  1. I really appreciate all of your testing everyone. I'm sure at some point the aircraft will preform as advertised. I have always felt it was sluggish at altitude for a Mach 2 fighter. Hell, a fully loaded 747 can climb to FL320, and even the Sabre can get to 35k reasonably easily and perform well. I just find it hard to believe that this thing has such a difficult time, especially when loaded. I would have expected this thing could cruise at 40k feet loaded with 4 missiles at military power before I actually flew it. Thanks for the testing.

    Sun visor

Yes I agree. I wish it would fix the sun glare. Could really be useful in that regard. But honestly I find its so dark I won't ever use it. I guess you could argue reducing glare could be an advantage over other fighters. But we are so disadvantaged anyway I don't think anyone would care

    Sun visor

Click in the red circle, and you can lower the helmets sun visor:pilotfly:
  4. I have made that mistake earlier. The detent on the X52 isnt actually full power. Full Mil power is a little past the detent. It has made a slight difference in crusing performace. One thing i noticed is that the EGT gauge seemed to act a little funny at the millpower/ab edge, but it could just be me
  5. Its a confirmed bug
  6. I hate riddles
  7. Arma 3 has better visuals than Arma 2.. And arma 3 runs better than 2 for me. Anything is possible
  8. Thanks Tango for your testing. Before reading this, I noticed that at high altitude, I coudn't maintain airspeed without A/B. For a high performace jet, I just felt this wasn't right. The Sabre, with a less T/W ratio, has much better performance at higher altitudes. Hopefully the Leatherneck team, can fix the FM, so we can keep enjoying our 21
  9. For someone learning to fly the ka50 i recommend them to turn on the FD, with the pitch, roll, yaw channels. This way you have stabilization, but the autopilot wont fight you. Once you are comfortable with it in this stage, now you can turn the fd off. Now the key thing to know is when you hold the trimmer, it flies the same as when the FD is on. The stabilization system is on, but the autopilot wont fight to maintain, pitch, roll, yaw. It is when you release the trim, that you are now telling the autopilot to hold the specific parameters. I hold the trim while maneuvering, and when I have bank, pitch, and yaw i wnat the helicopter to fly at, I will then release the trim button, and the Autopilot will hold those parameters
  10. No. The flight director not only shows the cues on the HUD, but it also turns off the pitch and roll commands, while KEEPING ON the basic stabilization system. Here are a few scenarios: Bank, Pitch, Yaw channels on- NO FD --When you trim, you are commanding the aircraft to hold the specific, pitch and roll angle, and heading degree. The autopilot will do everything it can to hold those specific parameters. If you move the stick, the autopilot will fight you in order to get back to the original parameters you set. Bank, Pitch, Yaw channels on- FD ON --Now when the FD is on, whichever channels you have selected will still have the SAS or short term stability augmentation. Basically the autopilot will no longer try to maintain the parameters you set when you trim, but the autopilot still has the stability system on, which will aid in the control of the helicopter, and keep it from doing random things and oscillations. It will fly similar to the Mi8 with the stability system on in this stage Now when you have ALL channels off --The helicopter is "raw". There is no stability system helping to control the aircraft. This is the hardest to control. THis is similar to flying the Mi8 with the stabilization system turned off.
  11. Not to go too off-topic, but seeing tangos avatar while reading that made me spit my beer out
  12. Are there any other switches that go back to off, after a refuel/rearm. i have only notices the nose cone.
  13. Center fuel tank is controlled by a pinky switch on the control stick.. its hard to find in game, so i just mapped it to my hotas Wing tanks are dropped by the switch with the yellow color. Although i have dropped them using the weapon jettison switches before i know the yellow one existed.
  14. Not really sure what your asking, but there are so many switches, you really need to start it using the cockpit. Hotas just doesn't have nearly enough buttons. Its not like FC3 where you just have electronics and then engine. If you had a custom pit made, then maybe you wouldn't ever have to touch anything in game, but thats few and far betwen
  15. I never knew about the BLC system. That explains to me why it dropped like a brick the second I chopped the throttle. Are there any details on it in the manual. I haven't seen any. If not it may be good to add a short blurb about it because it's very unique and is something new to keep in mind during the landing procedure. Is there anyway to turn it off?
  16. Having lived in a place for a while that had f-18 constantly buzzing around I'd like the sounds to be better. I want everyone to know I'm taking off when I light the afterburner:devil_2:
  17. I have noticed that sometimes you cannot push the recovery button, or press the center tank jettison. You can't click them on the control stick, but the keyboard commands still work
  18. Any chance that the Mig 21 knee boards could show the ground target areas? I'd like to use the kh66 s against ground vehicles and bomb compounds and such :)
  19. Training mission for A/A don't cover any of the for differences between A/A weapons. I know the encyclopedia exists which is probably good for regular DCS weapons, probably A/G. But I'm more curious to see the values that Leatherneck has programmed in for their missiles. One main question I have now is the range difference between the R-13m1 and the r-60m. I know that the r-60 is better with the seeker and G Handling qualities but I'm not sure if it's shorter ranger or not. It may he worth taking the R-13's against slower moving targets if you know you will be behind them, if the r-13 has more kinematic range
  20. Hey all, I was wondering if there is any specific info for each of the different A-A missiles, and A-G bombs. There are many different types, and I don't know how each performs, especially the A/A missiles. Thanks
  21. Well apparently promo copies are out by now. There have been several videos promised as well. And the forums are dead. Hopefully its the calm before the storm, and not that people have lost interest. My only issues is I know it will be released when I start my masters degree program in September. I don't think I'll have much time to fly her.
  22. YoYo, where are you? Need your input and data please :)
  23. From my understanding the W and Zulu are completely different animals. Zulu avionics are much more complex
