  1. I would worry too much about the drivers / shutters going with an AMD and VR. I would go Rift S possibly. I still have the CV1, so I have other VR games I play also with it from time to time that are on the oculus store. Just waiting to see if there is another big leap in VR tech, so I'll just keep my CV1 for now I guess.
  2. Welcome to the forum Reax178 Perhaps post it down in the Input and Output » Thrustmaster thread section. Someone their may have pulled one apart. Edit: Forward to the 2:15 time 1. You have reversed the spring it seems, it should sit and point inward like this. 2. The spring go's around the two poles seen here. Not like this I hope lol.:)

  5. Try rebinding a joystick etc. If you can then DCS is reading from this NEWLY created save games folder. Thats where it's saves them. If the name of this new folder is different you might have to re-setup OVGME and reinstall the mods to activate them etc. You never have to reinstall DCS, it can be copied and pasted to wherever you like. Launch DCS using the links from the bin folder. DCS_Updater.exe Do a repair and clean on the install too.
  6. You must be struggling Demon
  7. DCS Trackir Setup in simulator 12:40 Important to have a zoom in, out and a reset zoom key on your controls. 14:39 I go over Trackir camera and headset positioning, this is very important if you are having trackir tracking problems. New faster multiplayer profile below I speed up the Track ir profile even more here so you can see your monitor easier when looking around and it's less work on turning your head / neck and eye's when looking backwards. Helps for doing long multiplayer sessions.... The trade off is that it is quicker, if you are new to track ir, you may want to slow things down until you adapt to it first, then speed it up some more. Flight Sim Junkie Profile 001, save it to your desktop. Again this is not recommended for getting started with Trackir, it's a very quick moving profile. Start with a slow smoother profile to adapt. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Im5H5HHVZfFNOF9K7z9HSbHiijnfmoq1/view Place in YOUR TrackIR profiles found at...... C:UsersYOURNANEAppDataRoamingNaturalPointTrackIR 5Profiles Reload Trackir and switch to this profile.
  8. Setting up the Free Su-25t with a single joystick and keyboard. I give some ideas here that you can play with using the keyboard and single joystick. I even started out flying the A-10C using a single stick and keyboard. TF-51D Single Joystick Setup Very Basic getup and fly guide It's a little dark and needs redoing
  9. First launch of DCS Quick settings Walkthrough First mission launch (10:30) brand new DCS install Explaining the views in game (12:20) How to set your default view, zoom and save it, showing controls and keyboard (Picture in Picture). (15:02) Also Showing why Track IR is a good thing for sims Finding all the DCS aircraft and sim manuals. Creating window short cuts to them etc (18:00) Other good guides to download Chuck's DCS Tutorial Library Saving Snap views Might do a quick video soon Couldn't say it better myself.

  11. +1 To this I have windows on the 500 GB M.2. Windows is also quite small, around 30 GB. Maybe a bit larger now with all the updates.
  12. Many are just playing around with the idea, sure ED and even the new civi sim 2020, was looking at doing it perhaps at one stage..... It works for iracing tho. That's works I guess in how they have also setup the competitive system and keeps more of the serious players in etc. It generaly would not work in these flight sims. It's not Netflix "Netflix expected to add 5 million subscribers in the second quarter of 2019. It didn’t come close. The streaming video giant only added 2.7 million. " Netflix currently has 151 million paid subscribers worldwide. At say $10 bucks.... That's 1.51 billion with a B US$ A MONTH..... You can make some serious content with that to throw around.
  13. I would try playing around with the settings and see if it helps. Still, with a good systems like you have, you should and it's recommended to get an SSD for it and also half your loading times too.
  14. Did you run a repair and clean before updating? I do this after moving the install generally.
  15. Skill set and team integration. The time it would take getting new coders / engineers up to speed with the new written modular adapted code etc. That would take how long? and how much money. I'm playing around with moose and it is fun, still doing my head in tho lol.... slowly getting there and the concepts behind it. Do you think ED can afford to do this and push forward, at this level of simulation, just with the civi side of sales.
  16. If you move DCS around like I have many times to different PC's you wont have the pretty nice full normal install links and win menu links. Doesn't bother me, all you need to do is launch DCS using the links found in the bin folder of the install or install(s). For me it's. E:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin Make shortcuts from these links below (Right click on them) and send to --> desktop Create shortcut) DCS_updater.exe DCS.exe(Launch without updating) You can copy DCS to as many drivers as you like and have as many version you like. Just redo the links for each.
  17. Time, testing and development buddy:thumbup: Is not that easy doing the latest thing around and the most time consuming development type of software around. Well I haven't use or can think of one piece of software that has and does all DCS can do. DCS is not just pretty photo real Bing maps and sky. There is a lot, I mean a lot more in DCS and still a lot more to do and upgrade. Totally get where your coming from and you have been around for a good while. To me DCS has come along long way the last few years, they have had some setbacks yes and going for another major core update that may delay those other things again. It is what it is when playing at this level and is why no one else is really having ago in this field. Very hard and expensive to do, no real big call of duty dollars and many complain about, well everything.
  18. If we step back a little and see the bigger picture, ED is building a more full-fidelity sim / combat sim across the board. If you want to have these emergency's with a close call missile fragmentation? Or a few bullets here and there, then these connected systems need to be modeled to some good extent. ED is working on new damage / ballistic modeling (Ground and Air eventually) that will account for fragmentation on an electrical system or pneumatic or bleed air system. What will this effect etc. On a business side, this also go's hand in hand with the other business model so ED can still do all this stuff in the first place and why ED holds this niche and can still do this depth of modeling. So, I'm unsure if ED could even pullback here at all, unless you want the damage modeling very very faked? fragmentation hit around here and at this angle, then do this and damage to this system. Instead of, fragmentation went through here and hit this bleed air line / electrical line / computer / radar and set off these faults / chain of faults.
  19. "I’m limited to my 4x4 GB on my old Z87-A mainboard." Not sure what you mean here Atelophobia Looks to me you can go 32 GB DDR3 ( 4 x 8GB ) https://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/Z87A/ I'm still on a 4 core too (The only little benefit is DDR4) Compared to you, way good enough for me with the 1080ti or the 2080ti even. I would check how you are doing in DCS with MSI afterburner and perhaps Overclock that chip a little, have you got decent cooling on it? This guy tested the 2080ti with that chip and still good. You would possible get only a few extra fps, say 5 to 10 maybe? Like I said, check with MSI in sim. His running this chip at 4.4 Ghz and a bump up on the RAM in the video below.
  20. Choice possibly... You can have faults if you do something wrong, like that other sim. We will be answering many more questions here tho....That's another reason for the full-fidelity? Many like to discuss the systems here, I was in the A-10C reading / learning about something the other day. This is also a selling point. People like to get involved and learn new things here and in MP. I just started playing around with moose again after sometime, now that is one big rabbit hole to go down lol.
  21. We like to pretend that we are practicing for the real thing. That's where all this came from right. FC3 Lockon etc To ED building the A-10C many many moons ago (Commercial / civi), that is still the king of fm, systems and weapon systems. That's all the sim's to mine you. OK the F/A-18 is slowly catching up. Do these guy's need that to work? Of course, training procedures, checklist and flows. I just have shorter ones when I just want to play.
  22. Most of what ED has now and 3rd parties are building is what you would call modular code base to change and use for ..........X ED is even moving into using new tech to simulate how real radars work. I.E somethings need to be more inaccurate to be accurate. (Looking at you F-15) This also aligns with their other business / deep system building / cost spread too. Most of the aircraft that are full-fidelity are built out of passion, some dev's would go even deeper than what some are now if they could. MAC is the transition War Th etc --> MAC ---> DCS I sit in the middle here as do others I guess.... Learn and do it all proper..ish, setup a few missions etc. Multiplayer. Skip all checklist and know enough, get in air and shoot things down with friends. Sling load cargo to build convoy's. Drive a tank and blowup enemy farps for fun. FC3 and full-fidelity. I like learning how things work and the idea behind the work flow to use the systems / combat systems.
  23. The problem is heat, make sure it's very well well ventilated. DCS can / will max out your hardware on any pc. There are post around here somewhere with having their Laptops throttle back / stutters etc. I would only go this way if I had no choice, moving around job etc.
  24. It would come back to the drivers you use. To have DCS run the smoothest at max settings and be able to flick Track IR all over the place and be smooth at 60 fps. I roll back to the older 425.31 NV drivers. No idea why these run the best for me...
  25. Get the best one you can afford chrisgrind, messing around with settings less and playing more. I had the older 1070 for awhile which was good, even at 1440P. This would be nice for DCS with 8 Gb ram On sale for 600 https://www.pccasegear.com/products/46970/asus-rog-strix-geforce-rtx-2060-super-oc-8gb Also check on MSY and Umart for pricing. https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-2060S-Super-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1660/4049vs4038
