How is the heat ? If I don't run a fan my unit gets really hot. Also, are the actual cables the same ? From what I saw the only fix was some sort of clip you put over the connector ?

Is there any roadmap item to adding wing vapors to DCS ?
-
btw, I get the wierd 'lightning' flashes when I try to turn SteamVR up to 150%. I tend to just keep it at 100% I do get wierd behavior when I change the "motionReprojectionMode" setting. Sometimes the headset doesn't render the steamvr room after that - just dark with the white dot. So I have had to reboot computer/unplug device
-
ok, I will try as well. I don't get much jaggies with MSAA 2x on (I kept mine down to 100-108 as I didn't notice much difference and figured I was just causing more overhead)
-
I hope this is the case, I'd trade mine in for a replacement, but I don't want to send it in and then just sit and wait for the new one's to arrive
-
There isn't a PD setting there is just the slider of %. Basically something like this: https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=201961&d=1547316402

What is the point of running at 180% on SteamVR ? ie. I run DCS PD 1 and 100%. Looks great

You'll have to experiment, but I can pass along a few things that worked for me for Odyssey and now Reverb: 1. PD at 1. Basically you're going to let the SteamVR SS handle more. 2. I enable MSAA 2x and turn down ground textures, completely turn off shadows. The MSAA for me was that I was still getting 'jaggies' - I need to retest this with Reverb, I had left it on for O. 3. I set my SS - for Odyssey I had like 200%, for Reverb, 100-104%. Rest might be resolution. ie. Odyssey (OG) I had SDE. Reverb, extremely little and if so really unnoticeable. Index is less resolution than Reverb, more than O, so I would expect you'd see some SDE ? I get mostly a rock solid 45 fps. (I am using the auto, motionvector) setting which 'caps' it at 45 even though when I turn that off, I'm actually getting more like 60 fps I believe - need to double check. I get better/same performance from my Reverb than my Odyssey I think 9700k OC to 5, 1080ti.

Not saying I won't have issues, so bear this mind, but I did get my consumer version and I haven't had any issues yet. (this was ordered from Amazon last week) Couple of things: 1. I immediately did the 'cable tie mod' - as well as taped the connector so it wouldn't move - I can sorta see why this is an issue because the cable is quite heavy compared to previous VR units. (I sit the whole time, but if I was to play a VR gaming standing up, etc.... I'd probably recommend some sort of 'belt' or something to help relieve any pressure there.) 2. I did put a small fan to help - I do notice the units gets warm 3. I do have a new system, new motherboard, new power supply - so I should check my mobo but I don't think I have any 'power' issues.
-
Yes it is - I have mine on 'auto' - I might try this. I believe auto will kick it in automatically ?

I'm running OC 9700k at 5 and then a 1080ti card. So this VR is amazingly good. I like, refueling in F15 I could barely make out the refuel lights, now they are very clear. I have the cable ties in, hope this works out...

O+ also has adjustable IPD. I have used both O and O+. O definitely is grainier and not quite as vibrant colors. In terms of reading gauges, I didn't really see a big difference. Rift S did do better with reading gauges than the O, less grainy, put in terms of overall view distance I didn't notice much difference at all. (update: just fyi - I ended up returning the Rift S, still using my OG O - waiting for Reverb to try next)
-
When people post what their SS is, I'm always curious along with that what the PD is. ie. I've gone back and forth, and in order to not 'double up' - I found it looked best (and performed best) when I just put PD to 1.0 and used the slider. I also found MSAA at 2x helped. That is all with the OG O, so we will see what Reverb is like

VR Shaders mod for better VR experience

Is there a OVGME mod for this ? -
I grabbed one (from Amazon, not the other place) - at very least I can see if I like it. If I have issues I can return it - if I like it, I'll get a new one later, if I don't like it, oh well. There aren't really any more options, and I hate to wait and then go through this same thing again... I did want the pro one though to get the leather - wonder if it's something I can swap out later
-
Are these fixed units ?
-
I am - not really a choice, it's backordered everywhere
-
that is good news.... I'm ready to hand them my money if they would send me one :)
-
https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/43948-reverb-new-offering-from-hp/page/10/ on the bright side, this means they are fixing it, so that is good (I'm also hoping to hear something about the Cosmos... in particular it's price point)
-
ugh, this is testing my patience... I want one now :)
-
I also require 2x to avoid tons of shimmering, bad lines, etc...

Anyone try this out yet: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4507453/windows-10-update-kb4507453 "Addresses an issue that may cause Mixed Reality users to see a tilted world after connecting their headsets. Addresses visual quality issues some users may have seen with Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) headsets and Steam®VR content. "
-
I've found the issue to be when I have other windows on top of the dcs game, toggling out and then back and I lose the mouse.
-
Distance spotting is not nearly as nice though???

They need to seriously redo the comfort level on the Samsung, it's a disaster.
