  1. Fly in at about 450km/h and nice and low, use the gunsight to aim a little to the right and when the target disappears under the nose, count to 4 and push the bomb release. Usually works most of the time, although it's always a bit hit or miss with level bombing.:smilewink:
  2. A Battle Of Britain scenario would be awesome, but it might be several years before the plane set would be developed. It's always good to keep dreaming and hoping.
  3. There's a spider inside the cockpit! Get it out, get it out........
  4. I've been looking at various different joystick mounts for a while now, including using an old drum stool! These look like the best option by far. Great idea. Time to save a few more pennies.
  5. In answer to the original post, at $1299 Australian, not me.:( The GTX 1070 is priced at $799 AUD and will do the job nicely.
  6. Give us Normandy and they will come.
  7. +1 This sums it up perfectly.

  9. Ziggy Stardust has taken his final bow. David Bowie has died aged 69. We have lost one of the greatest musicians the world has seen. Such very sad news. The stars are all out tonight. Rest In Peace. [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tgcc5V9Hu3g[/ame]
  10. Great news about the warthog extension. Interested to see what Milan comes up with.
  11. Thanks for everyones help. Sokol's screenshot is the page in question. I think what I'm actually trying to work out is - What is the correct file path to select when saving a profile? Is the correct file path for saving a control profile: c/users/name/savedgames/DCS/config/input/BF 109 K4/joystick? In that joystick file it list each different controller, should I just select the corresponding file for the control column that I'm saving the altered settings to and save over it? Or do I just give the Saved Profile a name like Sokol has done and just save it as he shows in the screenshot? Thanks, Scream.
  12. The Logitech G510s keyboard is an excellent for keyboard for flight sims. I've had mine for several years, it's been reliable and very easy to program and edit. Having three sets of 18 programmable keys means you can use a specific set for a certain aircraft, or system within an aircraft. Great for mapping comms too.
  13. Great thread. I never stop learning with this sim and the wealth of knowledge on these forums is incredible. Thank you to everyone for all the information. S! Scream.
  14. Yeah, sorry about the confusion. When I try and save changes in the DCS World > Options > Controls section for the 109 there is a drop down box to the left that prompts to Save As and lists the last aircraft I saved a profile for (the FW 190 ) plus, several other folders related to various other DCS World changes that are not control option related. How can I find the correct file path to the original saved 109 profile in order to save the changes for the new aircraft controls?
  15. Using manual prop pitch mode definitely gives more control. As you say, the aircraft feels better, and I find myself using it more and more. Thanks for the help jcomm. S! Scream.
  16. Just a little question about saving input files. I made a few changes to the control settings for the 109 recently and when I clicked on save changes it shows the file for the FW 190 and other non input related files. I know that the input files are in the saved games folder but when I click on the 109 file it just opens to show the various different controller input files. Where can I find the correct file for saving the 109 and how can I select it to save the changes? I'm using DCS 1.2. Thanks, Scream.
  17. Thanks jcomm. As an escape manoeuvre that sounds right, interesting to see the change from 1800 RPM to 2400 RPM once at a safe distance. Any particular reason for this? I tend to use the old MK I ears to monitor engine settings, with the occasional glance at the tachometer and ATA. The question was more in relation to gaining airspeed in a normal situation, rejoining a formation for example, without pushing the engine into WEP mode. I guess what I'm trying to really understand is how the prop pitch settings can be used to maximise the amount of "pull" that can be obtained by the combination of RPM and the pitch of the blade. S! Scream.
  18. A great book to read is "Stick and Rudder" by Wolfgang Langewiesche. It gives you a good idea of how all the controls in an aircraft interact and is presented in a relatively easy way to understand. Highly recommended. Cheers, Scream.
  19. Sorry to resurrect this question again, I'm still curious if there is an optimum setting for prop pitch that gives the greatest acceleration in trimmed level flight in the 109? Obviously going full throttle and keeping the revs within limits are two parts of the equation, but if you don't want to lose altitude and need to gain as much speed as possible what would be the best setting for the pitch control? Cheers, Scream.
  20. Excellent. Nothing like a nice little Stuka party. Help yourselves chaps! :)
  21. All this talk of 109s and 190s and bomber formation intercepts and escort fighters coming down to save them....DCS WW2 is going to be just totally awesome!
  22. The 109 handles like a high performance sports car when you use manual prop pitch control, it's a superb aircraft to fly. As I mainly fly Hurricanes and Spitfires in flight sims, its been great to give the 109 a good try, until the MK IX arrives. Just one question for the Experten out there, what would be the recommended ATA, RPM and prop pitch settings for getting the best acceleration whilst in trimmed level flight? This thread has had some really useful information, thanks to everyone for all the advice. Cheers, Scream.
  23. Very true Kuky. The madness in this world knows no boundaries.
  24. And so today I shall weep for France. Prayers and thoughts to everyone there. A sad, sad day.
