finishing a mission. Not accurate to RL I know, but neither is a dumb-ass wingman. Once again, I thank you! Wonder if this'll be ported over so you can jump from A10-C to Ka-50 to P51 etc all in the same mission? That'd be awesome. Only tried it from P51 to P51 so far. Am only just getting back into the cockpit, having just gone through redundancy/getting new job/moving house for the last 7 months - so got a lot of "fixes" to catch up on. Hardly had any time with all my courses and job hunting, now I'm spoilt for choice with A10-C, BS2, Su-25T and the P51. I've really missed "plinking", but I'm back in the seat (well, for every 3 out of 5 weeks at least). Keep up the excellent work, I'm never disappointed by any of your products and I'm fully committed to supporting everything you produce. Going to watch Red Tails tonight, pretty good timing with the release of P51.

Well done, yet another outstanding tutorial, thank you. Every time I watch one of your videos, I learn something new, please keep them coming.

Supersheep, thanks for posting the link. I did look but couldn't find it myself. Great read.

As for how realistic is it? There is an interview with Wags (ED Producer) where they ask him the same question, he told them he had an opportunity to use the US Air Force Full Cockpit Simulator. Without any instruction, he got into a fully shut down cockpit, flashed it all up, got permission, taxi'd to runway, took off, navigated to target, destroyed target, flew back, landed and shut down. It's an awesome read, not sure where the link is, but I always use that as an example when people ask me how realistic it is.

After you take off, you have to manually retract your flaps. If you don't, they automatically retract (safety mechanism) as you increase speed (think it's around 195 - 200Kts, but not sure). Once your speed drops below that point again, your flaps will automatically extend again as the safety mechanism is reset and you still have your flaps set to extend. The point is, that you should not rely on them automatically retracting/extending - that's a safety feature saving your Hog from damage because you are not using/forgot to use the correct procedure. You are causing your problem by trying to use flaps for a situation they are not designed or intended for.

I also use the TM Warthog, although I haven't had much chance to fly, from what I have experienced, the TMW is suited for BS2 no problem. I use rudder pedals, so haven't mapped rudder to joystick. I would strongly recommend you invest in rudder pedals yourself, once you've flown without them, you'll never go back.
-
If I experience any problems, I'll report back, but I have limited time available at the mo, so not getting many flying hours in.

Mine transferred automatically. I uninstalled 1109 from the "All Programs/Eagle Dynamics/Uninstall" link, didn't delete any other files/folders, then did a full install of 1110. All my previous settings and logs remained intact. I did make a copy of C:\Users\Andy\Saved Games\DCS Warthog just to be on the safe side, but haven't had to use it.

Cannot map Master Caution Accept/Reset button
andyfoot replied to andyfoot's topic in Bugs and Problems
I was hoping to not have to use the TARGET software, haven't delved into it yet. It definitely looks like it is a bug as nomdeplume has the same issue. Nomdeplume, ref your Shkval zoom issue, you've probably seen it already, but have you looked at this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=81042 The Burst length, I also left to the default which is the Flaps selector on my Warthog Throttle, works fine and I'm quite happy to leave it there. -
Cannot map Master Caution Accept/Reset button
andyfoot replied to andyfoot's topic in Bugs and Problems
Using the default. I haven't played BS1 for some time, and only recently got the Warthog HOTAS so haven't got round to mapping it in BS1. When you pressed the button in the Options menu, was it taking you to the relevant command and highlighting it? Pressing the "m" button on my keyboard does work fine, both in the Options menu, and in-game -
Not wanting to insult your intelligence, but you are assigning the Collective aren't you? Not the Throttle? It was a mistake I made when I very first installed BS1, and I know other people made the same mistake who were new to BS. Also, just read in another thread that people are finding they have to move the relevant axis in both directions to be fully recognised and accepted in BS2. Try deleting the assignment, then re-assign and move the axis in both directions the full range several times.
