Whenever i read any messages here on the forum regarding aerial refuelling i'm asking myself: do you guys even train this or what is the problem with it?! I remember training to get fuel from anoher aircraft since my dcs day one and i've never had any problems wirh it. If course it was difficult at the beginning especially with the f-15 but after some hours of training it became very natural and i got better and better with every time i've done it. When the mirage arrived i actually found it very easy to put the drouge in the basket and staying in until the tanks are filled up again. It took me some training with the harrier again since the drogue is mounted in a quite uncomortable position on this aircraft. But again, after some attempts evrything became natural and not that difficult anymore. Surely it's much easier in VR but also in pancake mode it's very doable after some training. After all it's just hitting the basket and continuing close formation flying. Not a very big deal when you have the right sim-setup. I just don't understand those endless "how to refuel" threads around the forums here. Am i really this talented or are those who just can't get it done that lazy and don't want to train harder?! IMO in this sim there shouldn't be any easy refuelling option. Go and play ace combat if you can't handle a good simulation!

Yes. I'm very sorry. Of course i meant options.lua. my mistake. It's options.lua not config.lua (i will correct that in my post) This is just for switching betweeen VR/2D mode fast without having to set up all the values in the ootions menu over and over again.

You cannot take over from VR and watch your replays in 2D on your monitor while DCS is still running. You have to save your replays to watch them in 2D later. Welcome to DCS, sir! ;) Well, maybe I can guide you through this one... In your saved games folder on your PC (C:\Users\YourUsername\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config) there should be a file named "config.lua" which contains every graphic-option you set in the game. 1. Rename the file to "config.VR.lua" to deactivate it. 2. Now run DCS and set graphic options to a suitable 2D-experience for your PC. 3. Exit DCS and look into the \config folder. There should be a new config.lua file which now contains the configuration for your 2D-replays. 4. Rename it to "config.2D.lua" Now you have 2 config files. One for playing, one for watching replays. 5. To activate the configuration you want just rename the corresponding file back to "config.lua" and DCS will load it. That's the way I watch my replays and it's a quick solution to switch from VR into 2D mode and vice versa. Hope this helps a little.

Make 2 different "config.lua" files. One with a decent 2D-setup, one with your VR-settings. Then just deactivate the "config.lua" you don't need by changing the file-name. In my config-folder there are 2 config.lua files config.4K.lua <--- delete the ".4K" to activate it and play in 2D-mode config.VR.lua <--- delete the ".VR" to activate it and play in VR-mode Note: always make sure that there is just one config file active! This is the way I'm watching my replays.

A couple of updates ago while palyin' around in the mission editor i found a 2nd F-16 entry in the add-aircraft-section which said "F-16Cblock50" just next to the ai F-16. Similar to the two choosable F-18s in the dropdown menu. Since one or two updates the mentioned 2nd F-16 entry is gone again. Maybe this was a little hint from ED?! Did anyone else notice this?! (I wish i had taken a screenshot)

C:\Users\YourUsername\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\fxo C:\Users\YourUsername\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\metashaders2 It is recommended to delete these folders after every update.;)

+1 carrier wake really needs to be corrected. the old wake was waaay too looooong and the new wake is barely visible. And in VR it's almost invisible and it looks like the boat isn't moving at all. However, I think they will correct this issue when the new nimitz-class carrier arrives.

I might repeat myself... ...but i think ED should really have a look at their promised performance optimizations. For both VR and 2D gamers. I remember flying low and fast with my hornet with stable 60(2D)/45(VR) fps when the hornet came out a while ago and it was really the best fictional experience I ever had... (besides some drug experiments when i was young).;) Unfortunately performance has gotten worse and worse with every update since then. A few days ago I found myself desperatley experimenting with graphics settings for hours to get (back) stable fps where once I had super smooth 60fps in 2D and 45 in VR. Unsuccessful.:noexpression: (i7@4.8Ghz , 32GB RAM , 1080ti OC) Please ED, now go and do your homework! You're talking about improvements and promising things that seem to actually develop into the opposing direction for quite a while now. The performance is gone and so is the fun.:mad: Unfortunately I can't afford a "nuclear powered graphics card" and I believe I'm not the only one having this problem... ...going paragliding now... ...because stutter-free unlimited-fps nature!:D

WHEN will ED start to improve VR-performance as they promised some weeks ago?! It seems DCS-VR-performance is getting worse with every uptade they push out.:( I did not have less than 45fps for most of the time since I am using oculus rift, but now I can not get much more than 30fps on the caucasus map where I used to have smooth 45fps a few updates ago.:helpsmilie: It's just getting worse and worse and it starts to get really annoying now!:mad: ED, PLEASE start optimizing DCS for VR or stop promising things you can't do!!!

Okay, guys. Need help, please. Since in RL pilot and/or RIO don't have "ctrl+c" to close their canopy... ...where is the switch to open/close the canopy in th F-14?:music_whistling: Cann anyone please help me?!
