I didnt have any trouble the last time I flew it, but I did was running on fumes so the descent was steep and I lost one engine to fuel starvation while taxing

That exceeds the operating limitations of the real aircraft, from its manual: "9. Rated landing weight for using concrete, unpaved or snow-covered runway, is 6800 kg, with BLC system being used by all means, This landing weight is obtained when aircraft: (a) has no external loads, fuel remainder not exceeding 700 L; (b) carries two missiles, or two YB-16-57 pods, or two FAB-100 bombs, or carries no combat stores but has empty drop tanks attached, fuel remainder being 500 L,"

Should there be more variants for planes and heli?
Rudel_chw replied to mrbluegame's topic in DCS Core Wish List
On my particular case, the only DCS aircraft for which I would pay again for a variant, is the JA variant of the Viggen … for all others, I’d rather spend the money on a completely different aircraft, like the Eurofighter for example. -
I was talking about this utility: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1862911/ I know it looks old, but it still works, it is meant as an aid in translating the language of a mission, but it has the ability to export all its text:

Kola is a great map, and I used it to test the feasability of porting missions from one map onto another, for example this is a Viggen mission that I did for Nevada: and this is the exact same mission, ported to Kola: ... and of course the Viggen feels much more at home in Kola than in Nevada

I'd try the MizEdit utility, it has an option to export all texts from a mission

I’m pretty sure that I didn’t created the thread here, don’t know why it would have been moved here, @BIGNEWY can you please move this thread onto the main mig-21 forum? Thanks

what for? both versions are identical from a Sim perspective (only difference I can see is the lack of the Module Manager on the Steam version) .. there is not a single reason to have both installs at the same time.
-
Stand-alone uses up the same amount of disk space, just delete the Steam version before you install the stand-alone.

Actually I was torn between doing these missions on either Kola or Sinai, finally the beautiful liveries by @Kerbo 416 tipped the scale in the Sinai direction … however these missions are relatively easy to port to another map, so in the future I might port them to Kola, it all comes down to having enough free time.

Hello all, I have now the mission almost ready, just one final testing round before uploading the two rocket missions to User Files Thanks a lot for the kind words ... I'd love to do the Hind, but helo training is too challenging to be able to edit a usable mission for the handling aspects, like hovering, landing, etc. Eduardo

I've been using the MiG-21 a lot lately, and I was getting a bit bored of the MiG's default theme. So, I replaced the wallpaper, the loading screen, and the background music. I'm sharing it so that maybe other users feel compelled to share theirs It's packaged in OvGME format, so that I can easily change themes as the mood strikes (as DCS only allows a single User Theme). It does not impact the multiplayer IC, since its files go into your /Saved Games/ folder. To use it you will have to select the USER THEME. Credits: Wallpaper photo by Steve Knight. Loading photo from alphacoder.com, if anyone knows its origin please let me know. Music by Laura Brehm, https://www.youtube.com/@laurabrehm As soon as the file gets approved, I will add a download link. Here is a very short video to be able to hear the music: Edit: here is a temporary download link from my cloud drive, as the User File still waits for approval: The file is already at User Files: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3343109/ Eduardo

Seems you are correct, a careful reading of the english manual that I have (Pilot’s Flight Operating Instructions No. TK-359), says: "In the course of successive actuations of the firing button, rockets will be fired at first from both inboard rocket pods, in compliance with the preset launch variant (i.e. RETS-4, 8 or 16), then the outboard rocket pods will begin to unload their rockets (automatic switchover will take place after all rockets have been fired from the inboard pods and once the firing button is depressed another time)." Correct, seems I will have to update my mission even before its released Yes, it was possible, as this YT image shows: Thanks a lot for the help, I will adjust my mission, as I love to be as realistic as possible Best regards, Eduardo

this has ben asked/wished on several threads already …. doing it one more time won’t make it happen, it just pollutes the forum.

Hi, Just wanted to add that I repeated the test using four pods of 16 rockets, and the issue happens just the same: only inner pods fire, and once depleted only then the outer pods fire too. Sadly, I doubt this bug will be solved anytime soon, so I will have to add a bug explanation to my training mission in order to be able to release it Eduardo

It has 12 Instant Action missions (6 for caucasus plus 6 for Kola), two Single Missions, and 5 Training missions.

Hi, While editing a rocket training mission I realized that the Salvo setting is not working as describe on the manual: if I select a salvo size of 4 rockets, I expect 4 rockets to come out of each pod, but only the inner Pods do, the outer Pods don't begin firing until the inner pods are empty. This with a configuration of two 32 rocket pods on the inner stations, plus two 16 rocket pods on the outer stations. Has anyone else encountered this? Its a bug? Here is a video I did while testing: Thanks for any help with this, Eduardo

Hello, I found it was an error of mine, I ended up using this sentences: Defining the Weapon Filter: myFilters={} myFilters.rockets_S5M = WT.weapon.newFilter() myFilters.rockets_S5M:addTerm("Name","S-5M",true) To detect the rockets near my aircraft: WT.weapon.near("MyAircraft",myFilters.rockets_S5M,1200,"RocketsNear") I use the RocketsNear value to update a counter of how many rockets I've fired so far ... I will use this to have my triggers detect the moment I run out of Rockets. Below is my test mission. Thanks a lot for all your help and for sharing these tools. Eduardo Test Weapon Near.miz

I tried Firefox today and on my PC I have no issue, either browsing the guide or downloading the pdf: maybe it's the PDF software of some users, I employ Adobe Acrobat Reader v24
