Does DCSW support the PhysX of nVIADIA or the Mantle of AMD?
Winfield_Gold replied to wiseking's topic in Game Performance
This bother's you how? There are many other threads on these forums to make posts that do not reflect the OP let alone the sub forum. I feel we are well within our rights to express our views and ask questions whether DCS World supports 1 card manufacturer over another, especially if some of us spend more time playing DCS than any other sim\game -
There is also a campaign mission for the KA-50 which does the same thing. It is when your external tank is empty in the KA-50. Edit the loadout and fit rockets and you don't have the issue in the deployment mission for the KA-50.

Interesting read this thread. Our news coverage here in Australia has been quite extensive regarding this plane and the many countries operating out of Perth. So far, not 1 piece of plane wreckage has been pulled out of the ocean. I'll add, not 1 piece of confirmed aircraft wreckage has been sighted let alone pulled out of the sea. What has been seen by satellites is confirmed by the aircraft in the air as not plane wreckage. Malaysian officials have most likely came out with last weeks statement regarding the plane crashing into the Indian ocean to give the families some sort of closure. Amazes me how they can make this statement with out any aircraft wreckage being verified. Our news reports have been saying "plane debri sighted" for over a week now but the news stations are only going on what the Malaysian officials have been releasing in their statements. RAAF officials have confirmed that no aircraft debri has been sighted by the planes and ships operating in the area. Our PM is doing the right thing in his press conferences and only going by what the RAAF is telling him not what is being reported by the news and Malaysian Government

Will we get leather seats and upgraded avionics?

Not sure what purpost multicrew would server in a TF-51. You could probably sit at your computer desk, have your misses sit in a chair in front of you and show her a scenic tour of georgia. That my friends is what I call multicrew in a P-51 Will the Cavalier be released with the 2500 mile range?

Does DCSW support the PhysX of nVIADIA or the Mantle of AMD?
Winfield_Gold replied to wiseking's topic in Game Performance
Before I purchased my card, I looked at both manufacturers and spoke to people who only buy NVIDIA or AMD. Physx was designed by NVIDIA for NVIDIA cards. It is a way to market their cards to the broader community. Are NVIDIA cards better than AMD? It is up to the persons personal preference in this regard. If I was to compare what I have now and when EDGE comes out, whether my card supports Physx or not, I am doubtful I will need to upgrade to a card that supports Physx just because it has a Physx logo when game is loading. -
Most successful controllers for A2A refueling
Winfield_Gold replied to Pinefang's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
x-box 360 all the way. Can't afford a Warthog and x-box 360 control is more sensitive than my Attack3. It was much easier to set up to instead of the attack 3 slider throttle -
How can i ad a country to a Coalition in an existing mission?
Winfield_Gold replied to RICARDO's topic in Mission Editor
back in the day before dcs world and in BS1 it could be done with BLINDSPOTS mod. Then after the A-10C release it became tecnical, you had to delete every unit for that coalition and then you could change it with notepad++ like Exorcet has said above. After the release of DCS world, none of the previous ways are possible and now I doubt it can be done. -
This alone deserves credit

I only use the torrents and have never had an issue. Unfortunately I can't answer the first part of the question regarding the mirror sites. Hope the torrent works correctly for you

Black Shark 2 - Deployment Mission 8
Winfield_Gold replied to R1Lawsy's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Half way up, shut down the engines and pump the gas pedal. Turn the key to on and drop the clutch. You need to keep doing keybangs to get the bird over the mountain. The answer to the hinds and how to complete the mission is in the posts in this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1877704#post1877704 -

1.2.8 Open Beta Preliminary Change Log
Winfield_Gold replied to upupandaway's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I'm not an expert on this one but i'll have a crack at it. In the UH-1 Campaign mission 2 when you have to deliver supplies. I have looked at the triggers which are set in this mission and when you start it says (Set internal cargo 500kg) and once you land at the smoke marker and your doors open, it changes to internal cargo 0kg. When you take off and fly back to base, the flight characteristics of the chopper are completely changed. It is much easier to fly. My opinion is that it allows for calculating weight if you transport the new cargo nets which showed up in the ME when 1.2.7 open beta was released. I am thinking we will see the use of the winch in the not to distant future. Or we will be able to transport troops and the trigger allows for weight adjustment. https://www.dropbox.com/s/d489oq4if2u1qhb/Launcher%202014-03-27%2009-59-00-02.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/gexgybnqotnh1wt/Launcher%202014-03-27%2009-58-54-42.jpg -
Spring Sale vs. Bonus System credit
Winfield_Gold replied to VTJS17_Fire's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I paid full price when the MI-8 was released. I was happy with the purchase and when I talked a good friend to purchase it during the sale I was not phased that it was on special when he purchased it. At the time I had not idea I would receive a 75% discount for any future dcs product until several months after the release. Now with the bonus system, I must say that I am more than happy I paid full price for the product. -
True? 1.2.8 is old news, lets focus our attention on 1.2.9 and what it can bring to the table
-
I can't see how 1.2.8 is delaying the release of 3rd party modules. Modules where designed for 1.2.7 and possibly earlier. It is beyond me considering that modules designed with out EDGE are now not compatible until the release of EDGE. EDGE is a graphics engine, it has nothing to do with the coding structure of the aircraft. Not that i'm phased by the delay. Happy to wait a few more years considering I am still waiting for ----'s F14 and F22 from several years ago which once in a blue moon David still fires off an update that he still has not given up on DCS World

Download new version of DCS World and install here http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/dcs_world/ Download latest A-10C and install here http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/modules/dcs_a10c_warthog/ If you have an account already on the dcs website, then inside dcs world, go to module manager and look at the installed modules tab. it should have your old product key if it is linked to the dcs website.

Nevada is coming along quite nice, looking forward to the release.....

What people such as myself need are release notes detailing the difference. I am in no way starting a flame war. I am simply asking for differences that I and many other members are unable to pick up on after comparing the older video's to the photo's. Keep in mind that the video's do not show in cockpit views from aircraft unlike the photos released by wags
-
Indeed it has been stated before...many times. I thought after the video's being posted since wags latest shots of EDGE that this thread was now some kind of "who could find old video's of EDGE from way back when, dust them off to refresh peoples memories that EDGE video's had been discussed in the past" It was my opinion that EDGE has been around for a few years now. Not released to the public but it has had maps exclusively designed for\by 3rd party devs. After reviewing the older video's of EDGE, the only thing I can see that has changed is the sky, clouds and earth horizon. However I am looking forward to the public release of EDGE and hold high hopes that the detail released in past video's such as Corsica for example is also available for the public release. Now back to the photos on topic
-
Similar to this which was released back in 2012 by Belsimtek under the trading name AVIA (I could be wrong regarding Belsimtek. The info was supplied to me a mid last year on another forum). I presume paying developers have had access to EDGE for quite some time. That or it was developed by a 3rd party and DCS has purchased the rights to the Engine 9kxCpW9lDYA FJLMDfBrEDI 8ZZGOZxM-nc

Ranger79 Life Raft Mod
Winfield_Gold replied to Ranger79's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Out of curiosity, is the bloke in the raft able to be extracted say like with this script and putting ai in the raft? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=108523 Be good if when you ejected over water the lift raft spawned underneath you and a huey could lift your raft up. Enjoy your work Ranger and the goodies you share with us here on the forums Edit: answered my own question, yes script works with life raft
