That is the direction when it's possible in DCS / Consumer PC hardware. Cost will come by purchasing each fidelity vehicle separately or in a package perhaps. It's all a balancing act. The next level is using the new Vulkan technology and pushing it to it's limits with DCS. Main focus is the flight sim fm's and systems etc. Other: Ballistics, missile FM's and flight logic etc. I would like better weather, as long as it doesn't take away from the above. ED could easily break our pc's just with the above if they went to deep with the modeling. The only other way is making more of a game.... with a lot less full fidelity, that might just happen.....https://www.microprose.com Run by -->David Lagettie CEO of Titan IM / VBS series of military simulation software. It's in the latest PC pilot mag. All the full fidelity things we want are separate for that reason of depth and most are used for IRL training. DCS, Steel beasts, VBS etc.

I did a quick test and the 9 deg's looks right (Off DCS Flag). 10 wind 20 boat. Try that, you might be blowing yourself way close to much on the downwind. You would need to allow for more to the right etc. It should feel like you don't need to offset. I.E aim at the ships crotch so much.
-
When no wind the wind is generated by the boat. So it's straight, this is when the pilots talk about the burble, winds created by the behind the flight deck and superstructure. The extra offset was because of the 6deg variation. The carrier will always try and get the wind straight down the deck IRL (When blowing) and or you should correct the crab on landing when the wind is straight down the deck. It's never been really that bad if the mission is setup correctly tho. I know the video's don't show it. of this (The landing) and imagine being really crabbed and or well offset. It's more violent then those other videos make it out to be. It should never be this bad lol. But you get the idea. Starts at 1:16 The rest is that pilot sh... as they say and you should be dynamic and change the setup on the fly. 30 deg should be max, allow for that, allow that you might be blown in towards the carrier on the downwind and allow for that, offset more to the right etc. so you are in a better position when turning in. If your blown close, by the time you take the turn it will blow you even more off, way out as you go around and try and come out in the groove.

Why are the most unrealistic servers the most popular?
David OC replied to Boris's topic in Multiplayer
I play on the DDCS server now mostly, it's very addictive. It's great when all the regulars are on with the new guy's, it's a good balanced server and had many many great longgggg battles. (I'm talking a month, stuck at one base lol) This server is great at filtering out the hardcore AirQuake guy's by having the point loadout takeoff system. They generally move on quickly. Most of us sling when out of points, the quake guy's wont. This comes down to working as a team to get the job done, the server is not a squad tho, so the good matches come and go. The weekends can be real fun. I think it comes down to mission focus and having the "ability" well (8 acquisitions each) to sling and build a decent convoy up. Then protect it on the way to the objective and also provide cas. That way, like IRL "some" do sit behind the convoy and let the ground units and cas take out the sams and tanks. Fighters provide BARCAP close or just behind the convoy etc. It's going to be interesting with a dynamic campaign and CA.... It could open up a lot of possibilities if severs like this can tap into it and players can use CA also. IA connected SAM traps managed by players etc. Better dynamic base defenses when one team is low on numbers. This can be done now server side, it's just a bit to taxing on resources. Perhaps vulkan will help free this up. -
I've been playing on the DDCS server It seems a little intimating at first, but it's really not once you get on and have a few flights. Warning it can be very addictive..... Beginner player? As long as you can do something you can help..... On the DDCS server you can help by flying the free Su-25t. As long as you know how to fire sead missiles and or Vikhrs etc. Use the free TF-51 and capture farps. You get really good at landing on the ground in weird places lol. See the farps and bases on the real time live maps. Even something hard like the F/A-18, as long as you can shoot 120's and fire off AGM-65F Maverick's your good, learn others as you go. I do recommend Track ir and at least be on the discord channel. Most play on the DDCS sever is semi hard core, we are not a full on clan. Tho, some do take it more serious then others. Sometimes we setup a good strike package and get organized etc. Some times we laugh at a flat earther that just join the channel and is trying to convince one of the guy's that's a physicist. The big one for anyone sitting on the fence, is to jump in and have a go on any server. It's a whole new game and it's only going to get better. Especially now with CA (combined arms module) slowly getting some work done. DDCS is the only server I believe that you can sling tanks and have player driven tank wars or get in and shoot the sams at your opponents. Loads of fun. We are gong to be doing some training some nights. there are many channels you can jump into on the DDCS discord. So we can go to a separate channel and help from time to time, one on one. We just spawn in away from the front lines. Sling loading in the Ka-50 for example, see on the DDCS server, every player unit is slung into the match, except for static base units. Player slung units are saved every server restart, unless destroyed. The comms are from others, doing other things... Not related to this video below. Just me messing with the enemy from the ground units lol.

Hi rjornd, Welcome to the forum. The guy's might need a little more info about your system setup and monitor. Are you set to single screen (1 Screen) in the options tab and on the right Aspect ratio for your screen?

[REPORTED] Fix this Multi player killing glitch please
David OC replied to chief's topic in Bugs and Problems
User made from a tac command slot. That's from the DDCS server, it's all user based. No way points from the ME. -

They even take screenshots to send to others lol. This is what you can see. -
Does it produce different thrust? When your flying on speed AOA for landing. No.
-
402 engine........ Landing weight same AOA same 8.1 Does the 402 have different brakes? lol It's going to be in the ballpark to what we should see I'm thinking. Yep, Was going to post the same thing. All maintenance is done around making sure those charts are correct. They should be a little bit generous if anything. You should also allow a bit.... too on the charts, as per this scary video. 1000 feet or 300 meters is a lot extra. I would have thought you could use the anti skid, like you can on a car, right up to when it engages. Or is it standard on the F/A-18 to just use full braking all the time to stop.
-
The only time this would or could be a problem is when lasing a target and you needed to move the tgp very rare im guessing. Another good reason to buddy laze if the target is going to move or use a different weapon. The gps bombs are locked in once you tdc.
-
Yep, Not printed, looks around that from the 1.0 density. I was plenty short...? and was a little late to brake.... Will test again to see. Needed an extra 1000 feet to stop, from the 2600 marker
-
Quick test On speed AOA Zero wind 28,000 pounds (4000 feet) With flare add 1200 (No Flare in this video) Looks right to me from the A1-F18AC-NFM-200...? See page 11-261 Unless I'm missing something....? Not tested other weights
-
You would use ATC when in level flight with autopilot on, when dropping GPS weapons, using TGP etc. The throttle would have little movement then. If your flying up and around then probably have it disconnected IRL.

Hi Skyjoos, Welcome, Not all the vehicles have IR / thermal sights. Here are some other useful keys to bind for your controls. IR Vision Rshift + N Sight zoom out - Sight Zoom In = Turret to current direction lock V (i.e . stabilize turret) Turrent weapon E Turrent Select Q Isometric View (Insert) key (Some work with IR command) No micro text, I'm not getting any younger lol.:)

https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=209771&page=4 Thread above titled [FIXED INTERNALLY] I use a autoexec.cfg file to fix this for now for offline and online. C:\Users\<windowsUserName>\Saved Games\DCS\Config folder. File name autoexec.cfg options.graphics.Camera.Ultra.dynamic = {300, 60000} I use Ultra in the main options, pick the one you use and change it. options.graphics.Camera.High.dynamic = {300, 60000} options.graphics.Camera.Ultra.dynamic = {300, 60000} options.graphics.Camera.Extreme.dynamic = {300, 60000}

I normally just download the basic install first. 60GB Make sure it's all good and launches. Maps are the big one. 30+ GB each, I do these next then the modules. I have not done a clean full install in many years / many new pc's. Make sure you back up the full install once done (external if possible), this can be copied anywhere any amount of times (If you have space) and launched. Bin folder has the DCS.exe DCS_update.exe. Redo links and done. To make it clean just run a clean and repair after the copy. Usually I get 1 to 2 Mbps download.:(

Rename your dcs folder in saved games location to reset it. Copy over your controls later or redo them etc. Just rename it OLD_DCSBeta etc
-
Sorry to here that Sangusan. That's strange? I play with hundreds online and they all pass the check with the latest beta build. Perhaps try deleting the contents of the FXO and Metadata2 folders. This will rebuild the files. Will take longer, I do this after every update. There found here C:\Users\Sanguine\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta
-
Try a clean and repair I have had this happen a couple of times once updated. My install is just a copy and paste to hard drive, so I just use the .bat that can be downloaded at the bottom of the support site here and droped into the install location. (Then Double click) https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/709/ Go into your \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World clean up first, and then repair
-
I would also delete the contents of your FXO and metashaders2 folder under C: your user name just to be sure. Also check DCS is using all the cores, I have seen the 9900 do some weird things between Win 10 / DCS. Just open the task manager to see when in game.

Being realistic @ 2560 x 1440 I can hold / forced to 60 fps and hold 60 95% of the time on the largest server DDCS, 100s of units, some slung and player driven battles with max settings, msaa x2. The only thing I have changed is my ram, now 32gb ram @ 3000. Which really only helps a little bit, but every bit helps. That would be possible @ 3440 x 1440 on that server. Only with the 2080ti I'm guessing...

and as usual we come full circle about all this. You think ED's engineers haven't banged their own heads together over this?;) Even they had problems with trying to make it better and across the board in that demonstration. Quote https://why485.itch.io/smart-scaling-demonstration My equation is not about the size on the monitor of the objects. It is to maintain the pixel number require to convey information perceptible IRL by pilots as per Serfoss’ research. So if it 5px on 1080p it will be 5px on 720p. Of course 5px in 720p will be a lot bigger than in 1080p. at higher resolution than 1600x1200, mine will be smaller, but it is still magnified if needed and will be bigger than IRL. End Quote The rest is just tac on and tac on in different situations to get it better. Chasing your own tail is how I see it. Still not real fair across the board in multiplayer. Smaller screens could be still much better in SOME situations etc. For IRL training this is would be fine and can be fully adjusted to suit the D level trainer res. For 1000's of users...bit harder I guess. The sweet spot for me was going 1440P @ 27-inch. Good visuals at max graphics, great smooth performance and can still spot things. Seems close to real. Also many real competitive players will even adjust the screen color for a visual advantage.

I'm going with 3. Sensor select left to select the left DDI mav control. See the icon in the top right of the screen.

I could build a quick mission so you get the idea of what is seen. The big one tho is WHAT can be seen and when. You get more of that in online MP. Do we have awacs? Yes but only over near the carrier down south so there is good cover and SA is good. When we fly to the north we rely on each other scanning the sky/hills in different areas to get a better picture on the SA page etc. So those pesky 27's don't sneak up on us in the hills. I'm guessing the AI will see possibly everything, so not as realistic. Should test this to see in single player. EDIT: You still need a good GCI when things are busy and targets are not updating quickly. Quick SA example in MP.
