  1. The easy way would be to use the Joystick software and assign the keyboard key to the button that your using with AutoHotKey. Example Thrustmaster / T.A.R.G.E.T - Script Editor Looking at AutoHotKey, it seems you can do it, just a little work. https://www.autohotkey.com/docs/misc/RemapJoystick.htm#axis https://www.autohotkey.com/docs/scripts/JoystickTest.htm Remapping a Joystick https://www.autohotkey.com/docs/misc/RemapJoystick.htm Slow it down if needed? Joy2:: Send {Space down} ; Press the spacebar down. SetTimer, WaitForJoy2, 30 ; Reduce the number 30 to 20 or 10 to send keys faster. Increase it to send slower. return Full speed Joy3::Send a{Esc}{Space}{Enter} ; Have button #3 send the letter "a" followed by Escape, Space, and Enter.
  2. The L-WIN+Num X Just tells DCS this is the snap to overwrite. Pause Track IR L-WIN+Num X Move view and zoom using keys below. RAlt+Num0 to save it to that NUM X
  3. You can launch from the DCS.exe and not use the DCS_Updater.exe It's in the same bin folder. command line info GUIDE / INFO : DCS Updater Usage, Version Numbers, Module IDs
  4. Perhaps something like this for a wish list? Some sort of calibration to align with to SUIT your setup and "World Scale". IPD setting
  5. It comes down more to mission design, the Ai / ATC / Ground ATC needs work. This is coming after the carrier ATC is sorted and I'm guessing to also decide on the direction to go as to how to organize and code it all. That would be fun.... For now it relies on the mission builder and to help you know and find a spot. There was a mission a round a while back that had you stop behind the tower in a certain spot between static aircraft. Can't remember the campaign / mission it was in? It's a little hard making sure the AI is not in the way when you are there etc. I've been playing around with a mission and using MOOSE and the auto cleanup to help with this. A mission builder needs to make sure the pad is clear. For now most missions don't really care, as long as you finish the mission and land. I guess you could have triggers on the exit ramp(s) saying. Use taxi way Blah, Blah and park at..... Then you will need the taxi charts etc, or real good direction off the mission builder.
  6. That's what I would have thought would happen. Same with everything else in the sim. Why would you scale things differently in CAD. Tho, I do have some architects that do scale things, perhaps they did this when using the older CAD programs, to scale for plotting? Find it strange still. I've never felt the need to mess with the IPD? Never sat there thinking, wow this is really out of scale this pit and I own most of them. Not that I've sat in them IRL to compare.
  7. If you want to get your hands a little dirty with scripting, this can be done with moose, using a units waypoints. Would be nice if it was default tho.
  8. I still see MS as a good thing for flight sim's and there huge budget to bring in more. I also do fly those other sim's from to time. But at some point how many will be looking for more? Yes great graphics and you can see your house, fly VFR, SIDs and STARs. But after all that....Hay, some love it, not for me and many others. I don't mine the maps we have now, you can build some nice strategic missions and do a lot more dynamic things with moose. ED's main point is Fm's, systems and somewhere to use those systems. Plus all the ai, damage and ballistic modelling etc etc. This is what ED should be doing first, that's the niche their in, so many will come over if flying a bus or just doing VFR is not for them.
  9. The time it's taking is because of the NEW tech ed is building to simulate how a radar would work IRL, using the hardware we now have. There is no "accelerate", that's really a bad word to use. As I'm sure ED's team are hard at it. They could accelerate and fake it.... tho not very accurate like all other combat sim's before. What I mean by this is, that it should not be perfect and not just see all etc. These things are just very experimental and need testing and perhaps even re-coding, you need to throw it out there and try it test it etc. It's worth the wait for ED to get this core tech in the sim right for the F/A-18 and 16, not quick or "accelerated". This then can be changed and applied to other aircraft in the future etc. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/224989618_Simulation_of_Imaging_Radar_Using_Graphics_Hardware_Acceleration
  10. Hi Black6, I just tried it with the A10 and it seemed to be working.... 10% fuel. RTB on Bingo fuel waypoint 1 LandReFuAr waypoint 2 (Senaki) Waypoint 3 land at Vaziani, 125 nautical miles. What is your aircraft and editor process when using the command. I recommend really helping the Ai as much as possible with commands when building a mission. Not sure how much fuel it will take when landing at 80% full for example? Do you also add another RTB on Bingo fuel to a waypoint after it takes off. The Ai needs some work, there are ways around most of the problems, they just need a little babysitting with commands to get them to behave and act right. Another workaround would be to spawn in a NEW replacement for this aircraft at the same airfield to take off. No one will no the difference.
  11. Still digging that hole deeper I see. I will be ignoring you now, thanks for the great input here. I'm sure it helped many people out here in this thread. Got an answer for Svsmokey?
  12. Have a little think before posting. Its not all about the tech now. At the moment its a lot to about the software its working with. DCS was never designed around vr, it still is one of the best vr experience you can have as long as you can keep good frames. Seeing you know all and just post with no substance here. What is a good fps to hit on thr other vr headsets in dcs. That would be the question to ask others here and be helpful to others looking at what to buy. Not just post to criticize for somthing to do.
  13. Must be in that that is made simple for VR. There is no way your hitting the refresh rate in DCS, most bring the eye candy down to hit the asw 45 for the rift. Half the refresh and hold that and it's good. "hardware and software in combination has matured" It has, for now it's called asw for the rift. Here is the latest on asw for RTX cards.
  14. Give it a go tho and see if it helps. You need to be above 60 fps. Its' the old pre rendered frames setting. NVIDIA “Low Latency modes have the most impact when your game is GPU bound, and framerates are between 60 and 100 FPS, enabling you to get the responsiveness of high-framerate gaming without having to decrease graphical fidelity. “ In other words, if a game is CPU bound (limited by your CPU resources instead of your GPU) or you have very high or very low FPS, this won’t help too much. https://www.howtogeek.com/437761/how-to-enable-ultra-low-latency-mode-for-nvidia-graphics/ Quote how to geek ":With the default settings of “Off,” the game’s engine will queue one to three frames at a time. The “On” setting will force the game to only queue a single frame, which is the same as setting Max_Prerendered_Frames to 1 in older NVIDIA drivers. The Ultra setting submits the frame “just in time” for the GPU to pick it up—there will be no frame sitting in the queue and waiting."
  15. I show some tips on quickly finding and binding up the control for the Su-25t in this video, that can be used for any aircraft. Many clickable aircraft now have the HOTAS as a category, so you can select that and quickly go thru and bind up your controls once selected that category. To play in VR is quite easy, Install Rift software and select vr under the VR tab in DCS. Hit the VR default graphic settings to test. Change as required / keep at least 45 fps or you will feel sick lol. Bind up a VR recenter button under VR control options. Called UI layer.
  16. It would be nice to be able to rearm with just the trucks placed down on the ground. Also good for the Multiplayer / mistral on the front lines with ammo truck. Problem is the F/A-18 can land anywhere just about and rearm, so no aircraft except Viggen. Make the F/A-18 bog down like other aircraft when loaded on grass etc.
  17. I started in a similar position chrisgrind. You will be a bit limited and it can be frustrating. I went 770, that's worse than yours. I was running DCS 1.5 tho years back, which is easier to run then. Then bought a 1070 and track ir, built a new rig and then went 1080ti to have it all lol. I throu together about it to help others. Few other one's there that may help for getting started. We are slowly setting up a new server with a bunch of good guy's that will help others and we don't take it way way to serious, so it's still fun and a good laugh. You will need a half decent system for multiplayer, so when your ready..... We use Discord and can help train in different channels 1 on 1 etc. It's very easy to learn, like a forum. You can click a thread / channel, once in you can hear and talk to everyone. Gets a bit full on when there is 30 people in one channel. https://discord.gg/Fpdqf3 It will be OK It will become the limiting factor then, that's why I upgraded when I had my 1070 and an old i5. I would still get a GPU first and run it, then build up a new full system. CPU / motherboard etc and then put the new GPU in it. Not sure what you want to spend, I would not go under the 2070 super. That would be good for 1440p monitor and a bit of light work VR etc. EDIt: mean 2070 super is a good sweet spot. There all cRazy expensive. I paid over 1000 aud for my 1080ti:cry: Still holds it own against the new cards and I'm NOT buy a 2080ti for around 2000 aud, that's crazy $ for a gpu lol. Cheapest PC parts in Aus, lookup and compare them at msy.com.au or for a full system.
  18. It's 127 Scofflaw, image 5 of 5. Not tried the mission. Just a quick look. Will try it now, looks like a good mission. EDIT: There is a trigger setting up this 127 comm it seems. On mission start.
  19. This was developed way back when and with no VR in mind. I think it will be updated for screen and VR with the new update (Latest tech F/A-18 etc). It was originally set and developed for this specific set training view perhaps?
  20. Yep, look for throttle designator controller You can also decide how it moves with mavericks under the special tab. Hold tdc to slew (F/A-18 style default) or slew like the warthog tdc to lock.
  21. Good gaming / OC'ing motherboard + good cpu What cooler have you got for the CPU..? So you can bump that up.... You want to get to at least 4.5 (easy) to really feed that 2080ti. Just checked again what you listed, is that a K chip or not. Not sure why that would come with Asus Maximus? no point, it's made for OC'ing. See my spec in sig. Also hopefully running a decent PSU to handle pushing it.
  22. Stick with Todd Down and post any problems, many here to help you through it. All the sim's have there quirks in setup, there is a little learning curve. DCS is much easier to quickly setup once you know a few little things. This is the file you should backup, it where all the settings are saved. C:\Users\YOURNAME\Saved Games\DCS --> or DCS.beta etc You can even copy the full install to an external drive and copy it back to a new pc and copy this saved games file back, once DCS rebuild one on first launch etc. Fresh install is renaming the Saved Games\DCS folder to OLD.DCS etc. This will full reset the user options. You can then copy back you joystick files from this old one. Repair and clean. All I do at the moment is double click these two .bat files found at the bottom of the support page. HERE You place them in you DCS install. DCS_updater_cleanup.bat DCS_updater_repair.bat I've also added the save Game area to the quick access side bar in windows. Just drag the saved games file over to it. The directory of the DCS save games folder is the same folder structure as the main install location. DCS looks in YOUR folder first, if there or changed it will use YOUR files and options.
  23. Many cheap PSU's don't even reach there spec under load. If they do this, it most likely will take something with it.
  24. We know the KA-50 is getting a few extras / paid upgrade, has there been any word on the A-10? I've not seen any. Wound be a good / great surprise cough HMCS cough, new suit lol.
  25. Yes, it should pick it up again. Another way you can do this is to pick a closer tacan, airport etc and capture then follow that bearing radial to your destination. Once closer change switch. You can also cross reference range and bearing to tacan's for checking a position. See this old thread if your interested.
