The HUD will drift according to wind direction and force when you are flying straight. You would need to lock the HUD for it to remain centered all the time.

A shame DCS isn't deductible as a "medical" expense. :)

Not necessarily.

Yup lots of bluish colour indeed, I have missions in rain, snow foggy and it is bluish. Also, the snow sweeping across the airfield looks better without DS on. It resembles a snowstorm much better without DS on.

Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle issue
Davee replied to pocketedition's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I had the same throttle issue as you - throttles and the right side slider jumped to full. I found that it is not a throttle issue but rather a W10 issue wherein it keeps track of every device plugged into your USB ports. I don't know enough about this but here is how I corrected it. Get a copy of USBDeview (free) search the web for it. A great tool to show all your USB ports. It shows what has been connected, links to the registry files and other things. Then I deleted ALL the records of the USB ports that showed devices I had connected to that were not used anymore - keeping those I recognized as current. I particularly deleted the USB's that showed my WH connections. I particularly deleted the information on USB ports where it showed the same item (throttle for instance) that had been installed on different USB ports over time. Seems old W10 has some issues here or . . . my "fix-it" tools are too aggressive in removing valuable info in the registry. Don't worry. The moment you reconnect a device to a USB port it will rebuild that information. I also re-installed the WH drivers, and re-installed firmware and any updates including re-installing Target software and re-calibrated the throttle with TM's throtle calibration tools (important). I probably did not really have to install Target but I did anyway. Follow TM's bouncing ball on rebooting and plugging in your TM stuff. And . . . . . . voila . . . . . . you are good to go. I have not had an issue for the last week. Hope this helps. Cheers -
Input device TrackIr unplugged/plugged
Davee replied to Scoll's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs
This program is the solution. I've used it for years - but, I use it as follows: Select the USB port you want to prevent from disconnecting by W10 - Right click on it and select "Open in Regedit" - double click on highlighted selection - single click on "Device Parameters" - Look on the right side for REG_DWORD "EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled - Double click on it - Change the number from "1" to "0" (zero) - click OK. If it is already "0", then needless to say no changes are required on that one. Rince and repeat. Restart your PC and from then on the USB port will not go into sleep mode and disconnect. By the way, my understanding of the reason that it goes into sleep mode is because W10 for some reason, does't detect it being used even though you are working your stick, throttle, rudder and trackIR. -
Studying the effects of affect and effect is an affectation. :) :smartass:

Two TM Throttles headed for the Dump
Davee replied to Davee's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Oh my! Very Nice. My WH throttle just stopped with the left and right throttle response and also the wheel on the right. All buttons work. Buttons on the base and buttons on the throttles work fine. I see that the throttles connect to the digital board so I'm beginning to think that the board is the problem. Quite often, when sitting down, I will generate a spark when I touch the metal base. I think this has always been an issue with TM. I've flashed, redownloaded latest installers and Target. On the W10 Game Controler Settings, the throttles and the wheel just "Jump" to the closed position instead of move at the rate of the physical throttle or wheel. No broken cables, no loose connections everything appears normal physically. Strange for three sensors to fail so it all points to the board. I'd like to find an old board and substitute it rather than go through TM. Any ideas very welcome. -
Two TM Throttles headed for the Dump
Davee replied to Davee's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for the tip. I'll check into it. And I totally agree with you! I've in general had reasonable wear from both the Cougar and WH but now with Motherboard changes I can't even flash the Cougar and the WH analogue only axis died but all the buttons work. Just finally after continual headaches working with them continually -2 Cougar sets plus WH with several failures that cost me as much for mailing during warranty as the price for a new CH setup. -
Yup, Totally fed up with TM failures. Ditching my old Cougar Throttle and my WH Throttle. Worst expensive SIM items I have ever bought. Worst customer service experienced in terms of time and cost and updating of legacy software. That's the word for TM SIM HOTAS - legacy outdated gear! Now I need to find a temp throttle to hold me until the VKB throttle system arrives on the scene. Vent off - letting go big grin on. :)

Perhaps you mean: Steep? :)

All are connected to the same board. No signs of burns - all wires and connections are undamaged. I have re-flashed the firmware with no resultant change. It is strange indeed. But - I find TM products susceptible to static discharge and have had a few happen recently.
-
Yes, all three at the same time. All analogue. I have had it open and checked for wire damage and it all looks clean. So I suspect the board. I may as well contact TM support but I've never had real faith in them. I'll also check out any user forums in case someone has come across this. Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Guys, All the buttons on my WH Throttle work except the two throttle sliders and the slider on the right side. It looks like a board issue to me as all three only show activity when going through the full forward notches and then it is a sudden jump. Stumped. Any ideas helpful. Thanks.

But 1.5 will upgrade to 2.5 beta. I'd delete the current 2.2 as it will not be used. Release 2.5 is a clean new install. So I would delete 2.2.

Thrustmaster Warthog Unit down
Davee replied to SkateZilla's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Strange! When mine was in warranty, they wanted that. I could accept that then (expensive because of the weight). A few years later my main board went and going through the contact hoops they just sent me a new one and charged me accordingly. Still an outrageous price but a lot cheaper than the shipping for the whole 900 lb item to France. Strange they should be asking for the complete unit back. -

Thanks Guys, Looking at the options made me recall a box of Cougar Joystick parts I had. I found the main board and voila, linked the throttle to it and connected to the computer. Hardest part was getting the correct driver which I eventually did and all works great. Thanks again for the feedback, Cats . . . .

Hi Guys, Does anyone know if a TM Cougar throttle can be converted to a USB connection and directly connected to the computer? I have a left-over throttle in good working order and cannot connect it due to the old 8 pin? connector and I don't have the original cougar stick base that the throttle connected to nor an old game peripheral card. (Who remembers those?) :) Any advice much appreciated. Cheers,
-
I could really use the VKB throttle now as my TM Throttle just went "tits-up" and I don't intend to spend $100 on a new main board. Beta tester available here!! :)

Thrustmaster Warthog Unit down
Davee replied to SkateZilla's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
My throttle just bricked - second time in 7 years. All buttons work except the two throttles and slider will not work except when you get to the end of the throw and then they jump to max numbers. All physical connections good. Re-flashed, USB's checked and ensured not on timeout. I just installed my new MCG-PRO stick last week and was running it with the throttle in DCS. (not TM combined) I really don't want to have to spend another $100 CDN at this time because I'm hoping that VKB get their throttle assy. out and running fairly quickly. -
Hi Pedro, Are you the Pedro from 5EVC? Cheers, Cats . . . .

My apologies, I actually deleted that post but some must have gotten through. I am in error, Trigger 1 and trigger 2 are working as designed. The error is mine by selecting the wrong command in DCS M2k. It works just fine in VKB_JoyTester and in the SIM. Apologies: Cats . . . .
