Engine Failure during normal flight
saburo_cz replied to Irishlad200000's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Unfortunately manual controls does not prevent from this problem. Example which i described above, I controled coolants manualy and did not exceed green range, and engine died. Dora which has the same problem does not have manual control. (only semi manual) Campbell is perfectly right, it is totally random and unpredictable, and it is "impossible" to simulate it intentionally. -
Engine Failure during normal flight
saburo_cz replied to Irishlad200000's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
It is bug, and Dora suffers from the same, engine fails - stops, without any reason. I just landed on one non PvP server after approx. 1 hour long flight with Pony, and when i stopped the engine!!!, the niose which always goes with that failure said that engine is dead. So, i tried to start engine, and i heard starter, bur propeller did not rotate.. Yes, this troublesome bug killed my engine after i stopped it, btw. the same i experienced with Dora on BS server, engine died after landing when engine setting was IDLE... -

Hi, well I uninstalled DCS W2.5 from my PC, deleted file from "user files" and cleaned registry by CC. (BUT i still have DCS W2.2 in my PC) And result is bad, for me, bugs are still here, nothing has changed. I have no idea what to do next, may be uninstall all, 2.2 and 2.5, and try it again, but...

I have English DCS World (but I have CZ win10), will check if something somewhere changed, but main menu, mission editor and controls in DCS W are English.
-
Unfortunately no I will reinstal whole DCS World tomorrow, IMO problem is due to patch instalation. I switched from torrent way to HTTP after approx. 30%

In my case it is not problem with "keybindings", i have my own setting for mirror and engine and both works. I check it after all patches, and like nearly always no problem here (only problems i had was with "special setting" - rudder asist, not todays case). It is not connected with "mixture" can not be. Instruments in cockpit show 3000rpm and 18,3 lbs manifold pressure, the same shows game F2 view. If I switch off mixture, engine will never run 3000rpm and manifold pressure falls too... I tried cold starts (several times) as always i started engine without problems but when i increased power to any settings from IDLE to FULL power, plane just did not move, like there were no thrust from propeller. For example: if i was on ground and set rudder trim to one side, set ON parking brakes, then increaseed power i could see that rudder moves (Right CTRL + Enter), because of air stream from propeller, but now it does not happen for Spitfire, Mustang is OK, it works.

will try to delete all WWII planes and instal them again, and will see thanks

Definitively not connected with mirrors, not my problem! Unfortunately, the same power lose for Fw 190 and moreower, FW has always set L/G switch UP, does not matter what start i chose. When i switch ON battery on ground after spawn, plane goes down, because of landing gears go UP, the same for start from RWY... 109 has always set magnetos OFF!!! even i chose the Air Start, so engine quit. no problem with P-51 so far SORRY, but WWII planes look overbugged in this patch p.s. please philstyle, instal it try it and then give us some recommendation...
-
Hi, i do not have any modifications, i restarted game (several times), repaired game and restarted my PC with no any effect. I tried cold start, start from RWY and start in the air, always engine did not produce any thrust. No idea what went wrong, my DCS 2.5 is new instalation after it was released. I tried it on Normandy and Caucasus the same. Tried Spit in 2.2 without any problem.

Hi, after today's patch Spitfire lost engine power. I tried several different missions and always Spitfire did not fly and in the case "AIR Start" Spitfire lost speed. Did not matter if i set 3000rpm/18lbs, 2850/9 or 2650/7 in all cases speed fell down.. When i tried take of from runway, i set full power and Spitfire did not move, brakes were set OFF, of course. (btw. new steam from overheated engine is cool  ).

The stripes from the uppersurfaces of wings and fuselages should be remoded 4th July 44 by general instruction. The underwing stripes were removed between 25th August and 10th September 44. In early December 44 remaining Invasion marking was ordered to be deleted by the last day of the year. According to USAAF colours No.4 But, there were always some exceptions...

is air start possible after engine stop during flight?
saburo_cz replied to bephanten's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
If propeller does not rotate, it means that engine is dead due to fatal failure or damage and You can not start engine again. You can start engine during flight, if propeller is still rotating, caused by for example empty fuel tank or accidentally switched off something.. Ampmeter shows generator current only, not battery. If i remember, engine must have 1500 R.P.M. at least to shows some current. -
If you mean chose map in Mission Editor, just click on the top element of the Tool Bar (on the left side) - "Create New Mission" and You will be able to chose map what You want.

Peak period is usualy about late afternoon and evening GMT time zone. Mostly during weekends.

the last new feature "heavy AAA" is perfect example of useless improvement it is not dangerous for plane attacking airbase in any way, but is deadly for plane trying to kill that attacker.. please delete it, it is totaly worthless
-
This bug is still here, hotfix No.3 does not solve it...
-
In fact, that is not true. D-9 and K-4 are mostly outnumbered on online. Especialy after Spitfire was released. btw. played hours for planes used online during last, ongoing, season P-51 532hrs K-4 312hrs D-9 204hrs Spit 3hrs (is totaly bugged, and not used) even Spitfire is not, "Alied wins"

Few Questions About "Boom and Zoom" Attacks in a P-51
saburo_cz replied to SharkBait's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
There is no ideal setting, it depends on yours initial speed and enemy speed - or your speed advantage over your target and your altitude and position against your enemy, but mostly 3000/61 is more than enough. You just can not exceed 505MPH IAS. Yaw tendency, that is right, it is for all propeller driven planes. When supercharger swich to low gear (not off), plane lost power, means lower propeller torque, this change yaw tendency. You can only manualy swith to "Low" (or 1st) gear, but that is emergency procedure when automatic switching fail and supercharger remains on "High" (or 2nd) gear, to prevent damage engine. To keep supercharget on Low gear is purposeless because you lost power at higher altitudes. -
You can do it for every plane in mission editor. But if "Warehouse in airport" is not "edited players will fill MW tank during refuel/rearm. The best way is set "Warehouse in airport" empty for Luftwaffe base or bases.
