  1. A10C kc 001 It spawned in the air where as another player was 002 and he started cold in a hanger. If it's still up i'll be back in shortly.
  2. had a chuckle to myself when I touched the tanker boom. Received a Kamakaze warning.
  3. Superb explanation ENO Exactly what I was looking for. cheers guys
  4. Thanks Shrek. I think it was ENO from the firehouse server who was asking about patrols following the same waypoints but I can't find the post in the advanced search. Option 3 is a good point which I have tried. It does work with activating and deactivating which is basically what I wanted to see happen. I can't for the life of me find an easy way or setting it like a continuous trigger so that it can be done with 1 aircraft. Pity there is no "proceed to waypoint" and then set it as the starting waypoint for it to continue off from the start again I found this for ground vehicles using MIST and a script created by grimes. I might give this a shot and see how it goes with choppers http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=107603&highlight=unit+patrol&page=3 EDIT: Gave it a shot, no good with choppers. Works to a point, chopper was flying between waypoint 2 & 3, waypoint 1 was set as advanced action to land. s
  5. I am trying to figure out how I would have a helicopter take off, fly to a waypoint and land, then take off and fly back to it's starting point. I have used the land option in the advanced waypoint option and it works and flies off to it's original waypoint. How can I set it so that the choppper flies the same pattern until it runs out of fuel and crashes. This is to simulate picking up cargo and flying it out to a ship. Using it so the base doesn't look empty during the mission start up and return to re arm and refuel
  6. I read this as mack truck. First though was "well that is possible considering the speeds being mentioned and if it flew past me at 50 feet at 700kms it would feel like a mack truck just blew past me
  7. Spruce Goose would be great fun "After picking up speed on the channel facing Cabrillo Beach, the Hercules lifted off, remaining airborne at 70 ft (21 m) off the water and a speed of 135 miles per hour (217 km/h) for around a mile (1.6 km)" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hughes_H-4_Hercules Good to see it got of the water and was classified as airworthy shortly after. or in modern times Alenia Aermacchi M-311 Nice sleek looking trainer
  8. Anyone had luck getting this to work in 1.2.7? It doesn't work for me. Helo's yes fixed wing no EDIT: Just found this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1956014 apologies for not using advanced search
  9. anyone have an estimation of cost for Nevada on release?
  10. I've had a few goes at trying to break them all in 1 swift sweep across the screen. Still have not been able to do it so far.
  11. set about 17-20% deadzone for the X axis. This also helps and the joystick is more fluid on inputs. This also helps when trying to keep it steady
  12. I completely agree. I have a bog stock GTX560 and I am not gong out and upgrading a card when there is no games out there on the market that requires me to upgrade. My monitor has a refresh rate of 60HZ so I doubt a GTX780 is going to make much of a difference to what I am getting now. BF3 & BF4 run fine as does Crysis 3 and other games that are heavy on the video performance. wow I am going to get lots more FPS with a better card but on a 60hz monitor I can't see the difference. If I am using FRAPS "ALL" the time then yes I might consider an upgrade but DCS in it's current and future form won't require me to upgrade any time soon. If the render radius was 150000M and it had buildings like in BF3 and terrain like Arma 3 or BF3 then yes, maybe I might need to upgrade. Especially if the buildings blew to pieces like BF3 or had something like blastcore visuals. I get 60FPS now in DCS so with EDGE I expect a drop of 5FPS at an altitude of 15000-20000ft which is where I spend most of my time
  13. 1.1.0 is almost biblical times
  14. Cheers, I have just done that now. I posted it here as there is no sub forum for the mission editor in 1.2.7 and a previous bug regarding the mission editor in 1.2.7 was allowed in this sub forum. This can be removed by a moderator if they wish
  15. No you do not need to buy them again. Open the module manager and press the tab "installed". You will need to install them all again and set up the controls once this is finished. You also do not need to de-activate them from 1.2.6. You can open 1.2.7 open Beta or you can run DCS world 1.2.6 as you will have 2 choices. MP Servers running 1.2.6 do not show up in 1.2.7 but other than that. I have not really noticed anything other than what is in the official updates
  16. I have an issue with the F4 Phantom in 1.2.7 which I am not able to reproduce in 1.2.6 I have used the same mission way points and set 2 phantoms to follow a B-52 over the base. Just past the base is a lake and I think the jet on the right side has an issue figuring out how to climb over the mountain in 1.2.7 I have loaded the same test mission in 1.2.6 with out changing anything and it works fine after many attempts to reproduce the problem. It is definitely an issue with 1.2.7. The Phanton goes into a nose up climb vertical but does not gain altitude. It continues in formation for a few hundred meters at full afterburner in a vertical climb until it stalls out and crashes engines first into the ground. This is not a major issue for me but I wanted to see how it would look as a low flyby over the base while I am spooling up the engines of the KA-50 https://www.dropbox.com/s/ry9mu9soak43zgi/F-4%20Spiral%201.2.7.trk https://www.dropbox.com/s/jmtgc1t4up5nvr2/F-4%20Spiral%201.2.6 I used drop box as I don't know how to upload mission files on here
  17. My Windows keys works in Windows 8.1 and 7 on my laptop but in game they don't work at all. This is the same as in Arma 3 and at present there is no fix there either. If anyone has a fix for DCS please let me know.
  18. brilliant idea. Love your work mate
  19. Give us an example of the mod you are ranting on about. Who posted the mod? Who sent you a pm regarding the cost of the mod? or if you don't want to name names then describe the mod you are talking about. This is pointless this thread, opening it with people are charging for mods but not saying what mod they are charging you for.....I think this is the true issue here that you feel that you don't need to pay for 3rd party developer addons such as the hawk and huey. This has nothing to do what so ever with mods such as scenery and what not. I recon this is in relation to 3rd party developers working on and releasing aircraft which you claim are "mods" Prove me wrong and say what mod you are on about.
  20. Your problem is solved with this thread here. It's called SL Mod and is found running on ENO's Firehouse, AEF OCB and many other servers http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=80979
  21. I hope the tail warning radar works... Direct quote from the Pilot Training Manual "From the N-5 on, the plane is equipped with a tail warning radar (AN/APS-13)" Regarding the guns Directly quoted from the Pilot Training manual "The maximum load is 500 rounds per gun, but usually with 8 guns only 267 rounds are carried. Find out how many you have before takeoff. The guns can be charged only on the ground to fire." This manual differs to Sithspawns source and I make the assumption that this may be for an earlier model maybe and holds less ammunition. The source that SithSpawn has uploaded the pictures from is also found on the link below to compare the 2 available. It does not mention anything regarding choosing 6 or 8 guns or anything to do with the conservation of ammunition. EDIT: Found this as well from military trials related to the P-47 ARMAMENT CHARACTERISTICS 41. Armament characteristics were reported to be satisfactory by the U.S.A.A.F., and only short check flights were carried out at this Unit. Gun Installation 42. The installation allows for eight .5 guns, all situated in the wings. The guns are fired by electric solenoids operated by a trigger on the front of the control column in the standard American fashion. There is no selector switch for the pilot, to that all guns must be fired together, but there is a safety switch on the port side of the cockpit which is marked distinctively. For operational flying the ammunition capacity is laid down to be 300 rounds per gun, but there is in fact extra room for more ammunition should it be required. Hamonisation 43. All guns can be harmonised very easily. The method for adjusting the guns is the best that has yet been seen at this Unit and consists merely of two controls which can be turned by hand, one for lateral and one for vertical adjustment. The aircraft was received at this Unit with the six guns harmonised to a pattern originally drawn up for the eight guns, which was not considered to be quite adequate. Alternative schemes were therefore suggested to which the guns can be harmonised giving a 1 degree spread either for six or eight guns. Discussions are in progress with VIII Fighter Command, U.S.A.A.F., to agree on a suitable pattern. 22. DCS: Hawk please
  23. I have already fired off an e-mail to 3 of the guys over at A2A. I wanted to see the DCS communities opinion of the phantom that A2A were working on. Would have been pointless if most members thought it heap of junk Awaiting a response from A2A now to see if it would be possible or even if they are willing to accept a proposal on having this aircraft made available to this series in the same way VEAO Coretex and others have done with their aircraft This is a direct quote from A2A's Website: Lastly, with this very high end product line, A2A Simulations opened a budget line “Aircraft Factory” which allows A2A Simulations to release solid quality aircraft that the public wants at a lower price. Yes they are solid quality aircraft, but as these are available in the Microsoft Flight series, hopefully there is chance these guys might also look into the DCS series as a 3rd party developer
  24. UH-60 for me
  25. A2A Simulations F4 Phantom I would like to see these guys design modules for the DCS world series. The F4 Phantom that they have not yet released would be sweet if it was converted to DCS Take a look at the following link http://www.friendlyflusi.at/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=15909 their website can be found here http://www.a2asimulations.com Although currently it looks like they only produce modules for FSX I think with enough support from the community. An e-mail could be fired off to them to review and see if converting this aircraft over to DCS would be viable to them.
