  1. That was hard indeed! Nevermind, always gratifying to see a budgie getting plucked :D Good job with damaged controls
  2. About time. Now how about you keeping it constructive from hereon in? Either that or keep quiet: Whichever option you prefer
  3. I'm sure it is, unless I'm mistaking the ME setting for something else entirely.
  4. Obviously not: It was included on purpose, just because...... By Gawd man, mistakes happen, even forgetting for a moment that the Mig release is a Beta so yes, it obviously slipped past the Devs and us testers. So what? It will be attended to, obviously.
  5. Seemingly a lot of these threads mushrooming all of a sudden :) Over in the 159th, apart from a perfunctory 'check-flight' on entry to the Squad (and even then only to ensure that you know your throttle from your cyclic etc etc), no schedule or tasks are set by us and demanded from new recruits, reason being that it is first and foremost a hobby, with the understanding that real-life will ALWAYS take precedence. That said, you get out what you put in. We as 159th Squad members are always willing and able to assist new members in whatever airframe they wish to fly so at the end of the day your schedule will determine your progress. I also hasten to add that this is not an attempt to actively recruit you - all I am stating is that there are Squads out there that understand individual member circumstances and as a consequence are not task/schedule-orientated but more orientated to provide an environment where all their members, irrespective of status, can have a virtual home to attend at their own pace and time, drawing from the collective experience of the entire Squad membership. If you are interested in further info, stop by our forums and have a looksee - we're always willing to help: All you gotta do is ask :) http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=577471&postcount=4
  6. The 159th Guards Aviation Regiment have just accepted the first consignment of Mig-21's straight off the retrofitting line of the Mikoyan Factory and in finding suitable accomodation for our new Devil-Darts, are proud to announce the formation of the 159th Tactical Air Wing (TACWing). Roles of the TACW consist primarily of (but not limited to) Interception and Strike missions, conducted as Enemy Bomber Interception, Precision strikes, Anti-Ship and Light Ground Attack/CAS. If you are one of the few who dare to recklessly tread roughshod over ground where Angels Fear to Tread and a career flying the Mig-21 in a MP Squad appeals to you, feel free to browse our forums and say hello: We may just have a Balalaika that suits your style :pilotfly:
  7. Whilst the 159th is primarily a UK/European based squad, we have a healthy number of NA membership with a dedicated NA Squad Flight allocation on Wednesdays 20h00CST as well as flights on an Ad Hoc basis, 24/7 as and when members prefer. If you are interested in Squad-based activities with absolutely no strings attached then feel free to check out this post: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=577471&postcount=4 Alternatively just hop onto the TS/DCS server and have a blast - there's usually a 159th squaddie always willing to help so just shout :)
  8. That's the problem: You never see them until it's too late. yzRAhseu3Jc&feature=related
  9. End-October over here in the UK. No idea in your neck of the woods.
  10. Wait for the EVGA GeForce 970 FTW ACX 2.0. I've got two on pre-order and on paper they are probably the best bet at a helluva decent price.
  11. Everything's eatable if you're hungry enough :D LST = Low Speed Target It's when your target has a small or no relative speed equal to yourself, ie small closure rate. If you match/are close to the target speed you will struggle to get and maintain lock without the button being depressed/mode engaged.
  12. Pressed the LST button (CM50)?
  13. Here's an in-cockpit view of a landing: Should give you an indication of what to aim for, one way of getting it done: eQexbxtGonQ
  14. Which is 533m/s, well within valid parameters, yes?
  15. Also need to remember that the new Vikhr-1 missiles might be a wee bitty faster than advertised, although they themselves are now a legacy system with the operational testing of the Ka-52 mounted Hermes-A anti-tank missiles, no slouches at 1000m/s.
  16. Happy Birthday 'Ol Timer :D
  17. There are none whatsoever that match the Flight Model Fidelity that DCS has to offer and that right there is what is important as far as I am concerned.
  18. He was not detaching it: He was ripping it off. Neglected to remove cover from jettison button so only way chute would detach would be to rip it off with thrust.
  19. Reading the manual would have prevented the game from fooling you.
  20. Why don't you just watch my track/video and do what I do?
  21. No problem here jettisoning chute. Track: Drag Chute Jettison.trk Are you using the in-cockpit switch or a keybinding?
  22. It's you. Simple physics dictates that if your descent rate is too high then you are going to bounce like a rubber-ball. In any event, my apologies for not pointing this out earlier but better late than never: You are doing yourself no favours by attempting to land a plane with a 100% internal fuel load. Don't get me wrong, it can be done, but not advisable without a lot more practice. This would also explain the difficulty you are having and again, it's not the SIM, it just requires a very delicate touch at that weight which is waaaay above recommended landing weight. What you need to do is to edit your mission, giving yourself a 25% internal fuel load, this percentage a reasonable operational RTB configuration. Try landing the plane again and compare results - I'll almost guarantee you that you'll stick the landing without problem and realise that the SIM is fine  In order to aid you I flew a quick mission, spawning in the area where you did, landing at Sochi. Now I don't and never have flown the numbers - I fly by 'feel'. I do like to bring her in high, thus maximizing visibility. In any event, technique aside, the plane touches down doing 260km/h, coming to a stop without the necessity of a chute with more than enough internal fuel remaining. Suspension is fine and no breakage/bouncing. Herewith Vid and Track for illustration: eQexbxtGonQ Track: Mig landing.trk
  23. He got gunned recovering from the Split-S. Here's the story as told by the Israeli Pilot himself: http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=101170&d=1405795002
