  1. Oh they do. You will find a map case in the cockpit of pretty much all of the aircraft in DCS. They're usually next to the backrest of the ejection seat.
  2. And that's exactly how you can configure it for your missions.
  3. IRL GBU-24 is an entire family of bombs as its laser guidance kit can be attached to a bunch of different warheads, for example: Mk. 84 – 910 kilograms (2,000 lb) General Purpose BLU-109 – 910 kilograms (2,000 lb) Penetrator BLU-116 – Advanced Unitary Penetrator See here for more info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GBU-24_Paveway_III The GBU-24 we have in DCS is the one with the BLU-109 penetrator warhead.
  4. That's why the F10 map can be configured however you want it and in MP this can be set and enforced by the admin.
  5. Yes, you can put marks on the map (orange circles with optional text) during a mission. The problem with these is, that in MP they are synced between all players of your team, thus making it an unrealistic feature, which I personally also often disable for this very reason.
  6. No, I don't think so.
  7. I prefer to have the F10 map set to not showing any units at all, not even your own aircraft. In that configuration I have no issue with using the F10 map, as it basically just serves as a paper map that a pilot can take with him in the cockpit.
  8. That's not possible, as these are two entirely different and seperate systems that are not compatible with each other.
  9. Paveway II: GBU-12, GBU-16, GBU-10 Paveway III: GBU-24
  10. In DCS you can manually command the F-15C's radar to flood mode, which does indeed cause a missile warning on other aircraft's RWRs (and even makes them dispense chaff/flare if they have set their CMS to auto mode). With the F-14 you can't manually command the radar to flood mode. It will activate on its own when conditions are met. Due to this restriction I've never tested if it triggers other aircraft's RWRs, but it should.
  11. GBU-12 = 500 lbs Mk-82 bomb with a Paveway II laser guidance kit added to it GBU-16 = 1000 lbs Mk-83 bomb with a Paveway II laser guidance kit added to it GBU-10 = 2000 lbs Mk-84 bomb with a Paveway II laser guidance kit added to it GBU-24 = 2000 lbs BLU-109 penetrator with a Paveway III laser guidance kit added to it That's how these LGBs are modeled in DCS. IRL there are different subvariants using different warheads, but the ones listed above are what we have in DCS.
  12. This Performing the boresighting procedure on a target that is just 1.3nm away and then actually employing the Mavericks on targets that are probably much further away will produce quite a decent amount of parallax error. To avoid that you should perform the boresighting procedure on a target that is at the same distance that you plan on engaging targets.
  13. Oh, dann hatte ich das falsch verstanden.
  14. I disagree. A server admin should be able to set the same conditions for all players and be able to set them the way the mission is intended to be played. If server admins don't know about the setting then just tell them about it.
  16. You can switch back into the cockpit and the coordinate window stays open, so you can just look at it while typing the coords into your system.
  17. The F-15E was released when there was still the OB with a much more rapid release schedule.
  18. That's quiet odd. There's no reason why this would happen. Can you share a track replay of such a flight where this happens (the shorter the better)? If you have moved away from your initial spawn position you have to update the coordinates on your INS page on the DED within the first two minutes of alignment. Stored heading is only available as long as your aircraft hasn't moved since you spawned in. The only other way to speed this up is by accellerating the simulation time with Ctrl + Z, but that only works in singleplayer of course.
  19. Indeed. Remember that with the merger of the OB and Stable, ED is now planning with an average release schedule of 6 weeks between updates.
  20. Well, that's what chaff is supposed to do. Sparrows are more susceptible to chaff than more modern missiles like the AMRAAM.
  21. IIRC the parking brake requires power on the jet (to power hydraulics?), so make sure your engine is running when trying to engage the parking brake.
  23. Yes, but then the normal thing to do would be a ground alignment, just like you do when you start your flight at the beginning of the mission. This way you get a precise alignment, which is not possible with an IFA alignment.
  24. 1) If GPS is available (meaning mission date is after 1994 and you fly in the same coalition as the USA) then the INS gets never misaligned as it is constantly corrected by GPS 2) No 3) IFA is a bit of an emergency procedure to re-align a failed INS mid-flight which is extremely rarely used IRL as it only offers very poor alignment quality. In DCS there is not really any use for this ever.
