  1. The sensors are for tracking the Rift's position in space. DCS only needs to see one of them 'cause you will normally be sitting in a fixed position. The second sensor comes into play if you are playing a more active game, moving around your play space. I only use one sensor for my Sim Pit and it sits less than a metre from my head. You should be fine in your cubby hole :)
  2. Interesting and a useful demo to show the effect of PD adjustments. With my RIFT with PD at 1.0 I can read 11. With PD at 1.5 I can read 13. The only flaw of course is that you know what the text reads anyway. A random string of characters would be more appropriate with a 'look up' answer to check your honesty :)
  3. Well, yes, but the text they show is always zoomed in. It would be great to see a DCS cockpit at normal viewing distance with a steady camera. Hopefully one of the Beta testers will enlighten us shortly.
  4. You should get it automatically if you used the Oculus desktop app on Rift between 2/1/18 and 3/8/18
  5. Yep, I needed to reboot after date change to get it working again. Now I've finished Rifting for a while, I changed date back to correct, just in case Windows starts complaining :music_whistling:
  6. When you adjust the IPD in the Rift set up ( the part where you look at a green cross), you will have a readout of the IPD value at the bottom of the screen.
  7. Well the smell of puke would also add to the immersion
  8. I have the vr-lens-eu ones, I'm very pleased with them. Just one point though. I was so excited to try them out, I removed them from their plastic bags, fiddled around trying to fit them because I wasn't sure which was right and left. THEN noticed the bags had R and L written on them:doh: I now have them marked for the rare occasion I need to remove them.
  9. 100+ fps in VR?
  10. Indeed, we're gona have to wait 'til someone from this forum has a try with it.
  11. I have two sensors, but use only one for DCS. It's mounted centrally above the dash of my cockpit, I get perfect tracking for all head movements even extreme 6 checking :)
  12. ..but then presumably you can't turn off ASW with the tray tool?
  13. So is that a button push with the touch controller? If so, isn't there a problem 'hiding' them once you are in DCS?
  14. +1 I had the pleasure of sitting in a Spitfire last year, and it was hard checking 6, and that was without a harness on or flying goggles.
  15. Indeed, they really aren't doing themselves any favours by showing poorly videoed clips through the HMD lenses. They had a video up last week showing a 360 movie on something like bigscreen and the sde was horrid. I commented on it, and it was pulled about 30 minutes later. More useful would be an indication of the fps they are getting with DCS.
  16. Interesting way to try and solve a software problem.
  17. Hmm..just checked my backers page, I have that too.
  18. Hmmm...cordite and aviation fuel maybe?
  19. Just because the 1080ti is 'out of date' doesn't suddenly make it poorer graphics card. As the price goes down with the release of the next generation I will probably upgrade my 980 and enjoy the increased performance. I guess if one is really flush, then buy all the latest kit at a premium price, I can't afford too.
  20. Shutter filters? nah..it's Brain Warp :smilewink:
  21. Properly working VR eye tracking will have to be seen to be believed :music_whistling:
  22. Pimax just posted a DCS video, make of it what you will.
  23. Anyone know if there are any examples of this actually working in the real world ?
  24. It would only be outdated if there was a more up to date alternative available..but there aint.
  25. Sounds like your Rift is losing sight of the sensor. Make sure it is in clear view and you have it the right way round (glossy surface facing the Rift). I know, I got that wrong once!
