No sporadic crashes? No sound issues, lockon with vista? All running well as it would under Xp? I guess, my quad 4 is not up to par. Since I have ultimate issues with vista with Lockon. Vista and Lockon, no that good from experience http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=25901 DX10 from DX9 not much of a big difference in my opinion, well from FSX experience, better eye candy, but at the cost that all your dx9 and below games crashes from one to the other. I hate vista. Until they pull out the service pack 1. I re formated and went back to Xp. To much of a pain lockon with vista. Not worth it so far. That said, I heard service pack 1 for vista is coming out soon. I will retry it only then. As for capabilities issues with FC. Sound issues and all. Only ED can answer that one, if budget permits it...Hopefully they will… Thank God my Xp serial is still functional :smilewink:

Known issue, yes I admit this. . X-Fi here. Actually tried my on board sound card on my Asus P5k, for testing. Same results…Same bug. I admit under Xp all is ok. But I need to go forward with Vista, (although I hate the OS) Main reason. DX10 games. The only Doctor for this would be ED. Since it his codes, he would be the best to contact Microsoft and get some kind of fix going. I tried all my tweaks and tech skills to fix the issue, all in vain. I’m out & clueless. I do admit, this surpasses my skills. I suspect issue is coded or compilation related. But I cannot be certain. I’m too limited at this point. Please ED investigates this. Your team is the only one that can provide answers to this. I admit that I'm kind of worried that BS will have the same issues with Vista.. Thanks

I also have sound issues with FC and vista as well (only with FC), starting on tarmac; I hear engines at full speed even Even if no ones are besides me. To fix the issue. I have to spool up, hold break, hit afterburner for a sec, and then idle off. Afterburner sounds disappears.(becomes normal) But If I switch to external views and back. Then. I have the repeat the same steps when back to cockpit. Not a big issue. But it is a bug in my view. True bug seems associated to OS or DX10 reverse capability. I am not sure. I just point things out. Some of the issue go outside my understanding. Only ED can intervene and address the issue. Cheers

Not sure if this was mentioned. Have more then the standard of Blue vs Red, the ability to add other coalitions could make mission building very interesting.

Dynamic weather patterns are must for me. Although it was already mentioned. EAX HD support for sound integrations would be my next choice. Lockon lacks sounds to much... Stereo is old school. Time to get up with the program in this area, that’s my vote. DX10 exploding particles would be third, but sound is something ED needs to revisit in my view. Sounds are usually the one that gets less attention until you hear it to its full capability. Once you hear it, you would not want to go back to basic stereo basics...If ED still has the mind frame of bringing up a sim that’s up to future generations. Then, sounds needs to be included in this project. This is my opinion…

If your behind a router, make sure to forward your port to your internal lan IP, It’s possible that your router has changed your lan IP, some router does that if set to DHCP, lease the lan IP for week, month, depends on the settings & router, that’s the first thing I would check. LOL. I'll play anything that has top notch quality. sim or arcadish in sence, makes no differences to me. If the game play or tactical play is good, then I'm all for it. BF2 is considered arcadish sorta, but remains a awesome game. It's all about having fun in my book... Branding a game with Tom Clancy name, then you should expect lots of cash for the dev. So, well I expected that a great game can come out of this endeavour. Cheers

But I was already aware that xp yields better FPS rates so far, 2 reason why at this present time I’m on vista, 1 DX10 games like Crysis that is coming out and FSX. 2 my xp version will be used on my 2nd computer (old pc) that’s on hold until I get my BFG6800GT back from BFG since life time warranty, I fried it, lol. After Xp will be re installed on that PC. Personally from experience so far Vista isn’t up to par to what all the hoopla Microsoft made it to be. Xp remains the better choice as a gamming OS so far, at present time. But I admit that with my specs the significance of the FPS drop is really marginal, almost not apparent, basically I can live with it so for, asking me the same question 6 month from now, I most will likely change my mind, lol.
