Fire hands right:thumbup: It gets easier, make sure you setup your controls well, as muscle memory will come into play later. That is if your not use the Warthog that has the correct layout. The only thing I see wrong. -------------------- I Coolie Hat left or right short to bring my MAV page up. Coolie Hat left or right (long) to make (mfcd to SOI) I China Hat forward long to make my MAV's look at the target. TMS up short to lock the target. (You may need to slew to target as the hud is not that refined/accurate) Fire -------------------- It's a poor mans helmet mounted cueing system. The later versions of the A-10 have this. When do I use this? To rip off multiple mav's after seeing a convoy when doing recon on the sever I play on etc. Spotted. Quickly throw down the spi using the hud just in front of the moving convoy. slave all to SPI Slew, TMS up, Fire Slew, TMS up, Fire Slew, TMS up, Fire Slew, TMS up, Fire If time? Check targets with TGP and look for AAA units in said convoy. Coolie Hat left or right short to bring my MAV page up. Slew to 3rd unit etc, TMS up, Fire Slew, TMS up, Fire Slew, TMS up, Fire Sometimes it's just as easy and quicker to roll in and rip off the mav's. Just make sure you know that it's an enemy grid with no friendlies around, especially online. People get mad when you kill their units lol.

AMD Ryzen 9 3900X or Intel i9-9900K
David OC replied to RussianKnights's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You have a good system now RussianKnights:thumbup: Same chip 7700K I upgrade from the 1070 to 1080ti and can max it out with the 7700K for DCS. Could max out the 2080ti too. Looking to upgrade a little further down the line when DCS can really utilize more cores and it will make a real difference. The only thing I could do is buy the 2080ti to get 30% more performance. Not worth it, going to wait for Vulkan etc. 1070 to 2070 is only 30% increase 1070 to 1080ti is around a 60% increase. This is where I would put the money, or a least get the 2080 for that system build to get the 60% more performance. What I'm saying is you can have 60% more performance now, just by adding a 1080ti or 2080 with that 7700K. Bump it to 4.8ghz easy, 5ghz with a little massaging. With the 1080ti and 7700K @ 4.8ghz. I can hold 60fps with max settings (MSAA x 2) on the largest server online. I also Upgraded my ram to 32 GB. -
I think your looking to much into it here perhaps. I play on the largest server in the USA. We can only get 200+ ping and the guy who runs the sever is ok with that, as long as you can keep a stable connection and he can check this. Which is more important. I have seen guy's with pings well over 500ms and not lag spike. DCS will update a hit if there are lag spikes etc. No illusion here, once the sever is updated your still dead based on the calculations. You don't even see this generally, only with large lag spikes. When it happens, it's like that missile was close (Real close) then dead half a second later. I use SRS when things are to busy on Discord. Or some will drop down into another channel on Discord. It's good when Magic GCI is on a dedicated SRS channel and not just the main Discord. If the severs can utilize (access) parts of the DC on the sever? Plus use CA too. Things could get very interesting online.

I think he means TDC. TMS up long to make it SPI China hat forward long to slave all to SPI Switch to MAV, (mfcd to SOI, coolie hat long...) China hat forward long again and to slew Mav to the target. Only if not set to MAV already. Then just mfcd to SOI, TMS short to lock. (When in range)

Do you use Track IR mthatdan? Drivers updated to the latest? Do a test and turn off / unplug track ir. I have seen that here before a long time ago with Tir, it was playing up with DCS. (OLD drivers) Update sound drivers just to be sure. That's all I can think of to try, it's a weird one for sure. I play with many people online and haven't seen it.

It's under the special options tab --> Ka-50 You can adjust it up or down to suit your setup with a slider, so it is centered when zooming in etc.

When flying IRL you have + g force's most of the time, unless you stalling out etc. This would be fun for like 2 minutes. Going upside down when "not moving" would not feel right at all really. I would go with something like this myself https://dofreality.com/#h3 As long as it has the yaw feeling, it would be real helpful for the ww2 birds and be cool in VR.
-
Cheapest I've seen Pitch + Roll + Yaw (not 360) $1700 https://dofreality.com/#h3

Sorry to hear your have problems mthatdan. I would monitor your hardware very closely for heat etc. Perhaps download one of the many graphic test programs and see if they run and or crash your pc too. Something that will really push your pc hardware to the max like DCS can and does. HWMonitor https://benchmarks.ul.com/3dmark https://www.maxon.net/en/products/cinebench-r20-overview/ Many more of these out there for GPU / CPU Redo all drivers and check how old your motherboard bios is and if there is any major updates. Strip GPU down using DDU uninstaller https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html Things I've see at work Faulty Power supply when a little stressed. Faulty ram model, run all day then bam all of a sudden.

T16000M RZ Axis Jumping to right
David OC replied to keithBud's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Try calibrating the stick first. If that doesn't work / make it better, could be a bad sensor. Strange for these sticks. I still have the old green one as backup and it's still rock solid. If it only pulls a bit, you could try more dead zone in game, so it doesn't move when the stick is centered etc. -
LOL, There is not aircraft out there that comes even close to the A-10C in FM, systems, weapons and (weapon systems) and that was released in 2010. Have fun flying that virtual bus. It's not for me. All the new fly sim niche's are good for ED in the long run. When they bring in more people (big Ad spends etc) and they get bored, many will and be wanting more. I know what sim will end up installed and flown the most.:smilewink:

Gaming Chair - Recommendations?
David OC replied to dburne's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I've been looking at this myself lately. I took off the wheels on my office chair to stop some of the movement when using the monstertech mounts. Still rotates... I'm going to go with a good car seat (BMW, Merc etc) from the wreckers and should cost not even half the price as those good gaming seats and be more comfortable for longer game play. Just need to build a base box for the runners to bolt to. Monstertech do make a base frame, little more expensive this way. Or just buy what I need 8020.com.au. Might even connect up the electrics for tilt, height, heating etc lol. I also do some car racing, so it will suit and not move at all when smashing car pedals. -
ultimately just software, entertainment / IRL training software. DCS is also like this because it's also inline with the other side of the business. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=139334 Wags has said before that the "game part" needs work. Edit Another good example of being able to develop at this level of simulation is Heatblur / MetaSimulations, Meta Aerospace group partnership. Congrats Heatblur.

This sounds strange? If reading these post right? 1) It will / should always be centered in the Adjust controls screen. For the Mi-8 or Ka-50, when you trim this is then a NEW center from where you will now fly the aircraft from. It will not be centered generally ever when I'm flying these aircraft and I never really check to see. It should be centered when you begin / start a mission and should stay centered when you trim without touching the controls at the start or if you have re centered. If that's what's happening it's not right. The reason for checking is to see if you understand the difference / what's actually happening with the trim is after you wrote. Like I said, in game this is a "new center for your stick" on the control indicator. This is a DCS workaround because in a real chopper the controls do not center / have no center, ours do. So ED coded this in so we can set a new center on our "self centering sticks" on the fly, pardon the pun.

How do I install Modules from pre-existing files?
David OC replied to Nooch's topic in Installation Problems
It's not a lot to download just the modules themselves. You could try just starting the download for said module, stop it and then copy it over. That might trick DCS. Think I've done that with a map in the past. Not sure if it will work? Give it a try. -
How do I install Modules from pre-existing files?
David OC replied to Nooch's topic in Installation Problems
Copy the whole install folder to anywhere on C: drive etc. Copy the links from the new bin folder C?:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin or where ever you have it. D:\DCS World OpenBeta\bin DCS_updater.exe DCS.exe -
Like Razi has said. You can play with the bank to control the lift, it's that pilot stuff. The whole thing (Case 1) is dynamic and moving, including the boat, wind / turbulence.... Each part is a goal to correct and or aim for. The aim is to do each leg as good as you can and be safe. This will then set you up in the groove hopefully, it's all designed around speed, efficiency, safety. Lots of practice. IRL it would always be different. Wind, sea state etc. It's not about being exactly perfect when doing the case 1 break etc. It's about being safe and putting it down safely every time and adjusting for any conditions you encounter when doing it. The case 1 is practiced a lot, to be (second nature), way before you see a carrier.

Spec-ing Out a New System for DCS: F-16C in VR
David OC replied to AirBeagle's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi AirBeagle, Welcome to the forum... This is best posted and may get moved to the PC Hardware and Related Software section. When it comes to getting a good experience in VR, you are going to have to spend some dollars on the best system you can afford. What Smoked posted is basically the best you can get at the moment. I'm still running the latest last gen with the 1080ti. About 30% less than the 2080ti, tho I'm only running the Rift CV1. VR is almost there..... I'm holding out on my next build until VR 2.0. The headsets now are sort of version 1.5, almost there in screen res.... HP reverb, 2,160 x 2,160 pixels per eye. Yes, rendered twice, that's why it takes a beast to run these at a decent fps. If you drop fps it doesn't feel the best. I still use my monitor 80% of the time when playing online at 1440P and can hold (locked) 60 fps, with max settings on the largest most dynamic server online. Also spent the money on getting myself a VKB gunfighter pro. VKB and Virpil are possibly the best all round consumer sticks in the market today. Not sure if there the best "right" one for the F-16. It will do me tho. The best / correct would be the FSSB R3 Smoked posted. -
It's seems to be not as harsh as some aircraft? Need to test more. I've seen guy's (Have footage) landing next to the FARP's in MP and rearm and refuel, then takeoff. Can be a bit of an exploit, not needing to fly another 80nm to rearm, when you can rearm with the harrier. Edit: PG map

and how should ED in a "Flight Simulator" exactly be doing it RackMonkey? You sound like the expert here. Here's one where the developer has modified the FOV with a modification to Unreal Engine source code. "FoV is probably the setting that most of the FPS players out there are familiar with: it controls how much you actually see on your monitor and it has an impact on how the players perceive the distance, size, and speed." "The solution to all of these issues, i.e. locking the FOV for the gun and player model to a constant value while retaining variable FoV for anything else, is pretty simple on paper and much more complex in reality. It took us some time to get it right." http://www.theastronauts.com/2019/04/the-secrets-of-fov/ "We’re modifying the FoV during the game, decreasing it when you aim down sights, which creates the zoom effect, and slightly increasing it while you sprint and dash to give you that feeling of moving quickly." https://blog.codinghorror.com/widescreen-and-fov/ https://www.quora.com/What-would-be-a-realistic-FOV-field-of-view-for-1st-person-video-games https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Field_of_view_in_video_games

What video card are you using Airmage? Flight sims are possibly one of the hardest things to run on a home pc. I recommend at least a 1070 for DCS or at least a 1060 (6GB version) to run DCS at 1080p. You can run DCS on lower specs sure, if you want a nice decent experience then that's what I recommend. My path over the years 770 -> 1070 -> 1080ti MSI RTX 2060 about 300 Euro? MSI RTX 2070 about 500 Euro? https://www.newegg.com/global/de-en/p/pl?d=rtx+2070 When I went from 770 to a 1070....it was...wow, what a difference that made. Then you want even more of course.:music_whistling:

Just turn on save user snap views under options. On by default. (Pause Trackir) Move yourself and or FOV with / and * on Number Pad. Then save it by holding RAlt and hitting Num0. This will then be your NEW default position and FOV zoom when you reset. See it on video Check FOV size by Holding Left Ctrol and hit Pause twice. Keys to use when setting up the view: "Num/ - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Back "Num5" Cockpit Camera Move Center "Num2 - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Down "Num* - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Forward "Num8 - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Up "Num8" Turn Cockpit Camera Up "Num2" Turn Cockpit Camera Down "Num/" FOV- aka Zoom-in "Num*" FOV+ aka Zoom-out "NumEnter" Default FOV aka Zoom As seen in this thread for setting up all the snap views.

It would make a lot of sense to make CA apart of the DC. Think more like a dynamic Wargame and you can also drive and fly the aircraft if you want to.... Epic... Also, open it up the the server guy's so they can create PVE, PVP mix with a dynamic ai element etc.
