DCS: Black Shark - Q&A **READ FIRST!**
TheMoose replied to EvilBivol-1's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Sorry if this was asked previously but 25 pages…, lol.;) My impression is that the DCS component as flyable will be separate to the game engine. Some might buy the KA-50, some might just want the A10 and so on. Myself, I intend to buy everything, but anyhow, that’s beside the point. I have a question. When BS does come out, down the road if the game engine does gets upgraded due to technology demand or due to implement new flyable and features. Besides the add-on of the flyable itself, will they get the upgraded game engine and new features for free to stay in conformity with the version pack? -
I agree, FPS stability is the key factor with these. It makes for a more enjoyable experience.

Tenrai I seen the bug you have mentioned with these drivers, but myself after quitting and rejoining the issue had fixed itself, reason why I never mentioned it previously. Never seen it since. But BETA drivers are BETA for some reason and should be treated as such. I recommend you try the 169.44 version if you still want to tweak & get the most out of your system, but remember to use a driver cleaner before re installing different ones.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_169.44.html After testing the 174.20 I notice more people where having issues with them. Not only for lockon, but all other types of games. I myself never had any issues per say, only bug I found was AA was not working for Crysis. Besides this, all good. Anyhow, I notice these drivers that came out from the source; built especially for Crysis 1.2 So I gave them a run. WOW again lol, (no placebo, lol) I have to say I am very impressed with these drivers as well, even more then the 174.20. Especially for Lomac. They run real smooth. Well that’s for my rig at least, all system is built different. Not all have the same PC/CPU/Chipset/Graphic card etc... But so far I'm going to stick with these for a few. Cheers S! PS: remember to use some type of driver cleaner before changing driver types. I use Driver Cleaner Pro, free at http://downloads.guru3d.com/Driver-Cleaner-Professional_d745.html

Well I do get around average 10% gain in FPS rates on my rig in most of my games, but true I'm using the GTS version. The GPU benchmark of Crysis is the one that provided conviction... And FSX wow, another gain, now I can boost the settings a bit :D a 10% boost in World in Conflict via there own benchmark utility.... You say more bandwidth limited? Can you elaborate? I don’t understand :smilewink: Might be a good idea for ED to provide some type of benchmark of there own, allowing conformity and allowing geeks like us to compare. maybe I'm mixing up bandwidth to FPS? lol to my knowledge, the end results is what counts, if these drivers does give you a hard on, sorta of speak, then, my work is done, lol Cheers S!

I have not tried these yet, still testing the 174.20 first. As for lockon, improvements are hard to say due that average FPS differs from where you look at and the camera angles. But Overall, I’m highly impressed with these drivers. But thanks, I might give them a whirl after

http://downloads.guru3d.com/ForceWare-174.20-XP-(32-bit)-download-1866.html WOW, I'm having awesome FPS increase with all my games, including Crysis, I went from 30FPS to 55FPS with these, with the GPU benchmark utility (Crysis). FSX has also gain better FPS. Compared to my previous 169.x drivers. EDIT: World in conflict went from 26 to 38.:D I highly recommend them….

Patch 1.13 Requested Features/Fixes List (*Merged)
TheMoose replied to Colt40Five's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Preventing scripted LUA for ECM blinking or other wise. I know it was said, but I strongly believe that this needs to be dealt with ASAP. Otherwise, say goodbye to online playing… Yea, wait for burn through as some might say, … Wait for what? As soon as you locked them with a R-27, he jams & blinks. But he does so since his script does so for him. Waiting for burn thought is not BVR engagement, sorry. I can deal with a regular jammer that uses his thumbs on his stick. You can feel the differences when you are engaged. He isn’t waiting; using semi radar weapon is useless against them. So either you fight with a Mig with R-77 or porked Aim 120 on the F15c, all other weapons is useless… Making most of the air to air in lockon obsolete for real BVR combat. Where Is BVR in Lomac skies? -
Thanks guys, much appreciated, although I noticed a mistake I made, seem’s its Fulcrum and not fulcrun. Not a big issue. I will fix it on my next one. Night missions are always hard to capture, without loosing too much quality on the hud display. The next one will be during day time with more bang & punches... I’m an amateur when it comes to movie making. But the fun is in the learning process. Later guys… S! Moose

Playing around with adobe premiere these past few nights. I made movie of a recorded track, when a played on the 104th server on HL, few weeks ago. Thanks to Syspo for hosting & converting it. Thanks to all the members of the PA. I consider them awesome friends and very talented individuals, so although this movie isn’t much, I give credit to them. Hope you enjoy it. http://www.flibusteairline.com/LesVideos/richardlockon.html I also give credit to this community and all the contributions they made for me. From the learning experience and hosting dedicated servers on HL, to the eye candy & modifications provided by you all. PS: Also huge thanks for the A10 driver, being a sportsman he is and not aiming at me. He could have cooked me well… Cheers, Merci & S!

Not sure, but would it be more beneficial for online play to expand, to require more ports to be open instead of only 10308? From experience, the more intense a game is, the more ports is required by a developer to be open on the clients side. But that’s only my observation… Would it help having different data traffic travel in different port channels, instead of limiting it to only one?

This is the only thing that needed to be said. Thanks EvilBivol. Cheers

I agree, that this would be an awesome feature.

Raising an old thread, now that I’m using and X-45 I have this issue. Besides of re mapping. Is there a CFG or LUA file settings that allows modification of the speed of the cursor movement in the TV display? It's too fast... Assistance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

DCS: Black Shark - Dev Updates - 09 July 2008
TheMoose replied to Wags's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Good news on the update Wags, thanks. But not so good news for the French and Quebec community members on the manual. And there is a lot of Frenchman that was and still looking forward for a French manual. Anyhow, if possible. Do what you can for us French members, that would be appreciated. Depending on how thick it is... I'll try and translate as much as possible. But I know, I will have issues with some of the tech aviation terminology. But as for shipping a totaly French version of BlackShark; I can only let this in your capable hands. Thanks in advance. -
